Abstract

The role of practical work in Organic Chemistry is to provide experience to gain skills and to reinforce concepts that have been obtained from theory and also to increase understanding and to increase interest or motivation. However, practical work has not been an activity that can always be done in high school, especially for chemistry due to facility lack. For this reason, a workshop is needed to increase the understanding of high school chemistry teachers in basic Organic Chemistry, as well as to increase the insight of chemistry teachers in creating practical topics that are in accordance with the facilities available at school. The workshop was held for high school chemistry teachers in Mojokerto. The workshop consisted of an explanation of the basic of Organic Chemistry and the use of Chem Office software, accompanied by practical work in laboratory. The workshop held was successfully added the insights of the teachers and it was hoped that the knowledge obtained would be applied in learning process in their respective high schools.

Abstract

Merak Batin Village, Natar District, South Lampung Regency; Natar Inner Peacock Village, Natar District, South Lampung Regency; is not an industrial point area. This is an opportunity for people to think creatively and have new businesses to improve the economy of the community as a whole. One creative business idea that is easy to develop and practice is to make dishwashing liquid soap. Given that liquid dishwashing soap is a household primary need and is very useful and of course in demand in the market, it has the potential to be used as a home industry or home industry. The ingredients needed to make liquid soap solutions are very easy to find on the market and of course, it doesn't require a lot of capital, so the liquid dishwashing soap business will be very promising in the future. Mentoring and training activities are provided by independent KKN students from the University of Lampung period I in 2021. The purpose of this activity is assistance and training in making dishwashing liquid soap for the community so that they have new business opportunities and can be more independent in producing liquid dishwashing soap products of the highest quality. guaranteed quality. The forms of activities carried out are mentoring, training, manufacturing practices, as well as packaging and labeling. The result of this activity is that the community finally has new skills and knowledge about making dishwashing liquid soap

Abstract

Natural dyes are an alternative renewable and environmentally friendly dyes. Natural dyes can be isolated from microorganisms. Winogradsky column is an enrichment culture that is suitable for obtaining various photosynthetic bacteria as sources of natural dyes. Knowledge of the Winogradsky column can be the initial stage for development of natural dyes based on microorganisms. Community service activity related to the Winogradsky column, involving chemistry and biology teachers throughout Malang Regency as partners. The activities are carried out offline at SMAN 1 Lawang and online using Zoom Meeting. The online activity also attended by SMA teachers from outside Java. The first stage of these activities were delivering material related to photosynthetic bacteria, the Winogradsky column, and dyes. The second stage was the practice of making Winogradsky columns followed by focus group discussion. The results of the questionnaire showed a positive response to the activities. The majority of participants gave a “Good” and “Excellent” rating. Participants wanted a follow-up this activity in the form of re-implementing this activity in rotation at different schools.

Abstract

Electricity has become a basic need which people depend on as an energy source for their electrical equipment. It can increase their monthly expenditure if they can not manage how to use it efficiently based on electrical usage and safety standards. According our preliminary survey, we found that in The Pesantren (islamic boarding school) of Sa'adatudaren at Urban Village of Tahtul Yaman in Sub-district of Pelayangan, City of Jambi, electrical utilities in this Pesantren have not yet operated using minimal electrical usage standards so it was not safe and the same time increased their monthly expenditure. In this community service activity, we trained the students, the teachers and the management of the Pesantren of Sa'adatudaren how to use electricity efficiently using electrical safety standards and electrical management systems. At the end of training, we distributed some stickers and banners to be spread around the Pesantren.

Abstract

Vegetables and fish are important sources of food and nutrition for humans. The need for vegetables and fish is the main thing that needs to be fulfilled so that it becomes one of the important things for the community. This need can actually be met from the results of business or self-cultivation in the yard of the house, especially for people who still have a fairly large yard. This service activity was carried out in Bandar Sari Village, Padang Ratu District, Central Lampung Regency, Lampung Province by providing counseling and demonstrations on vegetable cultivation and aquaponics fish cultivation. From the results of community service activities, it is known that the understanding of community members about fish farming in ponds and hydroponic plants is good. However, these activities are still carried out separately, not combined into one in the form of aquaponics. After conducting counseling and demonstrations, the community's understanding becomes better, so that the community can combine the two cultural activities into one profitable activity.

Abstract

Petani selama ini tergantung pada penggunaan pestisida kimia untuk mengendalikan hama dan penyakit tanaman. Selain yang harganya mahal, pestisida kimia juga banyak memiliki dampak negatif bagi lingkungan dan kesehatan manusia. Dampak negatif dari penggunaan pestisida kimia antara lain yaitu: hama menjadi kebal (resisten), peledakan hama baru (resurjensi), penumpukan residu bahan kimia di dalam hasil panen, terbunuhnya musuh alami, dan pencemaran lingkungan oleh residu bahan kimia serta kecelakaan bagi pengguna. Oleh karena itu untuk mereduksi ketergantungan petani pada pestisida sintesis maka Tim Dosen dari Jurusan Kimia FMIPA Universitas Lampung mengadakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertema ”Penerapan penggunaan pestisida alami untuk mengurangi pestisida sintesis melalui penyuluhan pada para petani di desa Way Tuba kabupaten Way Kanan”. Pada kegiatan ini telah dilakukan penyuluhan dan penerapan penggunaan pestisida alami untuk menambah wawasan dan pengetahuan petani dalam menggunakan pestisida sintesis yang tepat. Selain itu juga meningkatkan kesadaran penggunaan bahan alami dalam menanggulangi hama penyakit tanaman melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi Rumah Mocaf Banjarnegara adalah dalam hal control kualitas produk mocaf. Karena proses produksi bersifat massal (masyarakat petani), maka control kualitas sulit untuk dikedalikan. Oleh karena itu diperlukan metode yang praktis dan efisien untuk kontrol kualitas produk mocaf yang diharapkan dapat menjaga kualitas produk mocaf. Penentuan spesifikasi ditentukan nilai yang cukup signifikan berbeda antara tepung mocaf dan tepung tapioka.Tujuan Iptek bagi masyarakat adalah untuk menemukan metode yang praktis dan efisien untuk menentukan kontrol kualitas produk mocaf dan memberi pelatihan kepada masyarakat terkait pengendalian kualitas produk mocaf. Solusi yang ditawarkan secara umum terdiri dari dua bagian utama, yaitu: (1) analisis produk mocaf dan tepung tapioka, dan (2) Penentuan kandungan utama yang menjadi dasar kontrol kualitas produk mocaf, dan (3) memberi pelatihan penentuan kualitas produk mocaf. Analisis kualitas meliputi kandungan HCN, rasio swelling, spectrum FTIR, pasta dan gel properties. Dari hasil pelatihan dapat disimpulkan bahwa kontrol kualitas produk mocaf Rumah Mocaf, dapat memberi pemahaman mitra untuk menjaga mutu produk mocaf yang menggunakan metode klaster pada proses produksinya

Abstract

The city of Mataram, the capital of West Nusa Tenggara province, consists of 6 sub-districts and 50 sub-districts and has 28 public and private high schools. Lecturers and students of the Department of Chemistry, who are members of the community service team, on August 5th, 2023 carried out a workshop for chemistry and biology teachers in the City of Mataram. The title of the activity was "Application of Phytochemical Screening as a medium to increase the insight of Biology and Chemistry High School Teachers in Mataran City, NTB as an alternative implementation of Merdeka Belajar". The workshop was held at SMAN 5 Mataram City involving 51 chemistry and biology teachers as participants. The material provided includes Phytochemicals and the Chemdraw application. Both of these topics are given by lecturing and discussion and also complemented by practical activities. The successful of the activity is reflected in the increase in posttest scores compared to the pretest score. Evaluation of activities in the form of filling out the questionnaires by participants also reflected the participant satisfaction, in which the majority of participants gave positive answers to each question. Similar activities remain relevant and still need to be carried out, especially in areas outside Java to broaden teachers' insight

Abstract

The coastal community of Sine Beach, Kalibatur Village, Tulungagung, Indonesia, has long thrived on fishing activities. In response to this, a community development service explores the alternative utilization of coconut, particularly the production of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), as a means of economic diversification. By integrating scientific principles with local traditions, the community learned to extract VCO and create various coconut-based products. This initiative not only broadened economic horizons but also fostered environmental sustainability. The programs aims to give economic impact to residents in Pantai Sine Tulungagung.

Abstract

The development of the region's potential encourages awareness that the area has the potential to become a tourist destination, especially in the form of a tourist village. In this regard, visionary and proactive figures are needed to unite all components of the community to collectively build and actively participate in attraction activities during tourist visits. The management of this effort is directed and organized by the community itself, and the youth, as initiators and movers, are equipped with skills to publicize and promote their tourist village using information technology, especially digital marketing.The utilization of digital marketing is a primary strategy in marketing and promoting the tourism potential of Desa Wisata Wonolopo. Information technology is used to disseminate information through social media and other digital platforms, so that the potential of Desa Wisata Wonolopo can be widely recognized by the public. The optimization of information technology usage, particularly through digital marketing, becomes a crucial means to promote and publicize Kampung Jamoe in the village of Wonolopo. This is particularly strategic in introducing the potential of traditional baby-carrying herbal products to a broader audience, with the hope of reviving the local economy in that area.
