Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the Student Facilitator And Explaining learning model assisted by Dopesen media on the conceptual understanding ability of fifth grade elementary school students. The type of research used is Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students of Ungaran 02 Elementary School. The sample used in this study was non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study was fifth grade of Ungaran 02 Elementary School. Data collection techniques used were test techniques and non-test techniques. The test technique used pretest and posttest while the non-test technique used observation, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques with normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests and simple linear regression. The results of the study showed: (1) There was a difference in students' conceptual understanding abilities regarding the use of the Student Facilitator And Explaining model assisted by Dopesen media, with a significance value of 0.010 < 0.05 (2) There was an influence of the use of the Student Facilitator And Explaining learning model assisted by Dopesen media on students' conceptual understanding abilities with a significance value of 0.003 (<0.05).

Abstract

In the modern era, keeping pets is no longer merely a recreational activity but is also considered to provide significant psychological benefits. Interactions between humans and pets can foster feelings of happiness, a sense of belonging, and improved overall quality of life. One concept that explains this phenomenon is attachment, an emotional bond typically formed between individuals, but which can also occur between pet owners and their animals. This study aims to describe the emotional attachment between cat owners and their pets in the Karawang region. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method with an incidental sampling technique. A total of 110 cat owners residing in Karawang, aged between 18 and 40 years, participated in this study. The instrument used to measure attachment was the Lexington Attachment to Pets Scale (LAPS). Data analysis included descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation analysis, and an independent samples t-test to identify differences in attachment levels based on gender. The findings revealed that the majority of respondents exhibited a high level of emotional attachment to their cats. Specifically, 98 respondents (89.1%) were categorized as having a high attachment level, while the remaining participants showed a moderate level of attachment. Further analysis on gender differences provided additional insights into patterns of pet attachment among cat owners in Karawang. These findings emphasize that cats are not only pets but also serve as an important source of emotional support and psychological well-being for their owners.

Abstract

The rapid utilization of the internet as a 21st-century learning resource makes digital literacy an essential competency that students need to possess, in addition to critical thinking skills. Therefore, it is necessary to develop technology-based learning media to support the improvement of both skills. This study aims to develop Google Sites-based learning media to enhance students' digital literacy abilities and learning outcomes. This research is a development study (R&D) referring to the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were teachers and 11th-grade students of the Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) program at SMKN 1 Kwanyar. The developed learning media demonstrated results categorized as highly feasible, practical, and effective for use in the learning process of the Network System Administration subject. The effectiveness assessment results showed that student learning activity was classified as very active, and there was a significant improvement in critical thinking skills, indicated by an average N-Gain score of 0.75, which falls into the moderately effective category. Validation from experts showed that this learning media obtained a score of 90% from media expert validators, 93% from material expert validators, and 95% from educator assessments, all of which were in the "Very Valid" category. Trials at various scales also supported the feasibility of the media, with results of 90% in individual trials, 92% in small group trials, and 94% in large group trials—all falling into the "highly feasible" category. The literacy improvement results obtained a percentage of 95% in the "Very High" category. Thus, the Google Sites-based learning media is declared suitable for use in improving literacy and learning outcomes in the Network System Administration subject.

Abstract

This study originated from the high rate of delinquent behavior among adolescents in schools, which risks disrupting their personal and social development. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of adolescent delinquency and analyze its impact on personal and social guidance programs at UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang for the 2024/2025 academic year. The method used in this study was quantitative descriptive, taking a full sample of 28 students from class VIII A. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling with a measurement tool in the form of a questionnaire on juvenile delinquency. The questionnaire used a Likert scale with four answer choices and had been tested for validity through Pearson's Product Moment correlation and reliability. Based on data analysis, the results of this study show that the average juvenile delinquency score reached 154.21 with a standard deviation of 14.66 and a standard error of 2.77. At a significance level of 5% (z = 1.96), the confidence interval was in the range of 148.78 to 159.64. Therefore, the level of juvenile delinquency among students in class VIII A of UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang is classified as very high, covering aspects of delinquency that cause physical harm to others, delinquency that causes material loss, social delinquency that does not cause harm, and delinquency that violates norms. Factors influencing this behavior originate from both internal and external sources, such as family, school, community, and technological influences. The results of this study emphasize the importance of implementing personal and social guidance programs in schools to improve self-control, social skills, communication, and responsibility in adolescents. It is hoped that the results of this study can serve as a guide for guidance and counseling teachers in designing more effective services to reduce deviant behavior and create a better learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate subject teachers' perspectives on the professional competence of guidance and counseling (BK) teachers at SMAN 4 Kupang for the 2024/2025 academic year. The professional competencies studied include the ability to conduct assessments, mastery of theory, design and implement guidance programs, evaluation, and the application of ethics in the profession. These competencies are considered important because they measure the quality of BK teachers in helping students overcome various problems, both academic and non-academic. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach supplemented by quantitative data to obtain a more comprehensive and objective picture. The sample in this study consisted of 77 subject teachers selected using a purposive sampling technique based on their direct involvement in the teaching and learning process and interactions with BK teachers. Data were collected through questionnaires to obtain quantitative information, observations to assess field practices, interviews to deepen views, and documentation to supplement empirical evidence. Data analysis was carried out using frequency distributions, calculations of means, standard deviations, and 5% confidence intervals to ensure the accuracy of the results. In addition, qualitative analysis was conducted using data triangulation to ensure more valid and accountable interpretations. The research findings indicate that the professional competency scores of guidance and counseling teachers fall into the high category, with an average score of 263.61 and a confidence interval of 259.61–267.60.

Abstract

This article discusses the phenomenon of student demonstrations against the policy of increasing allowances for members of the House of Representatives (DPR) through the perspective of the sociology of education. The allowance increase, perceived as a form of political elites’ insensitivity to the economic conditions of society, triggered a wave of student protests that regarded the policy as a symbol of structural injustice. This study employs a literature review method by examining academic literature, sociological theories, and relevant media reports. The analysis is conducted using the approaches of structural functionalism and conflict theory. From the functionalist perspective, student actions are understood as a response to social dysfunctions that disrupt societal stability, while conflict theory emphasizes the dimension of class struggle between political elites and the wider community. Education, in this context, plays a central role in shaping students’ critical awareness through curriculum, academic interactions, and organizational experiences that cultivate sensitivity to issues of social justice. Student demonstrations are not spontaneous reactions, but manifestations of an educational process that fosters critical and reflective thinking as well as the courage to challenge the status quo. This movement demonstrates that students serve as agents of change who not only advocate for public interests but also safeguard morality and the accountability of power. Thus, this phenomenon underscores the strategic role of higher education in producing a generation that is critically empowered and committed to democracy and social justice, while also highlighting that student actions hold significant relevance in maintaining the balance between the state, society, and academic ideals

Abstract

This study is motivated by the growing use of social media among adolescents, which fosters social comparison and body image formation that may influence self-confidence. Adolescence is a crucial developmental phase in which identity formation is highly shaped by exposure to social and aesthetic standards in digital environments. This research aims to analyze the relationship between social comparison and body image toward adolescents’ self-confidence on social media. A quantitative correlational approach was applied to 400 adolescents aged 17–19 years in Indonesia who actively use social media for at least two hours per day. The instruments included validated and reliable scales of social comparison, body image, and self-confidence. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 25.0. The results indicate that social comparison and body image have a positive and significant effect on adolescents’ self-confidence (p < 0.001), with an R² value of 0.602, meaning both variables explain 60.2% of the variance in self-confidence. These findings suggest that social comparison is not always detrimental but can serve as a motivational mechanism when conducted adaptively. The study highlights the importance of digital literacy and positive self-image education for adolescents to foster healthy self-confidence in the digital age.

Abstract

Hadiths that were revealed in the 7th century in the Arabian nation have historical and normative content. Hadith in the historical framework means that it cannot be separated from the horizon, culture and patrons that surround it. Meanwhile, the hadith in the normative framework means the teachings and values contained in the hadith. Knowing which one is historical and which one is relative must be done with various approaches so as not to be trapped in a rigid and static meaning that causes the hadith to be overtaken by the times. This article aims to examine the understanding of the predictive hadith about Dajjal using Gracia's hermeneutic approach. Gracia in relation to dissecting the text divides it into three aspects; namely historical function, meaning function and implicative function. Through Gracia's approach, it can be concluded that the traditions related to Dajjal are historical and in accordance with the context in which they were delivered to the audience at that time. Hadiths about Dajjal that are historical in nature cannot be understood contextually as the original text, because holding on to the original text will contradict the context and the development of science. For example, the issue of swords, close-range warfare and so on. The Hadith of Dajjal as an implicative meaning can be interpreted as anyone who deceives and causes damage on earth, making it more universal and accepted by all groups.

Abstract

Film is a form of modern literary work that combines visual and audio elements, enabling it to convey specific ideas, concepts, and messages to the public. Viewers, as recipients of the message, not only enjoy films as a means of entertainment but also often interpret them as representations of real life. This is due to the many films that present simple storylines, close to everyday life, yet still leave a deep impression. Thus, film has a dual function: as a medium of entertainment and a medium of social communication that voices various issues that arise in society. This research uses a context-oriented approach, namely a method of interpreting literary works that emphasizes the relationship between the text and the social and psychological contexts that underlie it. In this study, the analysis focuses on the main character, Will Hunting, in the film Good Will Hunting, who experiences fear of abandonment. The analysis is conducted through the framework of Litz and Keane's trauma response theory. Fear of abandonment is a form of psychological disorder that is generally eliminated from past traumatic experiences, such as rejection or neglect. This trauma then causes anxiety that affects interpersonal relationships in adulthood. The results show that individuals with a fear of being liked tend to take various precautions to reject new bonds and meaningful relationships. Will Hunting's character reflects a rejection and avoidance of emotional intimacy with others. He also employs defense mechanisms such as repression, rationalization, and sublimation to ward off potential self-destruction resulting from his internal conflict. By dwelling on painful memories, he builds a psychological barrier to protect himself, even though it ultimately limits the possibility of building healthy relationships.

Abstract

The sustainability of tourism villages is a significant issue amidst the dynamics of tourism and social change. One of the key elements influencing this sustainability is social capital, which encompasses trust, networks, and collective norms within the community. Kandri Village is an education and culture-based tourism village that relies on the active involvement of the community in destination management and development. This research aims to analyze strategies for strengthening social capital in supporting the sustainability of Kandri Tourism Village. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design using interview, observation, and documentacion techniques. Interviews were conducted with various informants, including  the Head of Pokdarwis (Tourism Awareness Group), community leaders, Pokdarwis members, business actors, village officials, and the general public. Data were analyzed thematically to identify strategic patterns and forms of social collaboration that emerged. The research findings indicate that social capital is strengthened through regular training for Pokdarwis members, cross-group mutual cooperation (gotong royong), participation in community forums, partnerships with government and universities, and collaboration in managing education and religious-based tourism destinations. Social capital in the form of trust, mutual cooperation, and solidarity becomes the main strength, maintaining harmony among residents and ensuring the continuity of tourism activities. This study concludes that strategies for strengthening social capital play a significant role in supporting the sustainability of tourism villages across social, economic, and institutional dimensions.
