Abstract

This study aims to analyze the description of abusive language behavior among students at SMK Negeri 3 Soppeng, focusing on three main research questions: (1) the general overview of abusive language behavior tendencies, (2) the specific forms of dominant behavior, and (3) the influence of digital media use on such behavior. This phenomenon is crucial as verbal aggression becomes increasingly normalized in adolescent social interactions. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 36 tenth-grade students identified as having high levels of verbal aggression. Data were collected using an Abusive Language Scale adapted from the Verbal Aggressiveness Scale (VAS) and analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The results showed that: (1) the majority of students (69%) were in the high category of abusive language use; (2) the most dominant forms of behavior included the use of profanity (27%), insulting expressions (22%), and aggressive language during emotional states (20%); and (3) 19% of abusive language use occurred in digital media, influenced by the imitation of social media content. These findings emphasize the need for group counseling interventions based on the Bugis cultural values of Tellu Cappa (Cappa Lila). It is concluded that the internalization of the "tongue’s tip" philosophy is essential for reconstructing students' communication ethics and self-control based on the principle of Siri’ (self-worth/dignity).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is first, to describe the structure of descriptive texts written by seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Bukittinggi. Second, to describe the linguistic elements of descriptive texts of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Bukittinggi. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data in this study are descriptive texts of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Bukittinggi. The data sources in this study are seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri Bukittinggi in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research instrument is the researcher herself and the performance instrument is the context of writing descriptive texts. The data collection technique in this study is the fishing technique. The data validation technique used in this study is the triangulation technique. The data analysis technique is first, identifying data according to the concept or theory of structure and linguistic elements. Second, identifying data based on the reference theory. Third, analyzing data by recording sentences related to the linguistic elements of descriptive texts. Fourth, interpreting the analyzed data. Fifth, concluding the results of the data description by writing a report. The results of this study consist of two. First, in writing descriptive texts, seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Bukittinggi have used three text structures. The three text structures are identification/general description, description of parts and conclusion. This is evident from the 30 descriptive texts that have been analyzed, there are 13 complete descriptive texts using identification/general description, description of parts and conclusion. 30 texts that have an identification/general description structure, 30 texts that have a description of parts structure, and 13 texts that have a conclusion structure. Second, seen from the linguistic aspect, seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Bukittinggi still have errors. This is evident from the 372 sentences analyzed, there are 325 sentences and EYD that are incorrect. This can be seen from 55 errors in the pattern of incorrect sentence elements, 307 errors in the use of incorrect capital letters. 47 errors in inappropriate prepositions, 20 errors in the pronouns ku, kau, ku, mu, and -nya, and 40 errors in incorrect punctuation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of interactive media Go Domino on the numeracy skills of third-grade students of SD Inpres Bertingkat Mamajang 1. This study was motivated by the low numeracy skills of students caused by teacher-centered learning, lack of variety in learning methods, and minimal use of interesting and interactive learning media. This condition results in students being less active, less motivated, and having difficulty understanding basic mathematical concepts, especially addition and subtraction. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using a pretest-posttest model. The research sample consisted of 22 third-grade students. The research instruments used were observation sheets and numeracy ability test sheets to measure students' numeracy skills before and after treatment. Data analysis techniques used included descriptive statistics, normality tests, and hypothesis testing using paired sample t-tests. The results showed that the average pretest score was 46.13, which is included in the low category, then increased to 77.63 in the posttest, which is included in the high category. The results of the hypothesis testing showed a significance value of <0.001 <0.05, so H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. This indicates that there is a significant effect of the use of Go Domino interactive media on students' numeracy skills. Thus, the use of Go Domino interactive media has been proven to have a significant effect in improving students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

Learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in elementary schools plays an important role in building students' conceptual understanding, but its implementation still faces obstacles such as low student engagement, limited media variety, and difficulties in visualizing abstract material. This study aims to develop a multimedia flipbook based on Augmented Reality and test its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall  model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study was conducted at Nongkosawit 02 Elementary School, Semarang with fourth-grade students as subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and learning outcome tests, while data analysis used quantitative and qualitative descriptive approaches. The results of the study indicate that the multimedia flipbook based on Augmented Reality meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The use of this media is able to increase student engagement and provide a more interactive and meaningful learning experience, thus impacting on improving IPAS learning outcomes. Thus, the developed media is worthy of being used as an innovative alternative in IPAS learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the experimental method on science learning outcomes for 28 third-grade students at Weerame Christian Elementary School, divided equally into experimental (n=14) and control (n=14) groups. The experimental group used direct instruction. Data came from a validated 20-item multiple-choice test. Descriptive analysis revealed notable gains: the experimental group's mean pretest score was 50.68 (range: 35-60), rising to 85.23 posttest (range: 60-95; N-Gain=0.70, high effect). The control group's mean improved from 49.09 (33-75) to 61.45 (40-80; N-Gain=0.24, low effect). Pretest equality was confirmed (mean difference=1.59; p>0.05). Prerequisite tests showed normality (sig.=0.161) but marginal homogeneity (sig.=0.017). Independent Samples t-test yielded sig.=0.000 <0.05, indicating a significant posttest difference favoring the experimental group. It is therefore concluded that the experimental method influences science learning outcomes in third grade at SDM Weerame. Teachers should integrate it into science lessons under Merdeka Curriculum on elementary shcool.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of transforming local folktales into modern short stories using Canva on the writing skills of students at SMK Bintar Jalancagak. The method used in this research was an experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design involving an experimental class and a control class. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests in the form of pretests and posttests. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the Mann-Whitney Test. The results showed that there was an improvement in learning outcomes in both groups; however, the increase in the experimental class was more significant than in the control class. The average pretest score of the experimental class increased from 57.86 to 81.57 in the posttest, while the control class increased from 61.14 to 72.71. The normality test indicated that the data were not normally distributed, and the homogeneity test showed that the data variance was heterogeneous; therefore, a non-parametric test, namely the Mann-Whitney Test, was used. The hypothesis test results showed that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.002 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Thus, it can be concluded that the transformation of local folklore into modern short stories through Canva media has a positive and significant effect on improving the writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMK Bintar Jalancagak. Abstract

This study aims to describe the short story writing skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Lubuk Sikaping before and after using the writing relay method, and to analyze the effect of the application of the writing relay method on students' short story writing skills. The approach used in this study is quantitative research with a pre-experimental research type. The research design used is one group pretest and posttest design consisting of one sample class. The sampling technique in this study is purposive sampling technique. The research data obtained are in the form of short story writing skill scores which are then converted into grades. The results of the study show that the short story writing skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Lubuk Sikaping after the application of the writing relay method have increased compared to before the treatment. The average value before the application of the writing relay method was at 69.60 with a qualification of More than Sufficient (LdC), while the average value after the treatment increased to 87.50 with a qualification of Very Good (BS). Based on the statistical test results, the calculated t value was greater than the t table (7.10>1.71) at a significance level of 0.05 and a 95% confidence level. Therefore, it can be concluded that the relay writing method significantly influenced students' short story writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the flipped classroom model based on interactive videos and simulations, determine the level of students' psychomotor abilities before and after the implementation of the model, and analyze its influence on students' psychomotor abilities in the Fiqh subject of grade VIII at MTs Sumbersari Kowang. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design, with a population of all grade VIII students totaling 44 students and a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through tests (pretest and posttest), questionnaires, observation, and documentation, while data analysis used descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing in the form of a t-test (independent sample t-test) with the help of SPSS. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the interactive video and simulation-based flipped classroom model worked well and received a positive response from students. Students' psychomotor skills in the experimental class significantly improved compared to the control class. This was demonstrated by the experimental class's average score of 88.59, a 27.41-point difference compared to the control class's 61.18. This was further supported by the t-test results with a significance value of 0.001 (<0.05), indicating a significant effect of the model's implementation. Therefore, it can be concluded that the interactive video and simulation-based flipped classroom model has proven effective in significantly improving students' psychomotor skills compared to conventional learning, making it suitable for use as an alternative, innovative learning strategy in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh).

Abstract

Indonesian Language Learning for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) is not only focused on mastering linguistic aspects but also on understanding culture as the context for language use. This study aims to examine multimodal integration in BIPA learning based on the local wisdom of Tuban Gedog Batik to strengthen learners’ language skills. This study employs a literature review method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained from scientific journal articles accessed via Google Scholar and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that Tuban Gedog Batik possesses strong potential as an authentic learning resource due to its rich historical, philosophical, and socio-cultural values. Furthermore, the characteristics of Tuban Gedog Batik allow for the development of learning materials in various modes of representation, such as text, visual, audio, and audiovisual, in accordance with the principles of multimodal learning. Integrating Tuban Gedog Batik into BIPA instruction has the potential to enhance learners’ language proficiency while simultaneously strengthening their intercultural competence. The uniqueness of this study lies in the integration of a multimodal approach, audiovisual media, and the local wisdom of Tuban Gedog Batik into a single conceptual model for BIPA instruction. Furthermore, it is suitable for intermediate to advanced BIPA learners (levels 4–6) as it supports the development of reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills in a contextual manner. Thus, this study contributes to the development of culture-based and multimodal BIPA learning as an effort to support the internationalization of the Indonesian language.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ethics of cross-cultural bargaining between Indonesia and China and its implications in learning Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA). This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature study design. The data consist of relevant scholarly articles on bargaining practices, pragmatics, and cross-cultural communication. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the practice of bargaining in Indonesian culture emphasizes politeness of language, indirect communication, and social harmony, while Chinese culture is influenced by the values of collectivism, the concept of guanxi, and face oriented towards social relations and reputation. These differences show that there are variations in communication strategies that are influenced by the cultural values behind them. This research emphasizes the importance of integrating pragmatic aspects and cross-cultural communication in the development of BIPA learning materials based on authentic communication.
