Abstract

This research aims to analyze the synergy between education quality management and transformational leadership as a strategy in increasing the effectiveness and competitiveness of educational institutions in the era of globalization and digitalization. The approach used is a literature study by examining relevant theories from various academic sources, both national and international, which discusses the basic concepts of quality management, the characteristics of transformational leadership, and the implementation of both in the context of education. The results of the study show that quality management functions as a management system that ensures the sustainability of improving the quality of education through the principles of planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement. Meanwhile, transformational leadership acts as a driving force that provides inspiration, motivation, and moral direction to all members of educational organizations. The synergy between the two forms a managerial pattern that is not only systemically efficient, but also humanist and visionary in value. Transformational leaders are able to internalize a culture of quality into every educational process, so that quality is no longer understood as an administrative obligation, but as a collective commitment to produce graduates with excellence and character. This study confirms that the integration of quality management and transformational leadership is the main foundation for the creation of adaptive, innovative, and sustainable educational institutions in the midst of the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using audio-visual media in teaching Christian Religious Education at Elpida Senior High School Noelbaki. The research was motivated by teachers’ need to develop contextual and engaging teaching methods for the digital-native generation. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed. The research population consisted of all 11th-grade students, with a total sample of 60 students divided into experimental and control groups. The instruments used were a Likert-scale questionnaire and observation sheets measuring student learning activities. Data analysis was conducted using a t-test to determine differences in learning outcomes between the two groups. The results revealed that the use of audio-visual media had a significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes in Christian Religious Education (t = 4.27; p < 0.05). Moreover, students in the experimental group demonstrated higher motivation and participation during the learning process. Therefore, it can be concluded that audio-visual media is effective in enhancing understanding of faith concepts, emotional engagement, and overall learning attractiveness. The findings imply that teachers should receive continuous training to optimize digital technology as a contextual and relevant medium for Christian education today.

Abstract

The phenomenon that occurred in MAN sors in the implementation of academic supervision of the Principal in improving the quality of education in MAN Singkawang City. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with the Principal, Deputy Head of Curriculum, and teachers at MAN Singkawang City. The data obtained were analyzed using a descriptive approach, namely reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that 1) the implementation of academic supervision at MAN Singkawang City involves a series of activities, such as class visits, observations, personal conversations with teachers, and ongoing coaching. 2) Evaluation of supervision results resulted in follow-up in the form of coaching focused on developing teachers' pedagogical competencies. 3) However, several obstacles to the implementation of supervision were encountered, such as unexpected schedule changes, less than optimal teacher preparedness, and limited facilities. Nevertheless, the implemented solutions, such as schedule adjustments and the use of technology, successfully addressed these obstacles and increased the effectiveness of supervision in improving the quality of education in madrasas.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology in the era of globalization has significantly transformed the field of education, particularly the role of teachers. This article aims to analyze the role of teachers in the technological era by identifying challenges and opportunities that arise in modern learning practices. The research method used is library research through the analysis of various educational literature sources such as scientific journals, educational articles, and reference books. The findings reveal that teachers in the digital era are no longer solely knowledge transmitters, but rather facilitators, learning designers, motivators, and guides in developing 21st-century skills. Opportunities include the utilization of technology as a learning medium, access to global information resources, and strengthened educational innovation. However, teachers also face challenges such as digital literacy gaps, limited technological infrastructure, technological dependency, and shifting student social values. The study concludes that strengthening teachers’ professional competence through continuous training, professional learning communities, and effective technology integration is essential in improving the quality of global education.

Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the use of audio-visual media in fiqh learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The focus of this study is: 1) How is fiqh learning planning using audio-visual media for students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, 2) How is fiqh learning implementation using audio-visual for students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, 3) How is fiqh learning evaluation for students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This study uses qualitative research with descriptive qualitative research type. Determination of research subjects in this study was done purposively. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis, researchers used the data analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana including: Data Condensation, Data Presentation (Display), Conclusion Drawing (Conclusions Drawing). The validity of the data in this study used source triangulation and technique triangulation. The research results show that: planning for fiqh learning using audio-visual media for students in Islamic Elementary Schools includes: preparing a one-year and one-semester material schedule, determining fiqh learning targets by developing lesson plans (RPP), establishing learning objectives, developing engaging materials, determining learning media to be used, determining practical methods, and so on. Implementing fiqh learning using audio-visual media in Islamic Elementary Schools includes: arranging students in class into groups, producing relevant media, explaining fiqh material using a projector, conducting Q&A sessions, and practical work. Evaluation of fiqh learning using audio-visual media for students in Islamic Elementary Schools involves several evaluations: formative evaluation through questions administered at the end of the lesson, including written tests, oral tests, and practical work; and summative evaluation, which includes tests administered at the end of the semester. Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of principals implementing educational supervision of Islamic Religious Education teachers, this is done to improve the performance of Islamic Religious Education teachers at MTs. Darul Ulum Matang Danau, Paloh District. The focus of this research is: 1) How is the implementation of principal supervision of teacher performance in improving learning at MTs Darul Ulum Matang Danau?. 2) What are the results of the implementation of Principal supervision of Teacher performance in improving learning at MTs Darul Ulum Matang Danau? 3) What are the Supporting and Inhibiting Factors of Principal supervision of teacher performance in improving learning at MTs Darul Ulum Matang Danau? This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research type. Primary data sources in the research, namely: Principal and Islamic Religious Education Teacher at MTs Darul Ulum Matang Danau, Paloh District. Data collection uses three techniques, namely: observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The stages of data analysis start from data collection, data reduction, data display and data verification (drawing conclusions). The data validity checking techniques used were triangulation and member checking. The results of this study are: 1) The implementation of principal supervision at MTs Darul Ulum Matang Danau in improving Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher performance is carried out in the following ways: First, by conducting supervision or monitoring. Second, by assessing teacher performance and student understanding levels during learning. 2) The results of the principal supervision at MTs Darul Ulum Matang Danau in improving Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher performance have a significant impact on improving teacher performance. 3) The implications of principal supervision at MTs Darul Ulum Matang Danau are improving teacher performance in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning by improving teacher competency in planning, implementing, and assessing learning, which impacts teaching quality and student achievement.

Abstract

Religious moderation has become a strategic issue in the context of higher education in Indonesia as an effort to maintain social harmony and strengthen national character based on the values of tolerance, balance, and justice. This article aims to analyze the role of Islamic Education (PAI) lecturers in promoting religious moderation in universities. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review and conceptual analysis of policies from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Islamic Education curriculum, and teaching practices in higher education environments. The findings indicate that PAI lecturers hold a strategic role as educators, role models, and agents of change in instilling the values of religious moderation among students. PAI lecturers are expected not only to deliver theological content but also to internalize the values of tolerance, respect for diversity, and the spirit of ukhuwah wathaniyah (national brotherhood) and ukhuwah insaniyah (human brotherhood). In conclusion, strengthening the capacity of PAI lecturers and integrating the values of moderation into the curriculum are strategic steps to build an inclusive and peaceful campus environment

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' problem-solving skills in Biology subjects. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The participants were 32 students of class X MIPA 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Baregbeg. The instrument used was an essay test designed to measure problem-solving skills, covering indicators such as understanding problems, planning solutions, implementing strategies, and evaluating outcomes. The results showed an increase in the average score from 52.13 (pretest) to 78.25 (posttest), with an N-Gain value of 0.63, categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that the PBL model effectively enhances students’ problem-solving abilities. The problem-based learning process encourages active engagement, critical thinking, and deeper conceptual understanding. This research recommends the consistent implementation of PBL to support contextual and collaborative classroom learning.

Abstract

This paper investigates the values of character education embedded in Tafsir al-Azhar by Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah (Hamka), an influential work representing the tradition of Nusantara exegesis (tafsir Nusantara). The research aims to identify and analyze the relevance of character values that Hamka contextualized within the Indonesian socio-cultural environment. The study utilizes the maudhu‘i (thematic) approach to Qur'anic exegesis, focusing on verses pertaining to the formation of human character. This methodology allows for a comprehensive exploration of universal moral values interpreted by Hamka. The findings indicate that Hamka places strong emphasis on the necessity of several core values as the foundation for the character of a virtuous and faithful individual. These crucial values include honesty (kejujuran), trustworthiness (amanah), responsibility, tolerance, and patriotism/love for the homeland. Hamka’s interpretation consistently links these spiritual and moral values with the local Indonesian context, reflecting the text's adabi ijtima‘i (socio-literary) characteristic. Furthermore, the study highlights that Hamka advocates for an integrated education system that rejects a purely cognitive focus, instead emphasizing the essential balance between intellect and spirituality to produce morally sound individuals. The educational concepts proposed by Hamka are highly relevant to the contemporary needs of Islamic education, particularly in addressing the pervasive challenges of moral globalization and value disorientation in the modern era. His perspective aligns well with modern educational paradigms, including the principles of the Profile of Pancasila Students (Profil Pelajar Pancasila) in Indonesia, which seek to integrate faith, knowledge, and noble character. Thus, Hamka’s Tafsir al-Azhar serves as a vital moral guide and a robust framework for developing a moderate, humanist, and nationally conscious Islamic character education system in modern Indonesia

Abstract

Education in the era of globalization faces rapid social, cultural, and technological changes. Labor-market demands and scientific development encourage schools to adjust their curricula to emphasize short-term practical skills. As a result, philosophical, moral, and character-building dimensions are often neglected. In the tradition of educational philosophy, perennialism and essentialism offer frameworks for restoring education to its fundamental goals. Perennialism emphasizes universal values, rationality, and great works as foundations for intellectual and moral formation. Essentialism focuses on core knowledge, academic discipline, and social responsibility as the basis for shaping effective individuals. Exploring these two schools is important for balancing modern demands with fundamental values. Education grounded in strong philosophical principles can foster academic competence, social skills, moral integrity, and cultural awareness. Therefore, a deep understanding of perennialism and essentialism is relevant for building an educational system that is resilient and meaningful. These traditions also guide institutions in designing curricula that not only meet economic needs but also shape whole human beings. By balancing modern skill demands with enduring values, education becomes a medium capable of preserving cultural identity, nurturing critical thinking, and preparing learners to face global dynamics wisely. This makes education a strategic force in building a strong and sustainable civilization.
