Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of the ability of students of class XI SMA Negeri 19 Gowa in solving math problems based on their learning style is the main focus of this research. The research subjects were 2 students, namely 1 student cognitive style field dependent and 1 student cognitive style field independent. The researcher is the main instrument with supporting instruments namely GEFT test sheet, problem solving proficiency test sheet, and interview guide. The conclusions of this study are: (1) the subject's problem solving ability with field dependent cognitive style is still lacking because the subject can understand the problem presented but has not been able to formulate a solution plan appropriately and has not been able to implement the solution plan. Subjects also have not been able to do a careful recheck; (2) Subject problem solving ability with cognitive field independent style is very good because the subject is able to interpret the problem neatly and able to formulate a good solution plan, and can apply every step of the solution that has been designed. The subject is also able to re-evaluate each stage of the solution so that the subject is confident in the correctness of his answer.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a Teaching Industry-based (TI-based) learning model in accordance with the characteristics of Independent Curriculum (IC) in Vocational High Schools (VHS) and produce an TI-based learning modules for implementation of learning in accordance with IC in VHS. This study is a research & development that follows the development model of Plomp (2007), which starts from initial investigation, model testing, and model implementation. Yet, in the initial stage, this study focuses on the design of TI-based learning model and the development of TI-based learning modules that are in accordance with the characteristics of IC. The model development procedure starts with study of the teaching industry theories, the learning models theories that are relevant to the TI concept, and the independent curriculum concept. Furthermore, the syntax of TI-based model in the context of IC is adopted and elaborated from learning syntaxes relevant to the TI concept. The learning module developed starts from the step of analyzing learning objectives and work competencies that must be mastered by students (hard skills and soft skills). Furthermore, the module was tested on users with 45 respondents. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques to describe the feasibility of the learning module.

Abstract

The implementation of the research is based on the number of cases of incest that occurred in South Sulawesi. The research aims to provide an overview of how the existence of pappaseng “Tellu Riala Sappo” can be used to prevent the emergence of incest behavior in the Bugis community of South Sulawesi. The method of this research is qualitative approach through a case study. The data collection consists of interview techniques and documentation studies. The Data Analysis was conducted for several stages. It consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The performing data validation b using data triangulation. The results of data analysis point out that (1) the phenomenon of incest occurs in the Bugis people of South Sulawesi. Most of the incest cases that occur because of the perpetrator’s lack of self-control and religious understanding, so that they cannot contain their lust. (2) The existence of Pappaseng Tellu Riala Sappo in the Bugis community is only known by some people, and; (3) Pappaseng Tellu Riala Sappo contains religious values and self-control (Siri’) that can prevent the emergence of incest behavior in the Bugis people of South Sulawesi.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education in Indonesia must be a top priority in building superior human resources. With superior resources, Indonesia can compete in the international world. For that, we need superior resources and mastery of modern technology. Schools and teachers must become Agents of Change to shape young people with professional competence. Therefore, learning in the classroom must be directed so that students can master the concepts of the provided material. In addition, teachers need to improve students' self-confidence and their ability to manage themselves so that students are always actively involved in learning. This study aims to determine how the concept mastery of class XI students at SMA XYZ Jakarta is influenced by self-efficacy, self-regulated learning, and student engagement. This study's respondents were 94 students of class XI SMA XYZ Jakarta. Data was collected using a Google form containing 26 statement items using a Likert Scale. The data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 with an outer and inner model. The research hypothesis is enough to examine whether the path coefficient sign is by the hypothesis. The results of the study show that self-efficacy, self-regulated learning, and student engagement have a positive effect on concept mastery.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive research using quantitative approach. This research was conducted at Senior High Schools in East Palu in August 2022. The sample of this study consisted of five biology teachers of State Senior High School in East Palu. The instrument used was an open-ended questionnaire that included five dimensions of TPACK. Each TPACK section contains three issues derived from three indicators. With the help of the open-ended questionnaire, the use of TPACK-based learning media by biology teachers can be measured externally and deeply. The results showed that the most used media by biology teachers is technology-based media particularly PowerPoint media. According to the teachers, PowerPoint media is easy to use and develop, and it can support students to interpret the material effectively and practically. Another media used by biology teachers is traditional media utilization where they use media as learning tools. Finally, the teachers employ pictures of laboratory materials as these are easier to find.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the description of generation Z on career choices before applying the genogram technique, design an overview of the development of the genogram technique as a tool for determining generation Z career choices, and conduct a suitability test for applying the genogram technique in increasing generation Z career choices in Makassar city. This research was conducted in the city of Makassar on generation Z children. The approach used in this study was a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and t-test. The results showed that (1) the description of the Z generation's career choices before being given the genogram technique was in the low category. (2) The description of the implementation of the genogram technique for Generation Z was carried out in 3 meetings, as evidenced by the ability of students to show the results of the genogram. (3) The genogram technique is categorized as effective for increasing the career choices of generation Z students. Therefore, it can be written that the genogram technique can provide direction for career choices and support the development of students in determining effectively future careers.

Abstract

This research analyzed the strategic role of community leaders in developing culture-based education and formulating a social facilitation model for community leaders in improving quality education in Mappi Regency, Papua. This is a qualitative action research. Data collection used Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and data analysis used SWOT analysis. The findings showed that community leaders have a strategic role in culture-based education to preserve cultural values as important social capital for the Mappi younger generation. The main challenges for community leaders include lacking facilities, infrastructure, formal qualifications, and weak coordination. In their involvement in schools, community leaders have opportunities through utilizing school operational assistance funds and guidance from community organizations. In addition, optimizing the role of community leaders required improved coordination, facilities, and affirmative policies. The facilitated engagement model involving community leaders in teaching local skills and knowledge has proven effective in developing culture-based education in schools. The community leader teaching program is considered an important tool to advance culture-based education in Mappi. Schools that have implemented this social facilitation model should continue to be promoted as role models for other schools in integrating Mappi cultural elements into the school curriculum. Abstract

This research explains the role of parents in implementing the concept of "Merdeka Belajar" for children who have not yet pursued education in Makassar City, focusing on comparing traditional families and modern families. This research analyzes how traditional and modern families support and facilitate preschool children to learn independently. The research method involved surveys, interviews and observations of families representing both groups. The results illustrate significant differences in the approaches and practices of parents from traditional families and modern families towards the concept of "Independent Learning." There is a difference in approach between traditional and modern families supporting independent learning for preschool-age children. Traditional families tend to use more conventional methods, such as reading stories, providing particular time for learning, and showing patience when children have not mastered the material. Meanwhile, modern families utilize more digital media in the learning process. However, traditional and modern families try to stimulate children's curiosity, show appreciation, and create an exciting learning environment. Both face challenges, such as easily bored children with difficulty concentrating. Another difference lies in integrating learning activities with daily activities, which traditional families tend to do, while modern families utilize technology more in the learning process. There are differences in how parents can play a role in encouraging learning independence in preschool children in Makassar city.

Abstract

The objective of this research is identify and understand the impact of strengthening civic education on the nationalism attitudes of children of Indonesian migrant workers in Selangor, Malaysia, and provide guidelines to strengthen their nationalism identity. This research is a descriptive study using qualitative methods and participatory and collaborative approaches. Data were collected through observation, interviews, data analysis and documentation of 4th, 5th and 6th grade students at Hulu Langat Guidance Center. The data analysis technique used is Qualitative data analysis technique including Data Reduction, Data Presentation and Conclusion Drawing or Verification. The results showed that the strengthening of comprehensive civic education had a significant effect on the knowledge and nationalism attitudes of children of migrant workers, including the Indonesian president, the basis of the state and the application of the Pancasila precepts in everyday life. So it is concluded that strengthening comprehensive civic education has a very important role in improving the nationalism attitudes of children of migrant workers
