Abstract

Mathematics is an important part of education. Mathematics not only plays an important role in the realm of formal education, but also has a close connection with the culture around us. The aim of this research is to determine projective geometry in the form of building numbers and projective coordinates of the saoraja mallangga museum, which is located in kec. tempe, kab. wajo, south sulawesi. The research method used is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach, where data is collected through interviews, documentation and observation. The results of the research show that the building numbering and house diagrams at the saoraja mallangga museum obtained projective coordinates of . It is hoped that this research can improve students direct understanding of mathematical concepts through learning resources at cultural sites, especially at the simettengpola saoraja museum mallangga.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) abilities of students in the Teaching Practice Program (PPL) of the Mathematics Education Study Program at the State University of Makassar, specifically in integrating content knowledge, pedagogy, and technology in teaching practices. The study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive design to describe the level of TPACK mastery among the students. Data were collected from 30 students through a questionnaire designed to measure the three main aspects of TPACK: content knowledge (CK), pedagogical knowledge (PK), and technological knowledge (TK), as well as the students' ability to combine these three aspects in planning and implementing mathematics teaching. The results show that the students in the PPL Program of the PPG Study Program demonstrated good TPACK knowledge, as indicated by scores where 53% of students were in the high category and 47% in the medium category.

Abstract

The decorative pottery of Kampiri from Kampiri Village, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi, is tangible evidence of Indonesia's rich cultural heritage and local wisdom. This study explores the hidden meanings behind the beauty of Kampiri pottery through a geometric and topological approach. By analyzing the shapes, structures, and ornaments of the pottery, this research aims to understand the application of geometric and topological principles in the design of Kampiri's traditional artwork. Additionally, this study integrates concepts from integral calculus to assess and measure the curvature and complex surface areas of the pottery. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with ethnographic methods, involving direct interaction with artisans and field observations. Data collected includes the shapes, structures, ornaments, and pottery-making processes. Integral calculus analysis is applied to explore the relationship between geometric design and numerical values, such as volume and surface area, present in Kampiri pottery. The results of this study are expected to provide new insights into Kampiri pottery, open opportunities for the development of geometric, topological, and integral calculus applications in Nusantara art and design, and enhance appreciation for the local cultural heritage rich in meaning and aesthetic value. This approach to learning integral calculus is also expected to serve as an innovative method for understanding and appreciating traditional Indonesian art through a deeper mathematical perspective.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' metacognitive abilities in solving Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) questions in terms of emotional intelligence and learning styles. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research instruments used were tests in the form of AKM questions and interviews. The selection of subjects is based on the categorization level of the results of the emotional intelligence questionnaire and learning style. The results showed that students who have high emotional intelligence with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles, are able to plan, monitor, and evaluate the results of their work properly and accurately. However, students with high emotional intelligence with visual and kinesthetic learning styles are more able to express and explain the results of their thoughts clearly and coherently. Meanwhile, students who have low emotional intelligence with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles have not been able to plan, monitor, and evaluate their work properly. These students tend not to be able to understand the problem information and have not been able to plan the solution steps appropriately. In this study it was also found that students who have visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles do not have differences in the quality of the three styles or vice versa. Each student has their own characteristics in solving the problems given. This is largely influenced by the emotional intelligence possessed by students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komunikasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal geometri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 1 siswa berkemampuan tinggi, 1 siswa berkemampuan sedang dan 1 siswa berkemampuan rendah. Hasil analisis data, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa siswa berkemampuan tinggi dan siswa berkemampuan sedang dapat mencapai semua indikator-indikator komunikasi matematis pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa mampu menyajikan gambar yang sesuai, siswa juga mampu memahami masalah dengan mengoprasikan rumus, serta siswa mampu menggunakan notasi-notasi matematika dengan benar. Sedangkan siswa berkemampuan rendah hanya dapat mencapai indikator 1, yaitu siswa dapat menyajikan masalah kedalam bentuk gambar dengan sesuai.

Abstract

Four basic skills (4Cs) are essential for the 21st century, one of which is creativity and innovation. However, in reality, the level of creativity in Indonesia remains relatively low. To address this issue, it is necessary to implement appropriate learning activities to enhance students' creativity. One of the effective approaches is the application of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). This study aimed to determine whether students' creativity with the application of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with STEAM was more creative compared to the creativity of students with the application of the Project-Based Learning model without STEAM integration. This research employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method. The independent variables in this study are the STEAM-integrated PjBL model and the PjBL model without STEAM integration, while the dependent variable is students' creat. This research was a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental method. The independent variables in this study were the Project-Based Learning model integrated with STEAM and the Project-Based Learning model without STEAM integration, while the dependent variable was students' creativity. The data in this study were obtained by assigning projects in the form of a post-test (performance assessment and product assessment). The data analysis technique in this study was divided into two parts: descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis, specifically simple linear regression tests and independent sample t-tests.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of creative thinking on problem-solving abilities in mathematics among high school students through a meta-analysis approach. Creative thinking is considered a crucial skill that can enhance students' ability to tackle mathematical challenges in innovative and effective ways. This meta-analysis synthesizes results from 25 independent studies, with a total sample of 359 high school students meeting the inclusion criteria. The findings of the meta-analysis indicate that creative thinking has a significant positive impact on mathematical problem-solving abilities, with an average effect size (Cohen's d) of 0.75 (95% CI [0.60, 0.90]). The heterogeneity analysis reveals significant variability among the included studies, indicated by Q(24) = 55.84 and I² = 57.1%. Moderator factors such as teaching methods, educational context, and student characteristics were analyzed to further understand the variation in findings. Studies employing project-based learning or problem-based learning methods exhibited higher effect sizes (d = 0.85) compared to conventional teaching methods (d = 0.65). Additionally, students with high motivation levels and those in supportive educational environments demonstrated better outcomes in mathematical problem-solving (d = 0.90 and d = 0.80, respectively). These findings underscore the importance of integrating creativity-promoting approaches in high school mathematics curricula. Approaches such as problem-based learning and project-based learning can serve as effective strategies in enhancing students' creative thinking abilities.. Therefore, the findings of this study are expected to provide guidance for educators and policymakers in designing more effective and innovative teaching strategies.

Abstract

The use of printed book learning media with lots of writing is not effective for deaf students, resulting in low student conceptual understanding. Deaf students need learning media that can overcome their limitations in language and communication, by utilizing media that has a visual appearance. The purpose of this study is to develop valid interactive media with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on the material of the area of ​​flat shapes called "AISITARU". This study applies the Research and Development (R&D) research method with the ADDIE development model which is focused on the analysis, design, and development stages. This study produced an interactive learning media "AISITARU" with the results of the media expert validation assessment of 91.7% which is included in the very valid criteria, while the average score of the material expert is 87.6% with the very valid criteria. The results of the validation analysis of media experts and material experts of the "AISITARU" media obtained a combined average score of 89.65%, which is included in the very valid category. This proves that the "AISITARU" media meets the eligibility to be tested on deaf students in learning mathematics with the material of the area of ​​flat shapes.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 13 Makassar dengan penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri dan pembelajaran langsung. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 13 Makassar pada semester genap tahuan ajaran 2023/2024. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian adalah pretest and posttest control group design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cluster random sampling dengan dua kelas terpilih. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua instrumen yaitu tes awal (pretest) dan tes akhir (posttest). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil analisis deksriptif, diperoleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol adalah tinggi. Sedangkan hasil yang diperoleh dari analisis inferensial dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 13 Makassar. Kata kunci: Model Pembelajaran Inkuiri, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi telah merambah di beragam bidang tak terkecuali pada bidang pendidikan. Salah satu bentuk implementasi teknologi di bidang pendidikan adalah E-Modul yang sering dimanfaatkan untuk membantu siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat respon guru dan siswa serta mengevaluasinya dalam menggunakan E-Modul matematika berbasis problem based learning pendekatan STEM pada materi barisan dan deret bilangan. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan metode pendekatan kuantitatif secara deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar angket respon yang kemudian diperkuat hasilnya dengan wawancara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas X salah satu SMA di jepara melibatkan 38 peserta didik dan 1 orang guru matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai keseluruhan rata-rata respon guru sebesar 3,64 tegolong kategori sangat praktis serta nilai keseluruhan rata-rata peserta didik sebesar 3,41 tergolong kategori sangat praktis. Guru berpendapat materi yang disajikan dalam E-Modul memiliki cakupan luas dan lengkap dalam membantu pembelajaran. Menurut peserta didik E-Modul memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menarik dengan adanya berbagai unsur interaktif. Produk E-Modul terbukti dapat membantu siswa dalam belajar dan meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis serta layak untuk diimplementasikan ke dalam skala pembelajaran yang lebih luas. Tetapi diperlukan pengembangan dari segi desain, video pembelajaran dan variasi soal untuk penyempurnaan produk menjadi lebih baik.
