Abstract

This study is aimed to describe the direct or indirect relationships between principals' leadership style, organizational culture, and organizational climate and teachers' achievement motivation. A survey design was applied in this study. The sample was consisted of 317 teachers taken from the population of 1354 teachers. Data were collected with a set of questionnaire and analyzed statistically using percentages and multiple regresion. The study revealed that there was significant relationship between the all variables in this study.

Abstract

 Keberhasilan kepala sekolah mencapai tujuan pendidikan di sekolah ditentukan oleh kemampuan manajerialnya. Penelitian ini menguji model hubungan kausal antara pendidikan, pengalaman kerja, dan persepsi tentang tujuan pendidikan dengan performansi manajerial kepala sekolah. Data dikumpulkan dengan angket kepada 150 Kepala SD dalam sampel rambang proporsional. Ditemukan bahwa persepsi tentang tujuan pendidikan memiliki hubungan kausal secara langsung dengan performansi manajerial kepala sekolah. Namun tingkat pendidikan dan pengalaman kerja tidak memiliki hubungan kausal baik dengan persepsi tentang tujuan pendidikan maupun dengan performansi manajerial kepala sekolah.

Abstract

Textbook is a dominant factor affecting learning outcomes. This research aimed to examine the relevance of the textbook of Bahasa Indonesia to the Elementary School Curriculum 1994 in terms of its approaches, objectives of the course, learning themes, and learning contents. In this descriptive study, the researcher's role was as a subject and as the main instrument. Through a documentary analysis, this research concluded that, in terms of its approaches, objectives, learning themes, and learning contents, the textbook of Bahasa Indonesia was relevant to the curriculum. Nevertheless, there were a number of learning items that were not accomodated in the textbook.

Abstract

The aim of this study were to identify the implementation of teacher assessment in primary mathematics and the implementation of planning in primary mathematics teaching, and to examine the relationship between the results of teacher assessment and planning in the teaching of primary mathematics. This study was conducted in two primary schools in North of London. Four teachers from each school were involved in completing the questionnaire and interview. The results indicated that there were four models of relationship between teacher assessment and the planning of mathematics teaching: the teacher assessed the children to see their level of understanding, assessed the children in a systematic and continous process, related the results of assessment to the planning of mathematics teaching on a daily basis, and related the results of assessment to their planning of mathematics teaching in the long-term (half-termly basis).

Abstract

e-Learning, a learning model through internet, can be categorized as distance education. e-Learning involves education management, information technology (i.e., internet), and education technology. Such a learning model helps lecturers, teachers, college students, and other education practitioners improve the quality of the teaching learning process, especially through the establishment of communication network, correspondence, and discussion groups. It can also build linkages with other web-based learning resources in education-related as well as other fields.

Abstract

Management of Educational Quality Improvement. Educational total quality management is the integration of all functions and processes within an educational organization in order to achieve continous improvement of the quality of school outputs and services. The main objective is the satisfaction of the clients or costumers. In the educational or school organization, there are three basic definitions of quality: quality assurance, contract conformance, and costumer driven. The application of TQM in the context of educational organization is based on a framework that educational managers are able to make the process of improvement.

Banyak jenis evaluasi yang dapat dipilih, di samping banyak masalah yang harus dipecahkan, agar evaluasi kebijaksanaan pendidikan mencapai tujuannya.

Abstract

Masalah kualitas pendidikan tetap aktual untuk didiskusikan. Standar baku kualitas pendidikan tergambar pada rumusan tujuan pendidikan nasional. Salah satu upaya aktualisasi pendidikan berkualitas adalah melalui perubahan kurikulum. Sasaran akhir perubahan kurikulum terletak pada aspek proses belajar-mengajar. Kurikulum dan pengajaran ibarat dua sisi mata uang. Dimensi kurikulum sebagai rencana pendidikan ada yang bersifat makro dan mikro. Pada jenjang pendidikan tinggi kurikulum mikro lazim dinamakan silabus. Dosen wajib menyusun silabus mata kuliah binaannya. Silabus memiliki makna penting bagi pengajar dan mahasiswa.

Abstract

This classroom action research (CAR) was conducted to describe the effectiveness of the use of handicraft design and model in teaching arts. It implemented a cycle model involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were fourth graders of the Laboratory Elementary School, Malang. Data were collected by using a participatory observation while the action was going on. The results indicated that handicraft design and model were always needed in teaching arts. The media helped improve the pupils' motivation in creating mosaics, sculptures, and reliefs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pengajaran Bahasa Inggris di SD. Populasi adalah guru Bahasa Inggris dan siswa kelas IV, V dan VI di delapan SD di Kotamadya Blitar. Sampel total guru berjumlah 10 orang, dan siswa berjumlah 350 orang yang diambil secara rambang sederhana. Data dikumpulkan dengan observasi, wawancara, angket dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan statistik persentase dan rerata. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pendekatan, pemilihan dan pengembangan bahan, kemampuan guru dalam merencanakan dan melaksanakan pengajaran, serta media dan sumber belajar pada umumnya sangat kurang. Kualifikasi guru cukup memadai, minat dan motivasi berprestasi sangat baik, dan prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa tergolong cukup.
