Abstract

The difference in the meaning of vocabulary between regional languages is an interesting linguistic phenomenon to study, especially in words that have the same form but are used in different language systems. One example of this phenomenon is the word sangu in Sundanese and Javanese. This study aims to analyze the differences in the lexical and pragmatic meanings of the word sangu in both languages. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a semantic and pragmatic approach. The research data was obtained from Sundanese and Javanese dictionaries and examples of speech from speakers in the context of everyday interactions. The results show that lexically, the word sangu in Sundanese is generally interpreted as ‘rice’ or ‘staple food’, while in Javanese, the word sangu is more often used to refer to ‘provisions’ in general. Pragmatically, these differences in meaning are influenced by the context of use, cultural background, and language habits of the speakers. These findings indicate that understanding the meaning of words across regional languages requires attention to linguistic and cultural aspects in order to reduce the potential for misunderstanding in communication.

Abstract

The analysis of base sectors is a crucial component of regional economic development planning to promote sustainable growth. This study aims to identify base sectors and analyze the dynamics and structural shifts of the economy of Ciamis Regency relative to West Java Province based on sectoral Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) data at constant prices. The analytical methods employed are the Location Quotient (LQ) to determine base and non-base sectors, and the Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) to examine sectoral growth trends over time. The results indicate that several sectors in Ciamis Regency have LQ values greater than one, reflecting comparative advantages over West Java Province. Furthermore, the DLQ analysis reveals that some sectors classified as non-base sectors structurally exhibit higher growth rates compared to the reference region. This condition suggests the existence of economic dynamics and potential shifts in the regional base sectors. Therefore, the combined use of LQ and DLQ provides a more comprehensive understanding of the current condition and future prospects of regional economic sectors. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for formulating more targeted and effective economic development policies in Ciamis Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of digital transformation on financial performance, with operational efficiency as a mediating variable, in the Indonesian banking sector. The background of this study is based on the massive adoption of digital technology in the banking industry, which requires significant capital investment, potentially having a dual impact in the form of increased revenue and pressure on banks' operating expenses. This study uses a quantitative approach with a panel data regression method to estimate the relationship between variables. The study population includes commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with samples drawn using a purposive sampling technique during the 2015–2024 period, resulting in data from 25 banks that meet the criteria. The analysis technique involves selecting the best model through the Chow and Hausman test, the classical assumption test, and the Sobel test for mediation. The results show that digital transformation has a positive effect on operating expenses and also has a significant positive and direct effect on financial performance. Operational efficiency has been shown to have a significant negative effect on financial performance. Furthermore, operational efficiency plays a significant role as a mediating variable in the relationship between digital transformation and financial performance, with a negative indirect effect. These findings confirm that while digital transformation is a strategic asset capable of boosting revenue according to the Resource-Based View theory, its success in increasing profitability depends heavily on management's ability to efficiently control investment costs.

Abstract

The transformation of digital payment systems in public transportation has encouraged MRT Jakarta to implement Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology through the ALLRIDE Charm product. However, the adoption of this technology may generate user resistance. This study aims to analyze the effects of switching costs, switching benefits, and perceived value on user resistance toward the use of the RFID-based payment system ALLRIDE Charm in MRT Jakarta. This research employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative research design. Data were collected from 306 MRT Jakarta users through an online questionnaire using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results indicate that switching costs and perceived value have a significant effect on user resistance, while switching benefits do not show a significant effect. These findings suggest that users’ perceptions of switching costs and perceived value are the primary factors influencing resistance to the adoption of RFID-based payment systems. In addition, this study develops an RFID reader application prototype as a practical contribution to support the implementation of ALLRIDE Charm. This research provides theoretical contributions to technology adoption studies in the context of public transportation and practical implications for MRT Jakarta in enhancing user acceptance of RFID-based payment systems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of perceived quality, online customer reviews, and influencer characteristics including trustworthiness, expertise, and attractiveness on skincare purchase intention among digital consumers. This study employs a quantitative approach using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method through SmartPLS. The research respondents consist of 302 individuals aged 18–28 years who actively seek skincare information through digital media, selected using a purposive sampling technique, with a research instrument comprising 30 statement items. The results indicate that perceived quality, expertise, and attractiveness have a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, while trustworthiness has no significant effect. In addition, online customer reviews show a significant negative effect, indicating that biased online reviews can reduce purchase intention. As a practical implication, the findings of this study are implemented in an artificial intelligence-based application prototype named SKINLYTIC, which serves as a decision support system to facilitate more rational and informed skincare purchase decisions.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of increasing retail investor participation in the digital era and rising global economic uncertainty affecting capital market dynamics. This study aims to analyze the influence of behavioral finance aspects proxied by investor attention and global macroeconomic aspects proxied by US Economic Policy Uncertainty (US EPU) on stock market performance, specifically stock return and stock liquidity. The unit of analysis in this study is the banking companies under the Core Capital Bank Group (KBMI) 4 category listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), selected due to their largest market capitalization and high liquidity. This study employs a quantitative approach using daily secondary data. The data analysis technique used is panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) estimation, corrected using Robust Standard Error (White) to address heteroscedasticity issues. Hypothesis testing was conducted to observe the partial and simultaneous effects of independent variables on dependent variables. The results reveal diverse empirical findings. First, investor attention proxied by Google Search Volume Index (GSVI) has a negative and significant effect on stock return, indicating that a surge in information search is interpreted by the market as a risk signal due to information asymmetry, thereby triggering selling pressure. Second, investor attention has a positive and significant effect on stock liquidity, proving that information dissemination can encourage market participation. Third, US EPU does not have a significant effect on stock return, demonstrating the high resilience of Indonesia's banking fundamentals against global issues. Fourth, US EPU has a negative and significant effect on stock liquidity due to investors' wait-and-see behavior. This study recommends that investors be more rational in filtering digital information to avoid momentary panic, and suggests that regulators monitor digital sentiment as an early indicator of market volatility.

Abstract

The dance work Di Antara Pijak Patah is grounded in the Minangkabau philosophy of Bajanjang Naiak Batanggo Turun, a life principle that emphasizes order, process, and ethical conduct in social life. This philosophy has long served as a foundation for shaping social etiquette within Minangkabau society, particularly in intergenerational relationships, both within the family and in broader social contexts. However, alongside rapid social change and technological advancement, these values have gradually shifted, especially among younger generations who tend to prioritize speed and instant achievement over meaningful processes. This condition has contributed to a decline in ethical awareness, manners, and mutual respect in everyday social interactions. These circumstances form the basis for the creation of this dance work as a medium of reflection and social critique on contemporary social realities. Di Antara Pijak Patah is realized as an abstract contemporary dance with a social theme. The creative process involves several stages, including data collection, observation, exploration, improvisation, structuring, and evaluation. Movement development focuses on the exploration of space, time, and energy, combined with symbolic bodily expressions and the use of a ladder as a prop to represent the moral journey of the younger generation. This metaphor illustrates the rise and fall of ethical values and the fragility of moral foundations when social norms are neglected. The work is performed by four female dancers and accompanied by live music, which serves to enhance the dramatic atmosphere and reinforce the overall structure of the performance. Through Di Antara Pijak Patah, the choreographer seeks to convey a moral message regarding the importance of social etiquette, respect for process, and ethical awareness as fundamental aspects of social life. This work is expected to function as a space for reflection for younger generations while also contributing to the development of contemporary dance creation rooted in local cultural values.

Abstract

The dance work LINTAS JIWA is a contemporary abstract dance that explores a social theme and is rooted in the creator’s empirical experiences during the process of higher education. These experiences are shaped by various academic, social, and personal pressures, which are then integrated with the spiritual values of Imam Husein’s struggle as reflected in the Arak Sorban procession of Bengkulu. The values of perseverance, sacrifice, and sincerity serve as the main foundation of this work and are expressed as a reflection of the creator’s inner journey in responding to the dynamics of life. This work is presented as a group dance performed by seven female dancers, symbolizing interconnected and mutually supportive human spiritual journeys. The ideas are not conveyed through a narrative structure, but through symbolic body movements explored intuitively and expressively. The creative process applies Alma M. Hawkins’ method, which consists of exploration, improvisation, composition, and evaluation, resulting in a cohesive and meaningful structure. In addition to movement elements, the work is supported by music and video mapping as visual graphics that enhance the atmosphere and reinforce the meaning of the performance. Through LINTAS JIWA, the creator aims to present a reflective aesthetic experience and to open a space for contemplation on the meaning of struggle in human life.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi di era digital telah memberikan kemudahan ke dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan manusia, termasuk dalam hal komunikasi, transportasi, serta sektor keuangan. Perubahan yang terjadi di dalam sektor keuangan ini salah satunya ialah inovasi teknologi pembayaran non-tunai atau QRIS. Namun, tidak semua pelaku UMKM mampu beradaptasi dengan digitalisasi transaksi dan pengelolaan keuangan, sehingga memunculkan perbedaan dalam efektivitas usaha dan pencapaian pendapatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan QRIS dan literasi keuangan digital terhadap pendapatan UMKM di Kabupaten Sumbawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui penyebaran kuisioner kepada pelaku UMKM, populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 1.362, penentuan sampel menggunakan rumus slovin dengan total sampel sebanyak 100 responden dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan QRIS dan literasi keuangan digital berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pendapatan UMKM secara parsial maupun simultan, yang berarti semakin optimal penggunaan QRIS dan semakin baik literasi keuangan digital pelaku UMKM, maka semakin tinggi potensi peningkatan pendapatan usaha. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis dalam memperkuat kajian digitalisasi sektor UMKM serta implikasi praktis bagi pelaku usaha, pemerintah, dan penyedia layanan keuangan dalam mendorong literasi digital dan adopsi sistem pembayaran berbasis teknologi guna mendukung peningkatan pendapatan UMKM di era digital.

Abstract

Listening ability is an essential skill in learning English and plays an important role in daily communication, especially in understanding spoken messages. However, many students still experience difficulties in listening comprehension, particularly in recognizing and distinguishing homophones. This study aims to analyze and describe the listening ability of third-semester students of class 3B, English Education Department, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, in identifying English homophones. It also examines which homophones most frequently cause errors and identifies the factors influencing these difficulties, as well as the instructional implications.This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The data were collected through a homophone listening test consisting of ten multiple-choice questions and five essay questions. The findings reveal that students’ ability to recognize homophones varies. Homophones with high phonological similarity tend to cause more errors, especially when they are presented without sufficient contextual support. In addition, factors such as speech rate, speaker accent, cognitive load, and limited listening practice contribute to students’ difficulties in understanding homophones. These findings highlight the importance of implementing more contextual and structured listening instruction to help students better understand and distinguish homophones.
