Abstract

Inclusivity emphasizing the acceptance and appreciation of diversity without discrimination is crucial in youth organizations such as Karang Taruna, a village-level platform for adolescent development in Indonesia. This community service paper examines the role of inclusivity in strengthening adolescent mental health within Karang Taruna Kalisegoro, Gunungpati, Semarang. The initiative was carried out by a multidisciplinary team from Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) through a one-day workshop on mental health literacy and inclusive leadership for 20 administrators and members of Karang Taruna. The methods included interactive lectures, case analysis using documentary films on adolescent mental health disorders, peer tutorials, and facilitated group discussions, grounded in Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Model. Results revealed a significant increase in participants’ understanding of mental health issues, early recognition of mental disorder symptoms, reduced stigma, and commitment to establishing a mental health-aware community integrated with Karang Taruna and the village government. Participants also reported enhanced confidence in inclusive leadership and the ability to foster mutually supportive environments, supporting all six dimensions of Ryff’s psychological well-being. Recommendations include sustained cross-sector collaboration, expansion of literacy programs, and further empirical research to measure the long-term impact of inclusivity on adolescent mental health indicators.

Abstract

Ultra-micro enterprises (UMi) in Candi Sub District face fundamental challenges that hinder their business growth, including difficulties in determining an accurate cost of goods sold (COGS), weak financial management, low awareness of the importance of product branding, and limited business legality ownership. This community service program aimed to enhance the managerial capabilities of business owners through interactive training, direct mentoring, and continuous evaluation. The implementation methods included lectures, discussions, QnA sessions, simulations, and mentoring, carried out in three stages: needs analysis, training implementation (COGS and financial management, personal branding, and business legality), and follow-up evaluation and mentoring. The results show an increase in participants' ability to calculate COGS by considering all production costs, which is reflected in a 20.6% increase in understanding based on the pre-post test, as well as the application of simple financial management through the practice of separating business and personal finances which has begun to be implemented by 35 participants. Participants were also able to build a more professional brand identity by developing logos, taglines, packaging, and consistent social media strategies. Additionally, there was an increased awareness of the importance of business legality as a gateway to financing and broader market opportunities. This program has had a positive impact on participants’ professionalism, competitiveness, and business sustainability, and it has the potential to serve as a model for empowering similar business communities.

Abstract

Village fund management requires oversight to ensure financial accountability and reduce the potential for irregularities. In accordance with Law No. 6 of 2014 on Villages, the allocation of village funds reflects the government’s commitment to fostering independent, progressive, and democratic rural communities. Giling Village, Pabelan District, Semarang Regency, continues to face non-compliance with Minister of Home Affairs Regulation (Permendagri) No. 20 of 2018 and encounters challenges within its Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes), particularly in organizational structuring, legal formalization, and adherence to Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles. The community service program consists of three main components: (1) identifying gaps in the Village SDGs; (2) facilitating the official registration of BUMDes to ensure regulatory compliance; and (3) delivering training on financial accountability and GCG in village fund management. These efforts are expected to increase progress in achieving village SDGs, especially in the areas of economic empowerment and sustainable development. . Mapping results show that the village has achieved 41% of its SDG indicators. The highest priorities fall under Typology III (health) and Typology V (education), while the lowest priorities are found in Typology IV (environment) and Typology VII (networked village). Through structured financial governance, the legal transformation of BUMDes, and capacity-building initiatives for village administrators, the program aims to strengthen financial transparency, accountability, and sustainable economic empowerment in the village.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) serve as a cornerstone of the national economy, yet they continue to face significant challenges in terms of promotion and digital transformation. Kaloris Herbal Beverage MSME, as a producer of natural-based products, holds substantial potential in line with the growing trend of healthy lifestyles. However, its marketing practices remain largely conventional, relying primarily on word-of-mouth promotion. The major obstacles encountered include weak branding efforts, limited digital content management, and underutilization of social media and online marketplaces. To address these issues, this community engagement program applied a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, emphasizing training in digital marketing strategies such as social media optimization, visual content creation, and marketplace management. The outcomes demonstrate that Kaloris MSME successfully established a more consistent digital identity, reflected in a significant increase in social media followers, engagement rates, and local consumer orders. This surge in digital interaction was also accompanied by positive consumer responses regarding product quality and packaging. Thus, strengthening digital marketing strategies has proven effective in expanding local market reach, enhancing brand awareness, and improving the competitiveness of herbal beverage MSMEs in the digital economy era.

Abstract

Palm sugar production in Semarang Regency has excellent potential to the abundance of palm trees that thrive. One of the production centers is Kalisidi Village, which is located on a plateau with hilly topography and green vegetation. The local community has maintained traditional production methods for generations, from manual sap harvesting to natural firewood processing. Although these products have authentic appeal and high quality, manufacturers face the challenge of increasingly fierce competition with other businesses that have adopted modern technology. Strategic solutions can be implemented to help palm sugar MSMEs in Kalisidi Village maintain a sustainable competitive advantage through innovation in packaging design. Packaging design training using applications such as Canva are expected to produce attractive, informative, and functional packaging that can increase product appeal while strengthening the brand image. Digital marketing through e-commerce platforms is an advanced  strategic solution to expand market reach. Assistance in digital business processes can increase understanding of data-based marketing and direct interaction with consumers. With the implementation of this community service program, participants have gained an understanding of how to create innovative packaging designs and develop appropriate digital marketing strategies. The follow-up to this community service activity is the continued guidance and monitoring of participants to ensure the sustained implementation of innovative packaging design and effective digital marketing strategies.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren are increasingly paying attention to environmental issues, sustainability, and the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as striving to provide life skills for students (Santri) through training and self-development activities. This article explains the impact of utilizing a mini greenhouse to improve students’ agricultural skills through a community service program at Pondok Pesantren Al Asror Semarang, targeting 15 students. The activities were carried out over five months (May to September 2025) in the form of training and assistance in using the mini greenhouse. The training introduced the mini greenhouse and its benefits, after which the students worked together to prepare and build it within the pondok pesantren environment. The next activities included plant cultivation, starting from seed sowing, planting, and caring for the plants until harvest time, under the guidance and supervision of the community service team. The students were highly enthusiastic and motivated to make use of the mini greenhouse, and they received support from the pondok pesantren leaders to enhance their life skills. The students then continued using the mini greenhouse for organic vegetable cultivation, starting from sowing to harvest time.
