Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of students’ skills in writing news texts, particularly in organizing text structure, developing the 5W+1H elements, applying language rules, and using correct Indonesian spelling (EYD). The objectives of this study were to describe the news text writing skills of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pariangan without using the Group Investigation cooperative learning model, to describe the students’ news text writing skills using the model, and to analyze the effect of the model on students’ news text writing skills. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a control-only group posttest design. The population consisted of all seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pariangan in the 2025/2026 academic year totaling 51 students. The samples were selected using purposive sampling, consisting of 25 students in the control class and 26 students in the experimental class. Data were collected through a performance test on writing news texts based on four indicators: news text structure, elements of news text, language rules, and spelling (EYD). Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and a t-test. The results showed that the average score of students’ news text writing skills without using the Group Investigation model was 69.5 (fair category), while the average score using the model was 75.96 (good category). The hypothesis testing showed that t count ”‹ >t table ”‹ (2.46 > 2.01). Therefore, it can be concluded that the Group Investigation cooperative learning model has a significant effect on the news text writing skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Pariangan

Abstract

This research is based on the low ability of fourth-grade students at SDN Tambakaji 01 in identifying main ideas in non-fiction texts. The research aims to develop learning media in the form ofboard gamesnakes and ladders based on the SAVI model, while also testing its feasibility and effectiveness in improving these capabilities. The method used isResearch and Development(R&D) with reference to the Borg and Gall model which has been simplified into eight stages of development, namely: (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revision, (6) product trial, (7) product revision, and (8) usage trial. Data collection techniques were carried out through test and non-test techniques, tests include pretest and posttest, while non-tests include observation, interviews, questionnaire distribution, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 6 class IV B students as samples in small group trials and 27 class IV A students as the population in large group trials. Data analysis techniques consisted of normality tests, N-gain tests, andpaired sample t-testThe results of the feasibility test show that the media obtained a rating percentage of 97.22.% from material experts and 98.07% from media experts with a very appropriate category. The results of the effectiveness test showed thatinthesmallgrouptest,thegain value was 0.6208, in the medium category, while in the large group test, it was 0.7209, in the high category. The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 with an average score of pretest of 58.78 with a completion percentage of 0% and an average score of posttest of  83.56 with a completion percentage of 88.89%. From the average results, a difference in scores was found pretest and posttest of 24.78% which means there is a significant difference between the results pretest and posttest. Thus, the mediaboard game the snakes and ladders game based on the SAVI model was declared feasible and effective for improving students ability to understand main ideas in non-fiction texts at SDN Tambakaji 01.

Abstract

Proficiency in beginning reading serves as a cornerstone of elementary education, laying the groundwork for students’ academic development at subsequent stages. Among Grade I students across Indonesia, difficulties in early reading literacy remain a persistent challenge in many schools. This paper seeks to examine, through a systematic approach, how effective the Syllable Wheel media has been in supporting beginning reading acquisition among Grade I elementary students, drawing on studies published from 2021 to 2026. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) framework was employed as the research method, encompassing 25 national journal articles sourced from Google Scholar, SINTA, and the Publish or Perish application. Articles were carefully filtered through four PRISMA stages—identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion—covering topical relevance, year of publication, and research quality. Bibliometric data obtained via Publish or Perish were also utilized to assess the scholarly impact and credibility of the reviewed studies. Findings indicate that wheel-based instructional media—whether referred to as the syllable wheel, reading wheel, or smart wheel—have consistently demonstrated positive outcomes, with average gains in learning mastery ranging from 20 to 55 percent compared to baseline performance. The effectiveness of these tools is largely attributed to their interactive, visual, and kinesthetic qualities, which tend to foster greater motivation, participation, and self-confidence among young learners. This review concludes that the Syllable Wheel constitutes a promising, child-friendly instructional tool for early reading in Grade I, provided that its use is thoughtfully tailored to meet the diverse learning profiles and needs of students.

Abstract

In the increasingly competitive culinary industry, promotional strategies focus not only on product quality but also on the use of language as a means of persuasive communication. Unique menu naming is one linguistic strategy that can build an image, attract attention, and influence consumer decisions. This study aims to analyze the linguistic appeal in culinary promotions through menu naming using a multimodal pragmatic approach, which focuses on the function of speech acts and the role of multimodal elements in constructing meaning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-exploratory design. Data in the form of menu names obtained from Instagram social media through documentation and screenshot techniques, then analyzed using speech act theory and a multimodal approach. The results of the study indicate five main categories of menu naming: the use of foreign languages, local languages, a combination of both, extreme terms, and power terms. Pragmatically, the dominant function of speech acts is directives that implicitly encourage consumption actions. Multimodally, meaning and appeal are built through the integration of text with visual elements such as color, typography, and illustrations. Thus, menu naming is an effective persuasive communication strategy through the synergy of linguistic and multimodal aspects in influencing consumer perceptions and decisions.

Abstract

This Study aims to describe the innovation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in utilizing technology-based differentiated learning through Super Card for Super Gen Z media and identify factors that support and hinder its implementation in learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation with analysis methods in the form of data reduction, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. The subjects of this study were Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers and students in the classes studied. The result of the study indicate thar learning innovation through Super card media can help teachers accommodate differentiated learning in aspects of content, process, and learning products. This Super Card media helps teachers adjust the interests, readiness, and learning profiles of students so that learning can be more interactive, interesting, and student-centered. In addition, the use of Super Card media can also increase student motivation, activeness, and understanding of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) materials. Factors that support the implementation of this innovation include teacher creativity in developing media, the availability of technological facilities, school support and high student interest in technology. Obstacles that arise include limited internet access, differences in student technology skills, and limited time to prepare learning media. Therefore, this Super Card for Super Gen Z media could be an effective and relevant learning innovation to improve the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum development in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, as well as to identify implementation challenges and formulate a synthesis of relevant solutions. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were collected from scientific journal articles, books, and educational policy documents, and analyzed using content analysis through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the PAI curriculum has transformed from a traditional approach into a competency-based, contextual, and character-oriented curriculum. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, including limited teacher competence, infrastructure disparities, and the suboptimal integration of Islamic values with modern learning approaches. These conditions create a gap between the ideal curriculum design and its practical implementation. Based on the synthesis of findings, this study proposes an integrative model for PAI curriculum development consisting of three main pillars: teacher competency transformation, value-based technology integration, and contextual learning enhancement. These pillars are interconnected and essential for creating adaptive, relevant, and value-oriented PAI learning. This study contributes by offering an analytical perspective that integrates curriculum development, implementation challenges, and learning solutions into a comprehensive framework.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has significantly transformed the learning ecosystem of Islamic Religious Education (IRE), particularly in terms of access to and distribution of religious information among students. This study aims to analyze and synthesize various research findings related to Islamic Religious Education teachers strategies in responding to the dominance of digital religious information, focusing on digital literacy, pedagogical strategies, and the use of digital media in learning. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method and content analysis techniques. Data were collected from various scientific journal articles, books, and academic publications published within the last ten years. The findings indicate that the dominance of digital religious information has led to a shift in knowledge authority, variations in students understanding, and potential misconceptions in interpreting religious teachings. In response, Islamic Religious Education teachers implement strategies such as strengthening digital literacy, applying pedagogical approaches including critical discussion and clarification, and utilizing digital media as a learning tool and value reinforcement medium. The synthesis reveals that these three aspects are interconnected and need to be integrated into a comprehensive learning framework. This study emphasizes that Islamic Religious Education teachers play a crucial role as facilitators, mediators, and guides in developing critical, contextual, and value-based religious understanding in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model with a Deep Learning approach on the reflective thinking ability of fifth-grade students on the topic of food chains. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a pretest–posttest experimental design. The subjects of the study were fifth-grade students of SDN Kepuh Kiriman I Waru, consisting of two experimental classes, namely class V-B and class V-A, with 28 students in each class. The research instruments included reflective thinking essay tests in the form of pretest and posttest, observation sheets, student response questionnaires, and a reflective thinking attitude scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and the N-Gain test to determine the improvement in students’ reflective thinking abilities. The results showed that students' reflective thinking abilities improved, with an N-Gain score of 0.71 in experimental class 1 and 0.72 in experimental class 2, which are categorized as high. The average posttest scores also indicated good results, namely 84.44 in experimental class 1 and 85.93 in experimental class 2. In addition, questionnaire results showed that students responded positively to the learning process, and the reflective thinking attitude scale indicated a dominance of the “strongly agree” category across several indicators. Therefore, the Project Based Learning model with a Deep Learning approach is effective in improving students’ reflective thinking abilities on the topic of food chains.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the viability, usability, and efficacy of using Wordwall as a foundation for an interactive learning media unit covering the subject of “Akibat Tidak Mematuhi Aturan” with students in third grade of primary school. Analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating are the steps that make up the ADDIE development paradigm, which was used in this study as an R&D approach. Seventeen third graders from SDN Pondokrejo participated in the research. Methods such as exams, interviews, and observation were used to gather data. Pre- and post-test questions, together with expert validation sheets, questionnaires for both teachers and students, and other relevant tools were utilized. Evaluations conducted by material experts, language experts, and media experts confirmed that the Wordwall-based learning media that were created fulfilled the validity requirements. The medium was deemed practical by both instructors and students, and it was shown to effectively improve students' learning outcomes, as seen by the rise in posttest scores. Consequently, wordwalls are a great fit for primary schools looking for a fresh, dynamic, and interesting way to teach their students.

Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing students' metacognitive skills in solving Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions on two-variable linear equation systems (SPLDV) in terms of their mathematical disposition levels. This study applies a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were selected based on high, medium, and low mathematical disposition categories. Data were collected through mathematical disposition questionnaires, HOTS tests, and interviews. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing using triangulation techniques. The results showed that mathematical disposition influenced students' metacognitive skills. Students with high mathematical disposition successfully achieved the indicators of planning, monitoring, and evaluation optimally. Students with moderate mathematical disposition were able to achieve the indicators of planning and monitoring, but were not yet able to achieve the indicator of evaluation. Meanwhile, students with low mathematical disposition did not succeed in achieving the three indicators of metacognitive skills. The results of the study indicate that mathematical disposition plays a role in determining the level of students' metacognitive skills. Thus, educators need to plan the mathematics learning process that emphasizes students' thinking processes so that students' metacognitive skills can develop optimally.
