Abstract

Hypertension is a health condition with an increase in blood pressure. As a result, you are at risk of experiencing other diseases such as stroke, heart disease and even death. One of the risk factors that can be changed is behavior. Behaviors that can increase blood pressure such as consuming foods high in salt and fat. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between behavior in fulfilling nutritional needs and the degree of hypertension in hypertensive patients. This type of research was an analytic survey with a cross-sectional study design. This research was conducted in the Balai Gadang Sub-District, the Working Area of the Air Cold Health Center starting from January to June 2022. The study population was all hypertension patients who were in the Balai Gadang Sub-District. The research sample used the accidental sampling technique with the Lameshow formula as many as 53 people. Data collection used a questionnaire, processing with the stages of editing, coding, entry, cleaning.. Analysis was carried out using the Chi Square test frequency distribution (CI 95%). The results showed hypertension degree 1 (56.6%), high level of knowledge (54.7%), negative attitude (50.9%), action (58.5%) so that there is a relationship between behavior in fulfilling nutritional needs and the degree of hypertension, namely knowledge (p value = 0.006), attitude (p value = 0.000), and action (p value = 0.000). It is suggested to nurses to increase KIE education efforts about recommended foods in fulfilling nutritional needs to increase the knowledge of hypertensive patients in Balai Gadang Village.

Abstract

Purus Urban Village is an area located on the coast of Padang City which is classified as a red zone, having a high tsunami landfall. Based on an initial survey, 2 out of 3 heads of households stated that they did not know the actions before and after an earthquake and tsunami, and would not plan evacuation drills for the family at home. This study aims to determine the relationship between family knowledge and attitudes with earthquake and tsunami risk preparedness. Cross-sectional research design, research conducted in RW 03 Purus Village from November 2022 to May 2023. The study population was all heads of families in RW 03 Purus Village with simple random sampling a sample size of 120 families. Data collection techniques using questionnaires. Univariate data analysis by means of descriptive statistics in the form of frequency distribution and percentage, bivariate analysis by means of Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that almost half of the (49.2%) had low preparedness, (7.5%) had low knowledge and more than half of the (50.8%) had negative attitudes. There was a significant relationship between knowledge and preparedness with a significance value (p-value) = 0.033 and a significant relationship between attitude and preparedness with a significance value (p-value) = 0.044. It is recommended that urban village increase the knowledge, attitudes and preparedness of families by promoting socialization or counseling and developing community action plans through earthquake and tsunami disaster preparedness groups. Future researchers should examine the factors that influence family preparedness in facing the risk of earthquake and tsunami disasters.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is very important for child growth and development. But there are several factors that inhibite it, such as mother’s knowledge and lack of workplace support. The Padang city has not reached yet the government’s exclusive breastfeeding target. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and workplace support in exclusive breastfeeding for working mothers in Nanggalo District. This is a quantitative with a cross sectional study design. The study was conducted in Nanggalo District in January-June 2022. The population was working mothers who had children aged 6-24 months with a total sampling technique of 30 mothers. Instrument used is a questionnaire with the chi-square statistical test. The results showed that there was no relationship between maternal knowledge (p-value = 0.272) and workplace support (p-value = 0.940) with exclusive breastfeeding. This still needs to increase mother’s knowledge by not providing additional drinks or food and the need for workplace support to increase exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Non-hemorrhagic stroke is a manifestation of systemic disease in the elderly in the form of impaired blood circulation to the brain which causes neurologic deficits, which requires appropriate nursing intervention such as active and passive Range of Motion (ROM) joint strengthening exercise techniques to increase muscle strength. Objective: To identify research journals regarding factors that influence the effectiveness of efforts to increase muscle strength with the support of active and passive Range of Motion (ROM) mobilization exercises in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. Research Method: This research is a literature review research by searching for journals through ProQuest, GARUDA, and Pubmed which discuss active and passive Range of Motion (ROM) procedures in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. Research Results: The results of the literature review of active and passive Range of Motion (ROM) nursing actions in non-hemorrhagic strokes generally have an influence before and after the action is given by paying attention to various factors that influence the effectiveness of increasing muscle strength. This is relevant to the author's case, namely Mr. NW, who experienced an increase in muscle strength because he paid attention to the time factor of the duration of the action which was continued systematically. Conclusion: From the results of the literature review and cases managed by the author, it can be concluded that efforts to increase muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients can be increased with active and passive Range of Motion (ROM) nursing actions but by paying attention to various factors that influence the effectiveness of increasing muscle strength such as the duration factor. providing action, patient factors (level of awareness and self-motivation), and family support factors

Abstract

The new normal means that we wear masks every day. Masks are useful for preventing viruses and bacteria from entering the body. The body inhales oxygen through the nose to deliver it to tissues and cells, while a mask is worn on the face to cover the nose and mouth. Around 43.44% of people are uncomfortable using masks. Based on observations at the Padang Health Polytechnic, there were still students who did not wear masks because they were uncomfortable breathing. Therefore, the aim of this study was to see the difference in oxygen saturation before and after using various types of masks at the Padang Ministry of Health Health Polytechnic. This research is a Quasi Experiment with a One Group Pre-Post Test design. The research was conducted from January to June 2022. The population in this study were students of the Nursing Study Program, Padang Health Polytechnic, with a population of 154 and a sample size of 22 people taken using a purposive sampling technique. The statistical test used is the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The research results showed that the average oxygen saturation before using various types of masks was 97.79 and after 97.18. There was no difference in average oxygen saturation when using cloth masks, surgical masks and KF94 masks. Meanwhile, for KN95 and N95 masks, there is a difference in average oxygen saturation with a p-value of (0.008) and (0.003). The suggestion of this research is that it is recommended for students and the public to continue to use all types of masks according to their daily needs, because the use of masks does not affect oxygen saturation, even though there are masks that change the oxygen saturation value, the oxygen saturation value remains within the range of values. normal.
