Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on studentlearning outcomes on plant structure and function material. This research is a quasi-experimental study witha pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research is SMP Muhammadiyah 1Palembang students. The sample in this study were students of class VIIIA as the experimental class andVIIIB as the control class which were selected by purposive sampling. The learning outcomes analyzed arecognitive learning outcomes. Test analysis using independent sample T-test. The results showed that therewas an influence of the Problem Based Learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes, it wasknown from the sig value on the t test 0.038 <0.05. Then it is supported by the average post-test score ofthe experimental class (82.46) which is higher than the control class (73.50).

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the validity and reliability of a questionnaire assessing pro-environmental conservation attitudes and behavior for high school students with 50 statement. Research on pro-environmental conservation attitudes and behavior of secondary school students has probably often been carried out, as was done by Syarief with the title The Role of Geography Learning in Developing Conservation Character of Participants in SMA Negeri 9 Gowa. This research was conducted without using standard instruments to collect data regarding students' attitudes and behavior towards the environment. Research conducted by Lubis et.al entitled Profile of Environmental Concern Attitudes of High School Students in Aceh. This research focuses only on students' caring attitudes towards the environment. Meanwhile, in this study, data collection used standard instruments that had been tested for validity and reliability, and separated attitude indicators from behavioral indicators, so that the focus was not only on pro-conservation attitudes but also on conservation behavior. Statement that were created to measure high school students pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors. The method usin in the research is  Research And Development is the approach employed, which alludes to Borg & Gall in Sugiyono (2013). Using simple random selection, 250 high school students from 3 different schools including SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak, SMA Abdi Wacana Pontianak and SMA Kemala Bhayangkari Kubu Raya  were used to test the instrument. The findings indicated that the items' validity had been established, as 47 statement items were approved and 3 statement items were refused. Cronbach's alpha value was 0.90, Person Reliability was 0.89, and Item Reliability was 0.97, as determined by reliability analysis. Based on these findings, the instrument for measuring high school students' pro-environmental conservation attitudes and actions may be described as "valid" and "reliable."

Abstract

This study aims to describe the actual field conditions regarding the use of existing thematic teaching materials, the need for the development of thematic teaching materials, to get the form of thematic teaching material development and to determine the effectiveness of developing HOTS-based thematic teaching materials on students' creative thinking abilities. The method of this research is Research and Development (R&D) with research subjects of class IV students at MIN 4 and MIN 7 districts of Magelang. The stages of R&D use the ADDIE development procedure. Data collection using interview and questionnaire techniques. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Field conditions have not yet been found on HOTS-based online thematic teaching materials, 2) HOTS-based online thematic teaching materials are needed by teachers in their learning, 3) Teaching materials that have been developed are suitable for testing in learning, 4) Results test the effectiveness of the use of thematic teaching materials with the Wilcocon test obtained a difference of 23.64 meaning an increase in pastest scores against pretest. Standard deviation 4.63 an increase in all students, obtained a value of Z = -5,185 and p-value = 0,000 t 4,788 then with these results it can be concluded that the development of HOTSbased online thematic teaching materials effectively increases the ability to think creatively.

Abstract

Industry 4.0 plays a vital role in the development of the world economy. The development of the world economy requires new skills, such as critical thinking skills and independent learning. Module development Project-based learning Integrated scientific literacy is needed to meet the demands of education in the 4.0 era. This research analyses the need for module development project-based learning to be integrated with scientific literacy. This type of research is survey research using quantitative descriptive research methods. The population in this study were all class VIII students at MTs N 1 Wonogiri, with a research sample of 62 students. The research was conducted in May 2024. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a modified Likert scale with four answer choices: strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. The research results showed that the statements submitted to respondents obtained a percentage of 11% -40%, which fell into the categories of strongly disagree and disagree. From these results, students need a student-based science module Project-based learning integrated scientific literacy to improve students' critical thinking skills and learning independence.

Abstract

In the 21st century, in the 4.0 revolution era, the Ministry of Education and Culture has developed a learning paradigm that states that students are expected to be able to develop abilities, one of which is the ability to think critically. However, in addition to these demands on learning, it is also emphasized to be able to make students carry out learning activities well. One way to increase students' learning activities and critical thinking skills is to develop Nearpod-based interactive science learning media. The purpose of this study was to describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Nearpod-based interactive science learning media to improve the learning activities and critical thinking skills of junior high school students. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE model. The research subjects were 7th B grade students of MTsN 10 Jember. The research results are as follows: The validation results of the three validators were 92.13%, with very valid criteria. The practicality results on the learning implementation sheet show a proportion value of 93.23% with very good criteria. The results of the effectiveness of the media to increase learning activities are effective because there is an increase in the percentage at each meeting and an average of 84.47%, which is included in the very active criteria. The effectiveness of the media to improve critical thinking skills is included in the effective criteria because more than 75% of students have medium or high improvement criteria. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the media based on student responses obtained an average of 84.06% with very good criteria. It can be interpreted that the media developed are valid, practical, and effective for increasing learning activities and students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Argumentation plays an essential role in developing a critical thinking and understanding or interpreting a central idea of the existing problem, In addition, students need arguments to strengthen understanding and knowledge in the learning process. Socioscientific Issues is a combination of social issues involving moral and ethical components and their relevance to science. This study aims to determine the argumentation ability of junior high school students in the context of socioscientific issues with the topic of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The research method used is descriptive research with careful decision-making and description of an educational phenomenon. The subjects of this study were 133 students, consisting of grades 9 in several junior high schools in Abab District, Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency. The technique of collecting research data employs a test with a total of three essay questions. Data from the study were analyzed using the Rasch model. The result showed that the argumentation skills of junior high school students were 57,29 out of 100 logits. This result indicates that, on average, students can put forward arguments by providing reasons that support their arguments.

Abstract

The goal of this investigation to implement a problem-based learning model as an effort to improve student learning activities and outcomes. This model of research is a classroom action research divided into two cycles. The study conducted at High School 1 Piyungan class X MIPA 1 totaling 35 students consisting of 15 male and 20 female, the topic used the momentum and impulse of semester 2. The research instrument is observation sheet, achievement test, and questionnaire. The results of the analysis learning model with problem-based learning can increase the activity of studying physics class X MIPA1. Improved physics learning activities of class X MIPA 1 students at High School 1 Piyungan with problem-based learning for the academic year 2018/2019 from the first cycle at the first meeting and the second meeting increased from 84.75% to 91.11% which was 6.36In the second cycle there was an increase from 85.28% to 91.85%, an increase of 6, 57%.

Abstract

Newton’s Law material in science subjects at the junior high school level contains various examples of phenomena and actual applications in everyday life so learning on this material requires a contextual approach and better media in terms of visuals and interactivity. According to several sources, Articulate Storyline 3 is the recommended platform for producing interactive learning media during the COVID-19 pandemic, mainly attractiveness and practicality. This research aims: 1) to describe the validity of interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 on Newton’s law material with a contextual approach at the junior high school level. 2) to describe students’ responses to interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 on Newton’s law material with a contextual approach at the junior high school level. This research and development carry on ADDIE stages (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) with subjects including material expert, media expert, user teacher, and 32 students of SMPN 2 Balung, Jember, East Java. The product created is in APK (android package) format with a size of 42.62 MB. This product has a material feasibility level of 4.57 with the “very feasible” category. The media feasibility of 4,80 is included in the “very feasible” category. User eligibility is 4,78 in the “very feasible” category. This media received a positive response from students with a score of 4,00 in the “feasible” category. Overall, the learning media can be determined to be “very valid” for use as a learning medium.

Abstract

Independence is the ability of students to manifest their desires and desires in a real way withoutdepending on others. In addition to independent learning, interest also has an influence on studentlearning outcomes. The Minister of Education and Culture has issued Circular Number 4 of 2020 that thelearning process is carried out at home through online learning during the Covid-19 outbreak, onlinelearning is carried out according to the abilities of each school. The research objectives were to determine:1) the effect of independent learning on the results of online biology learning at SMAN OKU SelatanDistrict?; 2) the influence of learning interest on the results of online biology learning at SMAN SouthOKU Regency 3) the influence of independence and interest in learning together on the results of onlinebiology learning at SMAN South OKU Regency?. Research Method: Descriptive Quantitative. Researchresults: there is a significant effect of independent learning on learning outcomes of biology with asignificant value of 0,002 <0,05 with a contribution value of 47% while 53% is influenced by othervariables not examined, namely children's readiness and intelligence, on interest there is a significantinfluence on the results. learning biology with a significant value of 0,023 <0,05 with a contribution valueof 45% while 55% is influenced by other variables that are not examined, namely habits and a willingnessto learn as well as independence and interest in learning together, there is a significant effect on thelearning outcomes of biology with a value significant amounting to 0,001 <0,05 with a contribution valueof 52%, while 48% is influenced by other variables not examined, namely teacher competence andlearning methods. Conclusion: There is a significant effect of independence and interest in learning on thelearning outcomes of biology at Public Senior High School in South OKU District.

Abstract

Fun educational learning media rarely exist in the elementary school environment . So this study aims to develop educational learning media snake ladder with plant theme for firist grade elementery school. This research was conducted in three elementery schools in Bekasi. The method used is a research and development model with Borg & Gall. The results show aspects of media needs only 25% of teachers using games in learning media. While as many as 83% of teachers think the learning material in the book is very supportive theme to use instructional media. Researchers also conduct tests to students about the concept of living things, especially plants with an average value of 43.33 which enter into the category of "less". Based on these findings, the researchers conducted the development of instructional media educational ladder snake plant subthemes. This medium-sized 2x3.5 m where each field contains information about the plant concepts that are tailored to the learning curriculum. Students also are directly involved with being pawns and dice made from flannel made safe with the size 30x30cm
