Abstract

This study analyzes pesantren strategies for managing cultural conflicts in non-Muslim communities. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using an interactive model, including data reduction, data presentation, data depiction, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the pesantren implemented various strategies, such as intercultural dialogue, joint social activities, synergy in religious social activities, collaboration with government agencies, and image enhancement through achievements. These strategies play a significant role in preventing and resolving cultural conflicts, as well as building harmonious relationships with the surrounding community. This research reveals that pesantren not only function as religious education institutions, but also as social agents that contribute to intercultural integration and harmony, especially in plural societies. This finding confirms the important role of pesantren in promoting cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration to create more inclusive and harmonious relationships in non-Muslim communities.

Abstract

This study examines the management of ta'lim through an integrative analysis of Surah Al-Baqarah verses 30-35 and thematic hadith. The research aims to describe ta'lim as an Islamic education management concept that transcends the mere transfer of knowledge, emphasizing holistic education encompassing cognitive, moral, and character development. This study employs a literature-based thematic analysis (maudu'i) that integrates the Qur'an and Hadith as foundational sources. The findings reveal that ta'lim is an integral process in Islamic education that combines knowledge transmission with character formation, guided by divine teachings. The concept emphasizes the unity of cognitive and affective domains, forming a balanced approach to education. This research further demonstrates the relevance of ta'lim in contemporary educational contexts, particularly in formal and non-formal institutions such as pesantren and madrasah. The study's unique contribution lies in its integrative perspective, which highlights the synergy between Qur'anic verses and hadith in shaping a holistic Islamic education framework. It offers a renewed understanding of ta'lim as the foundation for comprehensive human development.

Abstract

Epistemology, the philosophical study of knowledge, underpins how knowledge is acquired, validated, and applied. This research explores Islamic epistemology, which integrates divine revelation, reason, and experience as complementary sources of knowledge. By analyzing epistemological approaches such as empiricism, rationalism, and intuitionism, the study highlights their influence on Islamic educational principles and methodologies. Islamic education uniquely balances spiritual and intellectual pursuits, integrating scientific inquiry with religious values. The study discusses how these concepts shape curriculum design, teaching strategies, and learners' intellectual and moral development. Using library research, data from books, scholarly articles, and digital platforms provide a comprehensive understanding of epistemology’s role in Islamic education. The findings reveal that epistemology in Islamic education bridges traditional and modern knowledge frameworks, fostering holistic development. This understanding helps educators and learners create an inclusive learning process that harmonizes empirical and rational knowledge with spiritual insight.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the quality of learning media used in the Islamic Religious Education course at Kadiri University, Indonesia. The evaluation focuses on the learning media and supporting facilities within the classroom, including projectors, screens, audio systems, and physical conditions such as seating, room temperature, and elevator accessibility. A qualitative descriptive approach based on Miles and Huberman's model was employed, with data collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews involving five students from the Faculty of Health Sciences who attended the course during the odd semester. The findings reveal that the quality of learning media and facilities generally supports an effective and comfortable learning environment. Well-functioning projectors, audio systems, and comfortable seating are key factors in facilitating the learning process. The availability of an elevator also enhances mobility for students and lecturers between floors, contributing to smoother lecture activities. However, several issues were noted, including deteriorating chair conditions and inconsistent air conditioning performance in some instances. This study highlights the importance of routine maintenance to ensure the quality of classroom facilities and optimize the learning experience. Furthermore, it opens avenues for future research on the relationship between facility quality, student learning outcomes, and the integration of advanced technology in learning media for Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on students' participation, critical thinking skills, and understanding of fiqh concepts. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that PBL fosters a dynamic and inclusive learning environment, encouraging previously passive students to actively engage in discussions, share ideas, and connect fiqh theory to real-life contexts. Teachers observed increased student confidence in questioning, arguing, and problem-solving. These results highlight PBL as an effective alternative for enhancing fiqh education in madrassas and other Islamic institutions. By integrating PBL, students not only improve their conceptual understanding but also develop essential critical and collaborative thinking skills for their future.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Jibril Method in improving fashahatul qiro'ah (fluency in reading the Qur’an) at Riyadus Sholihin Qur’anic Education Park in Krejengan, Probolinggo. The Jibril Method is an innovative approach that emphasizes interactive learning through repeated practice, alternating reading between the teacher and students, and direct teacher guidance. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of learning documents. The results indicate that the application of the Jibril Method significantly enhances students’ fashahatul qiro'ah, as evidenced by improvements in letter pronunciation, application of tajwid rules, and reading fluency. The method’s success is supported by active teacher involvement, structured repetition, and high student motivation. However, challenges such as differences in students’ initial abilities and limited learning time were also identified. With proper time management and intensive guidance, the Jibril Method proves to be effective in enhancing Qur’anic reading skills. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for other Qur’anic educational institutions in optimizing their learning methods
