Abstract

This study aims to improve food security and nutritional status in the Tou Barat Village community, Kota Baru District, Ende Regency, by utilizing their yards as nutrition gardens. The main problem faced by the community is low vegetable and fruit consumption due to limited land, nutritional knowledge, and access to nutritious food. The implementation method uses a participatory approach through education, training, and direct mentoring for villagers. The activity stages include counseling on the benefits of nutrition gardens, selecting superior seeds, land preparation, planting, and plant care using polybag, hydroponic, and vertical cultivation systems. The results showed a significant increase in community participation, with involvement reaching 240 families, a 300% increase compared to the previous program. This program successfully utilized unproductive land as a source of nutritious food that helps prevent stunting and strengthens family economic independence. In addition, the nutrition gardens serve as an educational medium that raises awareness of the importance of a healthy and environmentally friendly diet. Overall, this program has proven effective in promoting local food security, community empowerment, and the implementation of sustainable agricultural principles.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve English pronunciation skills through an extensive listening method for children at Panti Asuhan Putera Bonang Banjarmasin. The research objectives were to investigate how effective the implementation of pronunciation training through extensive listening was and to assess the extent of its impact on the children's English pronunciation abilities. The methodology involved a combination of lectures, discussions, and structured exercises, including pretests and posttests. The program was conducted with 15 participants aged 12 to 15 years, most of whom had limited English proficiency. The results indicated significant improvement in the children's pronunciation skills, with average pretest scores rising from 62.93 to 81.33 in the posttest, accompanied by a decrease in standard deviation and error margin, suggesting a more consistent outcome. These findings highlight the effectiveness of the extensive listening method in enhancing pronunciation and fostering a more natural and enjoyable learning process for underprivileged children. The study suggests that similar interventions could be replicated in other orphanages to bridge the language gap and improve communication skills for future opportunities.

Abstract

This community service aims to enhance teachers' abilities in utilizing Android-based applications as teaching aids for Social Studies (IPS) at SMP Negeri 4 Huamual Belakang. The activities are carried out through training, mentoring, and hands-on practice in using educational applications to present material in an interactive, contextual, and engaging manner for students. This community service activity uses a participatory approach with training and mentoring methods, focusing on improving teachers' capacity in utilizing Android-based applications as aids in Social Studies (IPS) learning. The results of the activities indicate an improvement in teachers' competencies in selecting, operating, and developing Android applications that align with the curriculum and student characteristics. Additionally, the implementation of Android-based applications can enhance learning motivation, active engagement, as well as students' critical and creative thinking skills in understanding social phenomena. This service is also in line with the Merdeka Belajar policy, which promotes student-centered learning and digital literacy in schools. Thus, these activities not only enhance teachers' technological skills but also transform social studies (IPS) learning practices towards a more modern, participatory, and contextual approach, as well as strengthen collaboration between universities and schools in remote areas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of pension administration services for Civil Servants at PT. Taspen (Persero) Kupang, focusing on three main dimensions: tangible, reliability, and responsiveness. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving eleven informants consisting of employees and Taspen participants. The findings indicate that the overall service quality at PT. Taspen Kupang is generally good, though several aspects require improvement. In the tangible dimension, office facilities and technology utilization are adequate, yet the waiting area and certain equipment need upgrading. In the reliability dimension, services are generally timely and accurate, but delays may occur during high participant volumes. Meanwhile, in the responsiveness dimension, staff are generally attentive and polite, though responsiveness decreases during busy service periods. The study concludes that improving facilities, optimizing technology, and enhancing employee training in public service are essential to strengthening the overall service quality of pension administration at PT. Taspen (Persero) Kupang.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase partners' insight into the knowledge and skills of Pattimura University Laboratory School teachers in developing learning tools with the Research Based Learning (RBL) model. The target that the implementers want to achieve in this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of teachers as activity partners, and it is hoped that this knowledge and skills can be applied in the learning process, so that the research skills that have been formed since students were at school can be improved. The method used in implementing the activity is training in developing learning tools using the RBL model for teachers at the Unpatti Laboratory School, from elementary to high school levels. To ensure the training runs smoothly and achieves its targets and expected outcomes, it is necessary to develop a step-by-step activity plan, including preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The method used in this training activity will begin with the material provided is the deep learning approach in the independent curriculum, technology in learning and providing material on the Research Based Learning model, the preparation of learning tools using the Research Based Learning model, and simulation of the application of the learning tools that have been prepared. During the preparation of learning tools and peer teaching, the community service implementation team was directly assisted. The results of community service activities through training activities on preparing learning tools using the RBL model showed that overall the training participants were able to prepare learning tools in the form of RPP and LKPD with a good category, while Technology and teaching materials were in the very good category.

Abstract

This Community Service activity focuses on strengthening mediation training for Damang and Mantir Adat in the Sebangau District, aiming to enhance their knowledge, skills, and professionalism in resolving community conflicts. The program was implemented by a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Law, Palangka Raya University, involving the Damang Customary Head, Mantir as Assistant Damang, the Sebangau District Head, and local village officials. This training was considered essential in accordance with Supreme Court Regulation (Perma) No. 1 of 2016 concerning Mediation Procedures in Court, particularly Article 36, which allows mediation outside the court to be facilitated by community or customary leaders. The main issue identified was the limited understanding among Damang and Mantir Adat regarding the proper format and procedures for drafting a legally binding Peace Agreement, as well as the follow-up mechanisms to ensure its enforcement under both Customary and National Law. Therefore, the training aimed to provide participants with the necessary legal knowledge and practical skills to prepare and implement peace agreements in compliance with existing regulations. During the sessions, participants actively engaged in discussions and question-and-answer activities. They were also introduced to a standardized peace agreement format and practiced drafting agreements using the provided template. This initiative successfully improved the capacity of Damang and Mantir Adat as mediators, enabling them to conduct conflict resolution processes that are both culturally rooted and legally valid.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the optimization of social media as a Word of Mouth (WOM) marketing strategy to enhance reputation and customer loyalty at FST X Garage, a modern automotive workshop in Magetan, Indonesia. The research is motivated by the growing competition in the automotive service industry and the increasing reliance of consumers on digital recommendations. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and social media content documentation. The analysis applied Miles and Huberman’s interactive model to identify WOM elements based on Jonah Berger’s Contagious theory, including Social Currency, Triggers, Emotion, Public, Practical Value, and Stories. The findings reveal that WOM at FST X Garage emerges organically through positive customer experiences, service transparency, and direct owner-customer interactions. Social media acts as a catalyst that amplifies public exposure through authentic User-Generated Content. The study implies that integrating service quality and digital communication is essential for building long-term reputation and provides practical insights for automotive service entrepreneurs in applying social media–based WOM strategies effectively.

Abstract

This community service initiative aimed to empower Islamic boarding school students and local farmers in Lempake, Samarinda, through the transfer of innovative biochar production technology utilizing biomass waste. The target community faces significant challenges, including poor soil fertility, land degradation from post-mining activities, and underutilization of abundant organic waste. The introduced biochar technology employs a simple pyrolysis process using Kon-Tiki Kilns to convert agricultural residues into porous, carbon-rich material, enhancing soil structure, nutrient retention, and water-holding capacity while reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers. The Program activities included field observations, awareness campaigns, hands-on training, technology demonstrations, mentoring, and evaluation, with Pesantren Rahmatullah serving as a strategic hub for education and local innovation. The results showed significant improvements in participants' knowledge and skills in producing and applying biochar, stimulating community-based business opportunities, enhancing soil.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance lecturers’ competence in book writing assisted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) as part of strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. The training was conducted at the Institute of Transportation and Logistics Trisakti through a participatory approach encompassing five integrated stages: needs analysis, module development, online training implementation, intensive mentoring, and evaluation with follow-up actions. The results demonstrated significant improvement in participants’ understanding of academic book structure and writing techniques, writing speed, and confidence in utilizing AI as a creative partner (co-writer). AI was proven to play a strategic role in idea formulation, manuscript editing, reference management, and enhancing the quality of academic language. However, challenges related to ethical AI usage, academic integrity, and digital literacy remain essential areas for improvement. Overall, this training contributes to developing a productive, ethical, and sustainable digital literacy ecosystem in academia and serves as an innovative model for strengthening lecturers’ capacities toward higher education transformation in the digital era.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the healthcare sector, including independent dental practices, have experienced significant growth following the COVID-19 pandemic due to increased public awareness of disease prevention. However, this sector still faces challenges in complying with legal regulations and adapting to digital innovation to maintain competitiveness. Provisions such as the Medical Practice Law and various regulations from the Minister of Health require compliance with facility standards, medical waste management, and patient protection as requirements for obtaining operational permits. Furthermore, utilising digital technology through online promotions, social media, and electronic communications is a crucial strategy for attracting younger generations and building a professional image. Studies show that this approach can strengthen public engagement and trust in healthcare services. The case of the relocation of a family dental clinic in Malang City illustrates these challenges, particularly in terms of legal compliance and the use of digital media. Through a legal and digitalisation assistance programme, the clinic was supported in preparing legal documents such as hazardous waste agreements, pharmacy partnerships, and standard operating procedures. Furthermore, a digital marketing strategy was designed to strengthen brand identity and increase engagement on social media. As a result, the clinic demonstrated significant progress in legal readiness and improved digital image, although minor improvements are still needed. This programme demonstrates that the synergy between regulatory compliance and digital transformation can be a crucial foundation for the sustainability and competitiveness of healthcare SMEs in the modern era.
