Abstract

Functional dyspepsia affects 24–40% of adults in Indonesia and is frequently associated with heartburn. At the Lempake Community Health Center in Samarinda, heartburn ranked as the third most common outpatient complaint, with 765 reported cases between January and August 2024. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Su-Jok therapy as a complementary intervention for alleviating heartburn symptoms. A non-randomized trial without a control group was conducted among clinic patients. Data were collected through structured interviews and a Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) of pain, administered before and after the intervention in patients with non-complicated heartburn. The study included 22 respondents aged 19 to 55, of whom 75% were female. Analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed a statistically significant reduction in NRS scores following Su-Jok therapy (p < 0.001). These findings suggest that Su-Jok hand manipulation effectively reduces subjective heartburn symptoms and may serve as a practical initial or complementary treatment. Su-Jok therapy offers a non-invasive, accessible option for managing heartburn, potentially reducing symptoms before the need for further medical intervention.

Amount 52% demonstrated a high level of knowledge, 51% have a positive attitude toward PMH screening and 24,5% presented proficient skills in this area. Statistical analysis reveals a significant correlation between midwives’ attitudes with skills, and only the characteristics of screening implementation had a significant relationship with midwives' knowledge with a p-value of 0.001. It is essential to provide training for midwives in the implementation of PMH screening for postpartum mothers to ensure optimal care outcomes.

As well as a form of stunting alleviation through PMT (supplementary food provision). Research Methods/ Implementation Methods : This program uses methods in the form of counseling related to stunting prevention and providing varied PMT as well as providing pre-tests and post-tests to measure participants' knowledge and at the end of the activity, this program continues with PMT (Provision of Supplementary Food) for target toddlers. Results : This activity was held on June 14 2024, attended by 21 participants, mothers of babies and toddlers. Based on the results of the pre-test, the percentage is 76% and the post-test is 96%. Conclusion/Lesson Learned : Through the RDS (Healthy Village House) program, it provides increased knowledge regarding the importance of fulfilling nutritional intake for babies and toddlers to prevent anemia, which is shown by an increase of 20%. And the existence of PMT (Additional Food Provision) also indirectly helps in fulfilling the nutrition of babies/toddlers.

Abstract

Background : PERISAI TOGA is an innovative program to eradicate mosquitoes by utilizing family medicinal plants, especially lemongrass, as a natural alternative. Lemongrass is known to be effective in repelling Aedes aegypti because it contains natural chemical compounds, specifically Citronellal and Geraniol, which can interfere mosquitoes by the smell of it. Objective : This research aims to increase community knowledge about the importance of mosquito eradication through the 3M Plus method, while also providing long-term solutions that can be managed by the residents themselves. One of the proposed solutions is the utilization of lemongrass to create products such as anti-mosquito spray and aromatherapy candles. Research Methods/ Implementation Methods : The sampling method used for this program was simple random sampling technique which was attended by 18 women of Family Welfare Empowerment. A Wilcoxon test was used to measure participants' knowledge levels after attending the program. Results : The results of the study showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, with a p-value of 0.000 < α 0.05. The evaluation results indicated an increase in participants' knowledge after attending the counseling and demonstrations on the importance of mosquito eradication and the process of making lemongrass-based products. Conclusion/Lesson Learned : In conclusion, the counseling and demonstrations were effective in increasing community awareness about mosquito eradication and the use of lemongrass as a natural anti-mosquito alternative.

DPT-HB-Hib4 immunization coverage in 2023 of 85% is still below the target (>95%). Objective : To analyze the distribution of pertussis cases based on immunization coverage in East Java Province. Research Methods/ Implementation Methods : Descriptive observational study design. Data were collected from the profile of the East Java Provincial Health Office in 2022 and 2023. Descriptive data analysis using epi info (epimap) version 7.0. Results : The number of pertussis cases in 2022 amounted to 33 cases increasing to 165 cases in 2023. DPT-HB-Hib4 immunization coverage in East Java decreased, from 18 districts/cities (47%) in 2022 to 11 districts/cities (29%) in 2023. Of all pertussis cases in 2023, 135 cases (81.35%) occurred in areas with low immunization coverage and 30 (18.65%) cases occurred in areas with targeted immunization coverage. Conclusion/Lesson Learned : The increase in pertussis cases in East Java in 2023 allegedly due to a decrease in DPT-HB-Hib4 coverage. It is recommended to conduct “Imunisasi Kejar”, especially in areas that did not reach target the DPT-HB-Hib4 target.
