Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Animal Fun media on the understanding of animal reproduction concepts in Grade VII students with intellectual disabilities. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach through a Single Subject Research (SSR) method with an A-B-A design. The subject of this study was a student with an intellectual disability who had difficulty identifying the differences between oviparous and viviparous animals and their characteristics. Data were collected by measuring the student’s understanding scores in each phase: baseline 1 (A1), intervention (B), and baseline 2 (A2). Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics through visual analysis within and between conditions. The intervention was conducted using Animal Fun media, a visually interactive learning tool designed for students with special needs. The results showed an increase in the student's understanding scores from phase A1 to phase B, and this improvement tended to persist in phase A2. These findings indicate that Animal Fun media had a positive effect on improving the understanding of animal reproduction in students with intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

AI technology, which is currently widely used, can be used as a medium to foster students' enthusiasm for drawing and creativity. One that can be used is AI technology in the form of moving or giving motion effects to drawings made by students. In addition to developing students' imagination and creativity, this research activity can also improve teachers' abilities to become good and innovative teachers. Current problems are declining student interest in creating works, and a lack of teacher training regarding the use of technology in learning. The research conducted was by guiding children to draw illustrations of characters or something based on their imagination. Next, students were directed to upload the results of the drawings on the Sketch Demolab page and then students viewed them. The resulting image became a moving animation. The research was conducted to obtain data on student enthusiasm in creating works. The results showed that the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology Sketch Metademolab in effective moving animation activities can increase students' creativity and imagination. This was obtained from the results of questionnaires and interviews conducted with students at SDN Sukorejo 1. The results showed that students responded positively to this activity, with an average percentage of "YES" answers above 90%. This reflects that a learning approach based on creative practices such as drawing and animation is able to create a fun and meaningful learning experience. In addition, the use of AI technology in learning has been proven to have a positive impact in supporting the learning process of students, especially in honing critical thinking skills, imaginative, and adaptive to the development of the times. In addition, the use of AI technology in learning also provides an opportunity for students to better understand how technology can be applied in the world of art and creativity.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of a scientific approach in science learning and analyze its influence on students' understanding and attitudes towards the material of environmental change and conservation. The scientific approach, which includes observing, asking, trying, reasoning, and communicating, is applied to increase students' active involvement and encourage deeper conceptual understanding. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with fifth-grade students in an elementary school in Makassar City as the subjects. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of a scientific approach can increase students' interest in learning, critical thinking skills, and concern for environmental issues. Thus, the scientific approach is proven effective in creating meaningful and contextual science learning.a.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of the surrounding environment as a contextual learning resource in natural and social sciences (IPAS) learning in elementary schools. A contextual approach is considered capable of bridging students' understanding of IPA concepts through direct experience and interaction with the surrounding environment. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with teachers and fifth-grade elementary school students as subjects. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that utilizing the surrounding environment—such as school gardens, small rivers, parks, and social facilities—can increase learning interest, active involvement, and a deeper understanding of concepts. Activities such as direct observation, exploration, and field discussions make the learning process more meaningful. Thus, utilizing the surrounding environment as a contextual learning resource is effective in supporting active, real-life, and relevant IPA learning in students' lives.

Abstract

To achieve quality education in higher education, an Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) is required, as is the case at Sunan Drajat Lamongan University (UNSUDA). Therefore, this study aims to describe the Internal Quality Assurance System in Improving Education Quality at Sunan Drajat Lamongan University (UNSUDA).  In this study, we used descriptive qualitative research methodology. We also used primary and secondary data in this study. The data collection techniques we used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used data analysis, starting with data collection, data reduction, to drawing conclusions. The results of the study are as follows: first, UNSUDA's Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) uses the plan, do, check, act stages. 1) Plan: UNSUDA has stages of determining policies, determining quality manuals, determining standards, and creating quality forms. However, in determining policy, UNSUDA integrates pesantren values. 2) Do: in this stage, UNSUDA uses improvement-based implementation, collects data, and documents data. It also forms a culture of quality, such as orientation towards stakeholders, teamwork, and a character of responsibility and discipline. 3) Check: in this stage, the Internal Quality Audit (AMI) process is carried out. UNSUDA conducts AMI every year. 4) Act: In this stage, UNSUDA carries out two activities: quality control and improvement. Quality improvement at UNSUDA includes developing a doctoral program (S-3). Overall follow-up actions are presented in the form of a follow-up plan. Second, the quality of education is viewed from the aspects of output, service, human resources (HR), service, process, and environment. Therefore, SPMI at UNSUDA determines the achievement of educational quality because it is SPMI that will improve the quality of each university and shape the culture of quality of a university. The quality of education at UNSUDA has improved after the implementation of SPMI. Overall, the quality at PTKIS has improved and will even become the identity of educational quality or the uniqueness of educational quality and be used as branding at every PTKIS, thereby becoming the competitive advantage of PTKIS over private universities (PTS) and other PTKIS.

Abstract

as well as digital, financial, scientific, cultural, and civic literacy, are essential skills for children's academic and social development. However, in many regions, especially in marginalized areas, basic literacy rates remain low. Financial pressures that force children to contribute to their family's livelihood, as well as a lack of community participation in creating a child-friendly environment, make it difficult for children to acquire basic literacy skills. Factors such as limited access to educational facilities, a shortage of qualified teachers, and a lack of reading materials are major obstacles to improving children's literacy. In facing these challenges, NGOs play an important role in providing alternative solutions to improve children's basic literacy skills. This research was conducted at an NGO called Sikkola Rakyat, which carries out activities for children in Starban, Kelurahan Polonia. The purpose of this research was to analyze the role of NGOs in improving children's basic literacy through various programs, such as providing books and reading materials, training for children and parents, and implementing innovative and community-based learning methods. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The informants in this study consisted of key informants, namely the leaders and volunteers, primary informants, namely children who participated in activities at Sikkola Rakyat, and additional informants, namely the parents and the Head of Neighborhood X. In analyzing the role played by Sikkola Rakyat, Wills' theory was used, which defines the role of NGOs as implementers of basic literacy activities for children. As a catalyst, Sikkola Rakyat as an NGO voices the importance of basic literacy and raises public awareness. As a partner, Sikkola Rakyat as an NGO collaborates and partners with various parties to optimize basic literacy programs for children

Abstract

The discourse on education becomes urgent and important when we witness various forms of humanitarian problems that challenge our conscience. These issues are becoming increasingly complex and intricate in this contemporary era. Meanwhile, the existence of social institutions, particularly the family, is also being questioned. Questions arise about how families should play a role in educating and nurturing the attitudes and character of children to become good human beings. To address this, this article seeks to offer Horace Bushnell's thoughts on education or Christian nurturing. The research method used is library research with descriptive analysis. Research findings indicate that Christian education within the family shapes children with integrity, who are religiously devout and morally correct. Additionally, it was also found that the role of parents in educating children within the family can protect children from social problems in today's contemporary age. The main purpose of this article is to introduce Horace Bushnell's thinking on Christian education in the family and to find practical implications in an effort to overcome the various practical challenges of Christian families in contemporary times. Abstract

Language holds significant symbolic power in shaping a leader’s political image. This study examines President Prabowo Subianto’s statement on August 29, 2025, regarding the demonstrations, from the perspectives of pragmatics and rhetoric, in order to reveal how language is used to manage discourse and reinforce governmental legitimacy. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis of the official speech text. The findings show that the statement contains various linguistic issues, such as the use of authoritative diction, the presence of implicit and ambiguous meanings, and the balance between emotional and rational utterances. From a rhetorical perspective, the president employs ethos to affirm his image as a dignified and responsible leader; pathos to evoke public sympathy through expressions of condolence; and logos to demonstrate logical reasoning through promises of action and law enforcement. These strategies collectively construct a stable political discourse, yet also hold the potential for problems due to differing interpretations among the public. This study emphasizes that political communication in the context of modern governance cannot be separated from in-depth linguistic analysis, as language plays a crucial role in maintaining legitimacy and social stability. Therefore, greater pragmatic and rhetorical awareness is required in political communication so that national messages can be conveyed effectively, ethically, and contextually.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using the Articulation Station Hive learning media on the pronunciation ability of apico alveolar sounds in deaf students in class IX at SLB N 1 Bantul. Deaf children often face communication barriers, which have an impact on their social and educational development. Specific difficulties are experienced when pronouncing apico alveolar sounds such as /t/, /d/, /n/, /l/, and /s/. The existing learning method using a large articulation mirror often disrupts students' concentration, so an alternative medium is needed. This study used a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest- Posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 4 deaf students in class IX SMPLB. Data was collected through a pronunciation ability test of sounds before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the treatment. The results showed a significant increase in scores after the treatment using the Articulation Station Hive media. The pre-test scores of the four subjects were in the range of 21 to 55, while the post-test scores increased to 48 to 78. The Samples Paired t test showed a significance value of 0.001 (p ≤ 0.05), which indicates that the use of this media has a real effect in improving the pronunciation ability of apico alveolar sounds in deaf children.

Abstract

Queuing culture is often perceived as a simple habit in daily life, yet in reality, it carries a deeper meaning in shaping individual character, particularly among university students. Standing in line is not merely about waiting for one’s turn, but also reflects discipline, respect for others’ rights, and a willingness to obey shared rules. This article discusses queuing culture as a reflection of student discipline in practicing the values of Pancasila. As the nation’s future generation, students hold a moral responsibility to become role models within society. By practicing queuing culture, they demonstrate the implementation of social justice, equality, and both personal and social responsibility. In the context of campus life, queuing behavior appears in various situations, such as waiting for administrative services, using shared facilities, or engaging in daily activities beyond the academic setting. Discipline in queuing trains students to be patient, orderly, and capable of self-control. These values are in line with the principles of Pancasila, especially in upholding humanity, unity, and social justice. Moreover, queuing culture serves as a means of internalizing public ethics that foster a more orderly and harmonious social environment. Therefore, queuing culture is not only a practical behavior but also a concrete manifestation of Pancasila in students’ everyday lives. Through this simple habit, students can cultivate self-discipline, respect the rights of others, and strengthen moral integrity. This article emphasizes that queuing practices can be considered a form of character education, relevant in shaping young generations who are disciplined, ethical, and consistently able to embody the values of Pancasila in social life.
