Abstract

Early marriage is a significant risk factor that contributes to stunting, a condition of failure to thrive that can have long-term impacts on children's health and development. This educational program aims to increase students' understanding of SMPN 3 Suppa, Pinrang Regency about the relationship between early marriage and the risk of stunting. Activities are carried out through counseling which involves the delivery of educational material, interactive discussions to explore students' understanding in depth, as well as evaluation using pre-test and post-test. The material provided includes the definition of early marriage, stunting, health impacts, as well as the importance of optimal nutrition and parenting patterns. The evaluation results show a significant increase in student understanding, from 30% on the pre-test to 85% on the post-test. Interactive discussions also revealed cultural challenges and lack of awareness as supporting factors for early marriage. This program makes an important contribution to efforts to prevent stunting through youth education and is hoped to be the first step in involving the wider community, including parents and the surrounding community. Abstract

The prevalence of stunting is still quite high. Specific nutritional interventions to prevent stunting are carried out from preconception age, especially in preventing anemia and women of childbearing age having normal nutritional status. The aim of this activity is to provide education and screen nutritional status for young women. The activity was carried out at SMKN 7, Suppa District, Pinrang Regency. Activities are carried out by providing education about anemia, symptoms, cut off points for someone who is said to have anemia and how to prevent and overcome it. In this activity, nutritional status was also measured in the form of checking Hb levels and upper arm circumference in class IX female students. Students' knowledge before and after education was measured using a questionnaire. The results of the implementation of the activity showed an increase in female students' knowledge regarding anemia and from the results of measuring nutritional status it was found that 5% of teenagers experienced anemia and 33.3% experienced chronic energy deficiency (KEK). It is hoped that there is a need for ongoing education to teenagers, especially regarding anemia and also about the importance of consuming Fe tablets. Monitoring to regularly consume the Fe tablets that have been given also needs to be done to prevent teenagers from experiencing anemia

Abstract

Water and environmental management issues in rural areas remain a significant challenge that directly affects community well-being. One of the most common problems encountered is waterlogging caused by high rainfall and the limited availability of natural drainage systems. To address this issue, biopore technology has been implemented in Lipukasi Village, Tanete Rilau Sub-district, Barru Regency. This program was also designed to raise public awareness of the importance of water conservation and sustainable environmental management through the use of biopores. The implementation method employed a participatory approach, involving local residents directly in the construction of biopore infiltration holes at several strategic locations within the village. The activity focused not only on technical aspects but also emphasized education through training and community outreach. Evaluation results indicate that the application of biopore technology has had a positive impact, marked by improved soil absorption capacity, reduced water stagnation, and increased soil fertility due to natural composting processes occurring within the biopores. The success of this program demonstrates that biopore technology offers a practical and environmentally friendly solution for water management in rural areas.

Abstract

In an increasingly sophisticated and modern age, people's eating habits that prioritize convenience over health have led to an increase in non-communicable diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common diseases suffered by the Indonesian people, even Indonesia is ranked 7th in the world with the highest number of diabetics according to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF). Adolescents are a high-risk group because they often consume unhealthy foods without a healthy lifestyle. Based on these conditions, health promotion activities regarding the risk of diabetes mellitus were carried out at SMAN 4 Sidrap by students of the Public Health Study Program of Muhammadiyah University of Parepare. The purpose of this activity was to increase adolescents' knowledge about diabetes mellitus, including symptoms, risk factors, and preventive measures. The method used was education through lectures with PowerPoint media to 26 class XII students. The material presented included normal blood sugar levels, classic symptoms of diabetes, risk groups, and eight steps for early prevention of diabetes. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of diabetes mellitus, which was shown by active participation during the discussion session. Health education like this is important to be carried out on an ongoing basis to foster early awareness of non-communicable diseases, especially among adolescents
