Abstract

This study aims to develop and assess the feasibility of a Project-Based Learning (PjBL)-based e-module using a flipbook for fifth-grade descriptive text material. The background of this research is students' low writing skills and the limited use of interactive teaching methods. The research employed the Research and Development (RnD) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The study involved 28 fifth-grade students from SD Negeri 021 Sungai Kunjang. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and observations, with feasibility assessments from experts and feedback from students and teachers. The results indicate that the developed e-module achieved a high feasibility rating: 96% from media experts, 95% from material experts, 97% from language experts, and 98% from teachers. Student responses were highly positive, categorized as "very practical" (87% in small-scale trials and 96% in large-scale trials). Teachers also rated it as "very practical," with a score of 97%. In conclusion, the e-module is suitable for use in learning. Future research is recommended to incorporate more visual elements, test its effectiveness in teaching, and expand the content variety.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) the extent of improvement in science literacy skills among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 13 Makassar after implementing the multiple representation learning model, and 2) whether there is a significant difference in the average score improvement in science literacy skills among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 13 Makassar before and after the implementation of the multiple representation learning model. This research employs a pre-experimental design using the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study population includes all eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 13 Makassar, with purposive sampling selecting class VIII B as the sample. The research instrument used is a science literacy test. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The analysis results indicate that: 1) there is an improvement in science literacy skills among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 13 Makassar taught using the multiple representation learning model, which falls into the moderate category, and 2) there is a significant difference in the average score improvement in science literacy skills among students before and after the implementation of the multiple representation learning model.

Abstract

The PISA score in 2022 decreased by 12 points from the previous edition. This result is the lowest score on record and extends the downward trend in scores from the last five editions of the assessment. In reading tests, reading techniques and materials affect students' reading ability. This study aims to reveal the effect of reading materials and reading frequency on students' reading comprehension ability. Quantitative research was applied to 64 samples. The research data were collected using questionnaires and objective tests. The results showed that students who liked reading digital reading had better reading comprehension (mean rank: 36.58) than students who liked reading print (mean rank: 29.88). Based on the frequency of reading, students' interest in reading was classified as low: high (n= 1); medium (n= 15); and low (n= 48). Reading frequency was positively correlated with reading comprehension performance. High reading frequency has the best reading comprehension performance (mean rank: 62.00), medium frequency (mean rank: 38.33), and low frequency (mean rank: 30.06). Students' low interest in reading is a signal for interventions to develop students' interest in reading, which has implications for improving academic performance.

Abstract

In 2020, the government conducted a Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) for students in Indonesia's 5th, 8th, and 11th grades. However, the results of this MCA are still not satisfactory. This research aims to group an area according to the level of data similarity using the k-means clustering method with the categorization of the area into low, medium, and high. This study uses MCA result data on literacy and numeracy for each level of education. From each cluster formed, there are significant differences in characteristics based on testing from the Tukey and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test. From the categorization of the clusters formed, it's expected that the government needs to provide particular interventions in areas included in cluster 1, which consists of 19 provinces in Indonesia with the lowest AKM characteristic scores. Abstract

Situations and conditions of different family statuses, such as families with divorced status, make students who have this experience feel different from other students, providing challenges for each student who has this experience. This condition triggers obstacles and pressures during the learning process at school, so an ability that can be built into facing these problematic experiences is needed; this ability is resilience. This research aims to see and determine the relationship between resilience and learning motivation in adolescents whose parents are divorced. The subjects in this study consisted of 162 students from divorced parents at SMA Kartika XX-1 Makassar. The sampling technique used in this research was saturated samples. This research was measured using a modified learning motivation and resilience scale. The analysis used in this research is product-moment correlation using SPSS 26.0 software. The results of this study show that in adolescents whose parents are divorced, there is a relationship between resilience and learning motivation with a significance value of 0.000 (sig < α). The person correlation value is 0.994, which means that the higher the resilience, the higher the motivation to learn in teenagers whose parents are divorced. The implications of this research can provide an overview of resilience and learning motivation in adolescents whose parents are divorced

Abstract

This study aims to develop a pocketbook as an information service medium to help students recognize and explore their potential before selecting a specialization class. Choosing an appropriate specialization is expected to optimize students' skill development. This study employs the ADDIE development model by Lee & Owens (2004), which consists of five stages: (1) Analysis (Need Assessment & Front-End Analysis), (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. The research subjects consist of 34 seventh-grade students at MTsN 1 Kota Makassar, involving counseling teachers and lecturers as material and media validators. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews and then analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The developed product is a pocketbook called Magic Touch. The research findings indicate that Magic Touch is feasible as an information service medium for recognizing and exploring students' potential. This is supported by validation results from material and media experts, as well as positive feedback from the research subjects. This pocketbook is expected to serve as an effective tool for students in determining a specialization that aligns with their potential, thereby supporting both their academic and non-academic development.

Abstract

In the 21st century digital era, technological advancements have significantly impacted education, demanding critical thinking skills to support students' career and life development. This study aims to examine the application of e-scrapbooks in case-based learning as a method to enhance students' critical thinking skills. The research uses action research with a qualitative approach, analyzed through the Spiral Model of Kemmis and Taggart. The subjects were 86 students enrolled in the Basic Social and Cultural Sciences course. Results showed that students, when creating e-scrapbook content, identified relevant issues in education, society, and culture, formulated questions, and analyzed cases. They then sourced, reduced, and evaluated the credibility of data before presenting, revising based on feedback, and consulting with lecturers. A questionnaire indicated a 77.71% positive response, categorized as "Good," confirming that case-based e-scrapbook creation effectively enhanced students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Comic development serves as a medium to deliver information more clearly and understandably. This study aimed to identify needs, design, validate, and assess the practicality and effectiveness of the product. The method combined elements from the Four-D, Dick and Carey, and ADDIE models. Product practicality, evaluated through questionnaires by students and counseling teachers, was rated very high. Effectiveness testing using pretest and posttest with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed improved student understanding of verbal and social bullying. Thus, the educational comic proved effective in preventing bullying at school.
