Abstract

Drug posters are intricate communicative artifacts that carry hidden connotations, myths, and ideologies. This article employs semiotic analysis to explore the layers of symbolism in these posters. By examining both verbal and visual signs, this study aims to uncover the connotative meanings embedded in drug posters and reveal the underlying myths and ideologies. Using Saussure's semiotic theory and Barthes' theory of meaning as frameworks, various drug posters were analyzed qualitatively. The findings highlight the complex interplay between verbal and visual signs, uncovering connotations, myths, and ideologies. This research enhances our understanding of the persuasive strategies in drug posters, offering insights into their socio-cultural impact. Verbal signs often conveyed warnings about the negative impacts of drug use, while visual signs reinforced these messages with additional layers of meaning

The promising function is marked with 必ず、すぐ、約束する、てやる、swearing function is marked with 誓う、proposing function is marked with ほうがいい、どうですか、offering function is marked with ませんか、よかったら、f bargaining function is marked with ギブアンドテイク、代わりに, and voluntary function is marked with てもいい. Abstract

This article aims to analyze the lingual aspects of Indonesian football supporters’ names due to its potential to unravel the intricate interplay between language, social dynamics, and culture within this community. The data sources are Indonesian football supporters’ names from 28 clubs of the 1st and 2nd 2022/2023 league competitions. The data source is quite representative because these leagues are the two best professional leagues with the largest number of supporters in Indonesia. The authors collected data using note-taking techniques from official club websites, official supporters’ websites, media reports, and supporters’ social media accounts. Moreover, the authors also interviewed supporters from two popular League 1 clubs, PSS Sleman and Persib Bandung. Interviews were conducted to validate the naming of supporters, the language origin, and the diversity of the supporter names. Data analysis was examined by identifying the morpheme elements, categorizing the formation of naming supporters, analyzing the lexical meaning of the names, and categorizing the meaning relation of the semantic markers in the supporters’ names. Based on these findings, the authors identified trends in the semantic relations that are widely used in the naming of Indonesian supporters. The study findings show that the supporters’ names are morphologically formed through abbreviations/acronyms, lexical borrowing, and compounding. Through semantic identification, there are three categories of semantic references in the supporters’ names, namely the origin of the region and club, local culture, and military terms. In these three semantic references, the lexical choices such as mania, extreme, fanatik, brajamusti, and other military terms in the supporters’ names show the tendency of ultras feelings and fanatism of the football fandom.

Abstract

In order to better equip teachers for the profession, this research looks at the difficulties encountered by those who take part in Indonesia's Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG). The purpose of this research is to learn about the difficulties encountered by PPG members and the strategies they used to overcome them. A qualitative technique is utilized in this study's methodology. Ten teachers who had finished the PPG program at Ganesha University of Education in 2020 were involved in this research. In this study, internet interviews served as the data collection tool. There were five steps to the data processing process in this study: reading, transcribing, highlighting, keywords, and categorization. Problems with technology adoption and insufficient technical knowledge were identified as difficulties experienced by PPG members in this survey. not having a complete grasp of software expertise, being confused when selecting assessment tools, and having trouble creating lesson plans. Participants work on their problem-solving skills by studying on their own or using the YouTube app. The study's findings suggest that participants might utilize their experiences with the obstacles they faced to better prepare for the future of technology in online education.

Thus, this study aimed to fill this gap by exploring the English teacher and students' experiences in learning loss of online English field during the pandemic outbreak. A narrative inquiry was implied to express their voices. Online questionnaire to know students’ demographic background was employed. One English teacher and two third grade students shared their experiences through the narrative interview (NI). The findings showed that English teachers felt students' loss in English subjects rather than the previous cohort. Some students decreased their understanding and motivation in learning English and had to take remedial courses while missing the examination or assignments. Meanwhile, students mentioned they experienced difficulties in learning English through an online classroom. They felt they had degraded their English skills because they did not practice it at home. Moreover, they also lost interest and motivation to join the class and submit the assignments. Those factors initiated the loss in English learning for first-year secondary students.

Abstract

Finding a workable, practical, and successful way to create instructional films for the Indonesian language at SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli Utara based on persuasive text writing content is the goal of this research. Research and development encompasses this sort of study. The five-stage ADDIE paradigm is used for development; they are as follows: analysis, design, development, implementation (or execution), and evaluation. The Indonesian language learning film went through a rigorous testing process that included three separate groups of specialists (materialists, linguists, and design experts) and was piloted in eighth grade at SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli Utara. Researchers found that material expert validators gave the video a 92% validity rating at revision II, language expert validators gave it a 100% validity rating, and design expert validators gave it a 95% feasibility rating, all in relation to the persuasive text writing material taught at SMP Negeri 2 Gunugsitoli Utara. The field test had a very practical category score of 96% and a small group test score of 93% for the learning video's practicality. With a classical completion percentage of 95%, the learning film has also been evaluated and shown to be quite successful. This study's findings suggest that the ADDIE-based instructional video for the Indonesian language at SMP Negeri 2 Gunugsitoli Utara has fulfilled all criteria and is ready for usage.

Abstract

Teachers should demonstrate greater creativity in creating and enhancing instructional materials. But because SMK Negeri 2 Botomuzoi lacks the infrastructure and equipment expressly meant to promote Indonesian language instruction, teachers there continue to employ a restricted and repetitious amount of media. In order to ensure that the learning materials are reliable, useful, and efficient, this project will create comic-based learning materials for assessing the language and content of theater in the eleventh grade at SMK Negeri 2 Botomuzoi. This study uses the ADDIE model, which comprises the phases of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, as part of its research and development (R&D) methodology. Three specialists in material, language, and design evaluated the comic-based learning materials, which were then put to the test through product testing with TKJ students in the 11th grade at SMK Negeri 2 Botomuzoi. Thanks to validation scores of 97.5% from material experts, 100% from language experts, and 95% from design experts, the results show that the comic learning medium is both viable and legitimate. The learning media was rated as being very practical when it came to practicality; it received scores of 86.7% in solo testing, 94.2% in small group tests, and 93.9% in field tests. With a classical completion percentage of 96.3%, it was also proved that the learning media's effectiveness was very high. In conclusion, the ADDIE model was used to generate comic-based learning materials that analyze the language and content of drama in the 11th grade at SMK Negeri 2 Botomuzoi. These materials satisfy the required standards and may be used in the classroom.
