Abstract

: This study aims to analyze the construction of digital dakwah aesthetics through visual dramaturgy and symbolic communication in the Instagram content of @ppsunandrajat, the official account of Pondok Pesantren Sunan Drajat (PPSD) Lamongan. The study employed a qualitative approach to digital content analysis, integrating Erving Goffman’s dramaturgical perspective and Roland Barthes’ semiotic framework. Data were collected through systematic observation of Instagram content published between 2024 and 2026, visual documentation, and in-depth interviews with three key informants involved in content production and management. The findings reveal that Instagram functions not only as an information-sharing platform but also as a strategic medium for constructing institutional identity and for digital dakwah communication. Visual representations of religious authority figures, mosque architecture, institutional color palettes, and student activities are deliberately organized to create a coherent image of a pesantren that is both religiously authentic and technologically adaptive. Through dramaturgical analysis, the account operates as a digital front stage where impression management is carefully maintained. Meanwhile, semiotic analysis demonstrates that visual elements communicate denotative, connotative, and mythological meanings associated with spiritual authority, educational excellence, and institutional legitimacy. This study contributes theoretically to the development of digital dakwah studies by highlighting the significance of visual communication in shaping religious identity within contemporary social media environments. Practically, the findings provide insights for Islamic educational institutions in developing effective, audience-oriented, and visually persuasive digital dakwah strategies

Abstract

Educational institutions are increasingly required to respond to rapid educational reforms, technological advancement, and rising expectations for educational quality, making innovative leadership an essential competency for school principals. However, limited empirical research has examined how innovative leadership behavior contributes to the development of the National Education Standards (Standar Nasional Pendidikan) within Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the innovative leadership behavior of madrasah principals in developing the National Education Standards through a multisite qualitative study conducted at MTs Negeri 3 Jombang and MTs Negeri 16 Jombang, Indonesia. A qualitative multisite case study design was employed, involving principals, vice principals, teachers, administrative staff, school committee members, and supervisors selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, followed by within-site and cross-site analysis. The findings reveal that innovative leadership behavior operates through four interconnected stages: opportunity exploration, idea generation, idea championing, and idea implementation. These behavioral stages enable principals to transform educational challenges into sustainable institutional innovation through collaborative planning, stakeholder engagement, resource mobilization, and continuous evaluation. The study proposes an Innovative Leadership Behavior Model for Madrasah Development, extending the Innovative Work Behavior framework into educational leadership. The findings contribute to the literature on educational leadership by providing a behavioral perspective for understanding sustainable school improvement and offer practical implications for strengthening leadership capacity in implementing the National Education Standards within Islamic educational institutions

Abstract

Improving Qur'anic literacy remains a major challenge for non-formal Islamic educational institutions, particularly in ensuring that students acquire not only accurate Qur'anic reading and writing skills but also sustained learning motivation and positive religious character. Although numerous studies have examined the effectiveness of Qur'anic learning methods, limited attention has been given to teachers' multidimensional pedagogical roles in strengthening students' Qur'anic literacy. This study aims to analyze the pedagogical roles of teachers in improving the quality of students' Qur'anic reading and writing at TPQ Al Muhajirin Karanglo Mojowarno Jombang, Indonesia. The research employed a qualitative case study design involving the head of TPQ, teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that students' Qur'anic literacy develops progressively through continuous guidance, repetitive practice, and individualized feedback. Teachers perform integrated pedagogical roles as educators, instructors, motivators, mentors, supervisors, facilitators, and role models, creating meaningful learning experiences that enhance students' reading and writing competencies. Furthermore, family support, institutional commitment, and students' learning motivation significantly influence the effectiveness of Qur'anic learning. This study proposes an Integrated Pedagogical Framework for Qur'anic Literacy Development, emphasizing that improving Qur'anic literacy is achieved through the interaction between teachers' pedagogical competence, students' engagement, and supportive educational ecosystems. The findings contribute to the development of Qur'anic education theory and provide practical implications for strengthening teacher professionalism in non-formal Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of SWOT analysis in enhancing school competitiveness in the era of globalization. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a library research design by systematically reviewing relevant scientific sources, including national and international journal articles, academic books, and educational policy documents. The findings indicate that SWOT analysis plays a strategic role in identifying internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) as well as external factors (opportunities and threats) that influence the performance and competitiveness of educational institutions. The implementation of SWOT functions not only as a planning tool but also as an adaptive managerial framework that responds to policy changes, technological advancements, and global demands. Strategies derived from the SWOT matrix (SO, WO, ST, WT) contribute to improving learning quality, strengthening human resource capacity, optimizing the use of digital technology, and enhancing institutional reputation within the community. However, this study also reveals that the application of SWOT remains largely conceptual and has not been fully contextualized at the school level. Therefore, a more operational, integrative, and data-driven approach is required for its effective implementation. This research contributes to the field of educational management by providing an applicable conceptual framework based on SWOT analysis

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the application of Islamic business ethics principles, particularly honesty and transparency, in e-commerce practices in the digital era. The research method employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA 2020 protocol to systematically identify and analyse relevant scholarly literature published between 2018 and 2025. The selection process yielded 28 articles, which were analysed using thematic analysis to identify key patterns and concepts related to digital business ethics. The findings reveal four main themes: digital gharar, information transparency, trustworthiness in digital transactions, and digital manipulation. The results indicate that honesty and transparent product information significantly contribute to building consumer trust and customer loyalty. At the same time, practices such as fake reviews and price manipulation remain ethical challenges in the e-commerce ecosystem. In conclusion, the implementation of Islamic business ethics principles plays a strategic role in strengthening consumer trust and supporting sustainable, fair, and transparent digital business practices

Abstract

This study is situated within the discipline of educational leadership, specifically focusing on the behavioural leadership perspective, which emphasises leaders’ observable actions in guiding and influencing their subordinates. The article aims to analyse how the behavioural leadership practices of the principal at MTS Salafiyah Syafiiyah Tebuireng Jombang contribute to improving teacher performance. Using a descriptive qualitative research design, data were collected through purposive sampling involving teachers as key informants, supported by non-participant observation and documentation study. Data analysis employed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, strengthened by source triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings reveal that the principal applies two core dimensions of behavioural leadership: task orientation and relationship orientation. Task orientation is reflected in structured instructions, systematic workflow arrangements, and consistent supervision of academic programmes, while relationship orientation appears in personal attention, open communication, and continuous moral support. These dimensions foster a supportive work climate, enhance teacher motivation, and strengthen professional commitment. These results underscore the significance of balanced behavioural leadership as an empirically grounded model for improving teacher performance and provide valuable insights for leadership development within Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of excellent service management at Al Mu’minien Modern Islamic Boarding School in Indramayu, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and explore strategies to improve the quality of educational services in Islamic educational institutions. This research employed a qualitative field research approach with a descriptive analytical design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, documentation, and literature review. The main informant of this study was the pesantren operator responsible for administrative services and student data management. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data triangulation was applied to ensure the credibility of the findings. The results show that the implementation of service management in the pesantren reflects the five dimensions of the SERVQUAL model: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. These dimensions are manifested in the availability of adequate facilities, structured educational programs, responsive communication with parents, transparent financial management, and personal guidance for students. The study also identifies several challenges related to limited digital infrastructure, variations in human resource competencies, and financial constraints. These findings indicate that improving service quality plays an important role in strengthening institutional credibility and increasing public trust in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Empathy and social attitudes are essential components in the social-emotional development of early childhood. However, the results of initial observations in Group A of ABA 1 Kindergarten, Madiun City showed that both aspects of these attitudes were still low, reflected in the lack of concern and cooperation of children. This study aims to describe the implementation and test the effectiveness of the storytelling method as a pedagogical intervention to improve these attitudes. The type of research used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) involving 14 children of Group A of ABA 1 Kindergarten, Madiun City as subjects. This study was conducted in two cycles (Cycle I and Cycle II). Data collection used observation and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively by calculating the percentage of average achievement of attitudes. The criteria for success of the action were determined if the average percentage reached the High category (minimum 70%). The achievement of empathy and social attitudes showed a significant increase. At the Pre-Cycle stage, the achievement of empathy was 44% and social attitudes 46% (Low Category). Following improvements in Cycle II, which emphasized children's active interaction in the story, achievement increased sharply, reaching 77% for empathy and 78% for social attitudes. These figures exceeded the established success criteria. The application of interactive and contextual storytelling has proven effective in improving empathy and social attitudes in Group A early childhood children at ABA 1 Kindergarten in Madiun City. This method is recommended for continued use in stimulating social-emotional development in early childhood education settings

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of correlation of the neoliberal paradigm in the management of Islamic educational institutions, particularly the relationship between the neoliberal paradigm, value orientation, and management practices. In contemporary educational management discourse, neoliberalism emphasizes the principles of efficiency, accountability, competition, and performance orientation, which have the potential to influence the governance of educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the neoliberal paradigm and value orientation and managerial practices at the Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School in West Bandung. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method using a questionnaire compiled based on research variable indicators. The research sample consisted of 35 respondents selected using probability sampling techniques. Data analysis was performed using SPSS through the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and the Spearman Rank nonparametric correlation test. The results showed that the neoliberal paradigm has a positive and significant relationship with value orientation (r = 0.401; Sig = 0.017), but has a weak and insignificant positive relationship with management practices (r = 0.308; Sig = 0.072). In addition, value orientation has a strong and significant relationship with management practices (r = 0.682; Sig = 0.000). These findings indicate that the influence of neoliberalism is selective, where Islamic educational values remain a dominant factor in the management practices of Islamic educational institutions
