Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of body image on psychological well-being among Generation Z K-pop fans in Karawang. Using a quantitative approach and a causal associative research design, the study involved 351 respondents who are K-pop fans residing in Karawang. The sampling technique employed was convenience sampling, which allows for the selection of respondents based on accessibility. The measurement tool used for assessing psychological well-being is a scale based on the dimensions proposed by Ryff, which includes self-acceptance, positive relations with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth. This scale is designed to assess an individual’s psychological well-being comprehensively. Meanwhile, body image was measured using the Multidimensional Body Self-Relation Questionnaire-Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS) developed by Cash and Pruzinsky. This scale evaluates how individuals perceive their bodies, including aspects of body satisfaction and physical appearance. The data were analyzed using normality tests, linearity tests, and simple linear regression tests to examine the relationship between body image and psychological well-being. The results showed a significance value of 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05. This indicates that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, meaning there is a significant effect of body image on psychological well-being among Generation Z K-pop fans in Karawang. Additionally, the coefficient of determination test revealed that body image contributes 40.8% to psychological well-being among K-pop fans. This finding suggests that a positive body image can improve psychological well-being, highlighting the importance of maintaining a healthy body image for supporting mental health among Generation Z. The findings offer valuable insights into the relationship between body image and mental health among K-pop fans in Karawang.

Abstract

This study comprehensively examines the responsibilities of Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers in improving the quality of student learning, encompassing academic, character, faith, and spiritual aspects. Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers function not only as instructors delivering subject matter but also as educators, mentors, and role models of Christian life, bearing moral and spiritual responsibilities in shaping students' personalities. The role of Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers is highly strategic, as they play a vital role in instilling faith values, building learning motivation, and shaping students' character with integrity. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with purposeful sampling, involving Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers with at least five years of teaching experience to ensure the depth of the data obtained. Data were collected through classroom observations, portfolio documentation, teacher reflections, and open-ended questionnaires to obtain a realistic picture of teaching practices. Analysis was conducted descriptively to highlight the phenomena occurring in the field. The results indicate that the responsibilities of Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers include sistem lesson planning, setting clear objectives, selecting appropriate teaching methods, providing positive motivation, building harmonious relationships between teachers and students, and serving as role models consistent with the teachings of Christ. Catholic Religious Education teachers who emulate Jesus' method, prioritizing love, integrity, rationality, and creativity, are able to create an effective, enjoyable, and meaningful learning environment, both academically and spiritually. These findings confirm that the quality of Catholic Religious Education teachers directly influences students' motivation, academic achievement, character, and faith development. Therefore, the responsibility of Catholic Religious Education teachers extends beyond the transfer of knowledge to fostering faith, morals, ethics, and spirituality, which are the primary foundations of holistic education based on Christian values.

Abstract

Women wearing hijab are currently the main target of the hijab fashion industry, along with the increasing popularity of the hijaber community that is growing both online through social media and offline. The hijab, which initially only functioned as a head covering, has now undergone a transformation into a part of a fashion trend that is loaded with aesthetic, style, and identity values. In this context, the Shampoo X Hijab Ice Tea advertisement offers a space for hijab-wearing women to express their existence through constructed imagery. This study aims to uncover the meanings contained in the advertisement by using a qualitative descriptive approach and Roland Barthes semiotic analysis method. This approach was chosen because it is able to unravel the signs, symbols, and myths hidden behind the representation of advertising, as well as understand the ideological dimensions that are not explicitly visible. Data collection is carried out through visual documentation and detailed observation of each ad scene aired on the Youtube platform. The results of the study show that even though this advertisement is commercial, there is a construction of meaning that displays the image of women wearing hijab as modern figures who are confident, healthy, productive, and still maintain freshness throughout the day. In addition, the advertisement depicts hijab-wearing women who are actively learning, maintaining a graceful, empowered appearance, and representing modern Muslim women who are harmonious between religious identity and contemporary lifestyles. In conclusion, the Shampoo X Hijab Ice Tea advertisement not only sells products, but also builds myths about modern Muslim women who are empowered, elegant, and confident. Semiotic analysis opens up opportunities to understand that advertising is not just a promotional medium, but also an important means in the formation of images, identities, ideologies, and social perceptions in society.

Abstract

Family education is the main foundation in shaping the next generation to have strong character, high morality, and creativity to become accomplished young achievers. Through guidance and example from parents, noble values, ethics, and a fighting spirit are instilled from an early age, making them individuals ready to face the challenges of the times. Thus, the role of the family is not limited to education but also to fostering the regeneration of young carvers. The study was conducted to examine the role of family education in preserving and regenerating woodcarving art in Mulyoharjo Village, Jepara. The research used a qualitative approach, with data presented descriptively through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the research indicate that informal education within the family environment serves as the primary foundation for shaping the character, work ethic, and technical skills of young woodcarvers. From a young age, children are directly exposed to woodcarving activities, learning indirectly from their parents or other family members. The learning process not only involves the transfer of techniques but also instills noble values such as perseverance, precision, and a love for tradition. The role of parents as mentors and facilitators is crucial in nurturing children's interests and talents. It can be concluded that family education is the key to the sustainability of woodcarving art in Mulyoharjo Village. As such, support from various parties, including village governments and communities, is needed to strengthen the role of families as centers of cultural inheritance.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of picture storybooks based on ecological literacy to improve critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The development model used is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). This research is motivated by the lack of innovative learning media that can connect ecological issues with Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning. The research subjects were 50 fifth-grade students at Al Ikhlas Islamic Elementary School who were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The validation process involved five media experts and five material experts, while the practicality test involved 15 teachers and 25 students. The validation results showed that the picture storybook obtained the "Very Appropriate" category with an average score of 4.61 in the media aspect and 4.43 in the material aspect. The practicality test also showed a positive response with a practicality level of 86.43% which is included in the "Practical" category. In terms of effectiveness, the results of the N-Gain analysis showed an increase in critical thinking skills of 23.10% in the experimental group, much higher than the control group which only increased by 6.08%. Although this increase is categorized as "Low," it is statistically significant. This is demonstrated by a t-test with a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. This research makes an important contribution to elementary education, particularly in providing contextual learning media that are not only engaging but also foster environmental awareness. By integrating ecological literacy into picture storybooks, students gain a more meaningful learning experience and are trained to develop critical thinking skills. These findings confirm that media based on environmental contexts can be an innovative alternative to support a more effective learning process.

Abstract

The teaching and learning process of Arabic in the madrasah environment plays a very important role. However, in practice, the diversity of students’ backgrounds, academic abilities, and learning styles poses unique challenges for teachers, especially in Grade VII of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Ma’had Al-Zaytun, which consists of heterogeneous classes. This study aims to describe the strategies employed by Arabic language teachers in managing heterogeneous classrooms and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing these strategies. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results reveal that teachers apply various adaptive strategies such as interactive lectures, repetitive drills, the use of visual and audio media, grouping students based on ability, and emotional approaches through songs and stories. Supporting factors include teacher commitment, availability of learning media, and student enthusiasm, while inhibiting factors consist of limited preparation time, lack of training, and unequal foundational Arabic proficiency. These varied and inclusive strategies prove effective in helping students of different abilities engage optimally in the learning process.

Abstract

Productive program learning in Vocational High Schools has an important role in developing student competencies, both in technical aspects and in entrepreneurial skills. This study aims to identify an effective learning model for productive programs in Vocational High Schools, which includes teaching materials, learning methods, and evaluation of learning outcomes, with a focus on developing entrepreneurial character among graduates. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) by following the development procedure proposed by Borg and Gall. Data analysis was carried out descriptively, by describing the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of product-based learning models in the fields of technology and engineering, tourism, and business and management. The application of the research and development approach in the fields of technology and engineering, tourism, and business and management allows the development of a learning model for productive programs in SMK that prioritizes three important components. First, learning materials are directed at productive activities such as making goods and services, with an emphasis on developing entrepreneurial character. Second, the learning method uses a task based or project based strategy that encourages active student involvement. Third, evaluation of learning outcomes is carried out through performance assessment techniques that assess not only the final product but also the learning process that is gone through. This kind of learning model is expected to equip students with practical skills and entrepreneurial abilities to support their readiness to face the world of work.

Abstract

Vocational education in Indonesia plays a crucial role in improving the quality of a skilled workforce ready to face the challenges of the industrial world. One vocational field that receives special attention is the Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR) study program, where body electrical engineering is one of the main subjects taught. Body electrical engineering is a crucial aspect of vehicle maintenance and repair, where a thorough understanding of electrical engineering is essential for operating and repairing electrical systems within vehicles. However, in practice, obstacles are often encountered in the process of learning body electrical engineering, particularly in terms of student interest and learning outcomes. Many students feel a lack of interest in this subject, which causes them to not optimally absorb the material. One way to address this problem is to implement a learning model that can foster interest in learning and improve student learning outcomes. One such model is Project-Based Learning (PjBL). PjBL is a learning model that prioritizes active student involvement in completing real-life projects relevant to the material being studied. Through this model, students are expected to learn in a more applicable and enjoyable way, which in turn can improve their understanding and learning outcomes. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the PjBL learning model in increasing the interest and learning outcomes of electrical engineering of class XI students at SMK Taman Karya Madya Pertambangan Kebumen.
