Abstract

Effective business communication is critical in improving organizational efficiency, speeding up decision-making, and reducing conflict. However, in practice, communication is often hampered by logical fallacies, which can undermine the quality of the message conveyed and interfere with rational decision-making. This research aims to analyze the impact of logical fallacies in business communication, focusing on their influence on organizational decision-making and interpersonal relationships in the professional world. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, analyzing the different types of logical fallacies that appear in business communication as well as their influence on organizational dynamics. The results show that fallacies such as ad hominem, false dilemma, slippery slope and overgeneralization often lead to irrational, limited or biased decisions which in turn are detrimental to the organization. In addition, the use of fallacies can worsen interpersonal relationships, triggering conflict, tension and distrust among individuals in a team, which hinders constructive cooperation. The conclusion of this study is that logical fallacies have a significant impact on both aspects, and to create more effective communication and rational decision-making, it is imperative for organizations to avoid the use of fallacies. Critical thinking training that focuses on the detection and avoidance of fallacies is an important step to improve the quality of communication and the effectiveness of decisions made in organizations.

Abstract

This study systematically reviews the recent literature on Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) and its influence on employee green behavior (EGB) across various industries from 2015 to 2025. GHRM, which integrates environmental values into HR practices such as recruitment, training, and rewards, is increasingly recognized as a strategic approach to promoting sustainability and pro-environmental actions in organizations. Using a comprehensive search strategy across multiple academic databases and guided by the PCO (Population, Comparison, Outcome) framework, 38 empirical studies were selected and analyzed. Thematic synthesis revealed that the majority of research (81.58%) focuses on employee behavior, while environmental performance, job satisfaction, and organizational performance remain less explored. Key mediators and moderators identified include green organizational commitment, psychological climate, knowledge sharing, and green transformational leadership. The findings highlight that innovative GHRM practices not only foster employee engagement in sustainability initiatives but also contribute to organizational reputation and compliance with evolving environmental standards. However, challenges such as limited resources and resistance to change persist. This review underscores the need for further research on underexplored outcomes and provides practical insights for aligning HR strategies with environmental sustainability goals.

Abstract

This study explores the strategic and operational impacts of digitalization in higher education institutions (HEIs), focusing on the role of information systems (IS) as enablers of institutional performance. Anchored in a qualitative multi-case study design, the research investigates how IS enhance administrative efficiency, support data-driven decision-making, and navigate the sociotechnical challenges of digital transformation. Guided by the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework and the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory, the study draws on in-depth interviews, participant observation, and institutional document analysis across universities with differing levels of digital maturity. Findings reveal that IS significantly improve service delivery and strategic agility, particularly through analytics integration and automation of academic workflows. However, barriers such as organizational resistance, digital literacy gaps, and infrastructure limitations constrain transformation outcomes. The study contributes to theory by integrating TOE and RBV in analyzing IS adoption, and to practice by offering actionable insights for institutional leaders. It concludes that digital transformation is not purely technological but deeply human and contextual—requiring adaptive leadership, inclusive strategies, and sustained investment in digital capacity.

Abstract

The evolving complexities of higher education institutions demand innovative governance strategies that integrate strategic management into academic administration. This study explores the conceptual and operational dynamics of such integration and its impact on institutional performance. Employing a qualitative multi-case design across selected Indonesian universities, the research analyzes leadership agency, strategic alignment mechanisms, and digital enablement within academic operations. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and focus group discussions, and analyzed using thematic content analysis and grounded theory principles. Findings reveal that strategic integration fosters institutional coherence, enhances responsiveness to change, and improves key performance indicators such as accreditation outcomes, research productivity, and stakeholder satisfaction. Leadership plays a central role in mediating strategic intent and administrative execution, while digital tools support transparency and real-time decision-making. Despite structural and cultural barriers—including siloed governance and limited strategic literacy—institutions that adopt participatory and adaptive approaches demonstrate greater strategic maturity. This study contributes to the literature by offering a multi-level framework for embedding strategic management within academic workflows. The model emphasizes the importance of transformational leadership, collaborative planning, and digital infrastructure in achieving strategic coherence. Implications for practice include the need for strategic capacity-building, integrated planning systems, and policy support for institutional alignment. Recommendations for future research include comparative studies across diverse national contexts and longitudinal assessments of strategy-performance linkages.

Abstract

This qualitative study explores the strategic decision-making practices of higher education leaders in Indonesia during the implementation of national policy directives. Drawing on in-depth, semi-structured interviews and document analysis, the research employs a thematic analysis approach to investigate how rectors, deans, and senior academic administrators interpret, negotiate, and enact educational reforms. The findings reveal three interrelated leadership dynamics: strategic mediation, symbolic and practical alignment, and distributed decision spaces. Through a dialectical engagement with strategic leadership and institutional theory, the study develops an integrative conceptual model that reconceptualizes policy implementation as an iterative and context-sensitive process. This model contributes theoretical novelty by synthesizing competing paradigms and offers practical insights for advancing reflexive, policy-literate leadership in complex governance environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Family Education Curriculum as a strategic effort to increase parental involvement as school partners in character education. This study used a naturalistic qualitative approach with a single case study design conducted at Aya Sophia Islamic School Business Junior High School, Tangerang. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews and documentation, with analysis using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that curriculum planning was carried out contextually through the preparation of modules based on Islamic values and national character, program socialization, and cultural content adaptation. Program implementation is facilitated by a participatory organizational structure, face-to-face and online parent training, and community-based parenting mentoring. Formative and summative evaluations indicated a transformation of parenting from an authoritarian approach to a religious democratic model, characterized by the strengthening of affective closeness, moral exemplification, and the integration of Islamic spirituality in parenting. The findings reinforce the importance of value synergy between school and family and the need for adaptive replication of similar curricula in other contexts.

Abstract

PT Kalimantan Prima Persada (KPP) faces challenges in achieving its Group Leader (GL) recruitment target, with only 60% of the 90% target achieved in 2022–2023. Large monthly fluctuations (9%–71%) indicate that the current recruitment strategy is ineffective and could hinder the company's expansion. This study aims to analyze the dominant factors influencing the effectiveness of GL recruitment at KPP, particularly in the highly competitive mining industry. The study used a quantitative explanatory approach using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). Data were obtained through questionnaires administered to 136 respondents, consisting of 15 HR team members and 121 GL candidates. Ten initial variables measured using a Likert scale included recruitment sources, selection methods, employer branding, recruitment technology, user department involvement, organizational culture, compensation and benefits, company regulations, candidate experience, and candidate diversity. The EFA analysis revealed six key factors influencing recruitment effectiveness. The most dominant factors were the quality of internal recruitment and organizational culture, while second-highest-ranking factors included diversity, communication, and well-being. The study also found gaps in user department involvement and suboptimal candidate diversification. Based on these findings, several strategic recommendations were proposed: strengthening organizational culture and compensation systems, increasing user department involvement in the selection process, integrating AI-based recruitment technology, and developing employer branding that emphasizes candidate experience. This study provides an important contribution to understanding critical GL recruitment factors in the mining industry and opens up opportunities for further research by testing the model on other mining companies with similar characteristics.
