Abstract

The teaching and learning process is not only influenced by teaching methods, but also by environmental factors, including temperature conditions. An interesting phenomenon is occurring at Jabal Nur School in Sempajaya Village, where students often exhibit hyperactive behavior during teaching and learning activities due to the village's location at the foot of a mountain. Students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) who are placed in that village have the opportunity to observe and assess this phenomenon, making their perceptions important to study. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects are KKN students assigned to Sempajaya Village. Data was collected thru observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results indicate that KKN students perceive the students of Jabal Nur as being more active, having difficulty focusing, and being restless during the learning process in the classroom. This hyperactive behavior is considered the body's response to warm itself up. Students also found that hyperactivity impacted the classroom atmosphere, making it less conducive, although there was individual variation in response levels to cold temperatures. The perception of KKN students indicates a relationship between cold temperatures and students' hyperactive behavior. This phenomenon aligns with the theory that environmental factors can influence learning behavior. Therefore, teachers and school authorities need to consider learning strategies and environmental adjustments so that students can still learn optimally even in low-temperature conditions.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology has brought humanity into a wave of modernization characterized by digitalization, leading to significant changes in all aspects of human life. The role of technology today offers various conveniences. The transformation of payment systems from cash-based to cashless transactions provides ease for customers and helps reduce the risk of crimes such as robbery, theft, and counterfeiting. One of the most widely used cashless payment methods that is frequently misused by irresponsible individuals for criminal purposes today is the credit card. The focus of this study is to examine the legal accountability of banking institutions in relation to a specific type of cybercrime, namely carding, which causes financial losses to customers. This research employs a normative juridical method. The findings indicate that the bank’s liability from a civil law perspective refers to Article 1338 paragraph (1) of the Indonesian Civil Code and Article 19 paragraph (1) of Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. Customer losses resulting from carding crimes are viewed as a consequence of inadequate protection by the issuing bank in maintaining network security. Errors or negligence by bank employees can be construed as the bank’s responsibility; however, if it can be proven that the carding crime did not occur due to the issuing bank’s negligence, then the bank is not obliged to compensate for the losses suffered by the customer.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of students’ interest and participation in Indonesian language learning, particularly in activities related to analyzing the intrinsic elements of short stories. The learning process tended to be monotonous and lacked the use of digital media that is relevant to students’ daily lives. The purpose of this research is to describe the learning activities involved in analyzing the intrinsic elements of short stories through the application of a scientific approach using Wattpad as a medium, as well as to examine its effectiveness in improving students’ analytical abilities. The research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach, utilizing a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population consisted of all eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sukagumiwang in the 2024/2025 academic year, with two classes selected as samples: class XI-9 as the experimental group (scientific approach + Wattpad) and class XI-8 as the control group (conventional discussion). Data collection techniques included observation and testing (pretest–posttest). The findings revealed that teacher and student activities in the experimental class were categorized as very good, with an average active participation rate of 78.8%. The mean posttest score of the experimental class (85.26) was higher than that of the control class (76.83). The t-test result showed tₕᵢₜ = 4.845 with a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05, indicating that the implementation of the scientific approach using Wattpad was effective in enhancing students’ ability to analyze the intrinsic elements of short stories

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the poor quality of education, which comes from the weak way educational supervision is carried out in schools. Supervision is very important because it helps, guides, and improves teachers' skills, making the learning process work well and smoothly. The goal of this study is to look at how supervision can help improve education quality by making teachers perform better and making learning more effective. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Information was gathered through detailed interviews, observations, and reviewing documents with school principals, teachers, and supervisors. The data was analyzed in three steps: reducing the data, presenting it, and drawing clear conclusions. The findings show that when supervision is planned, ongoing, and done together, it helps teachers get better at planning lessons, managing classes, and sharing results about student learning. The discussion shows that the success of supervision depends a lot on the supervisor's skills, good communication, and support from the school's environment. In conclusion, supervision is more than just watching over; it's also about helping teachers grow and improve. When supervision is done in a caring, involved way that focuses on what teachers need, it really helps make the school environment better and supports higher quality teaching.

Abstract

Semende Darat Ulu (SDU) District is a major center for robusta coffee production in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. However, this potential has not been fully utilized due to low post-harvest quality, price fluctuations, and the dominance of middlemen in the trade chain. This conceptual research aims to design a social capital-based coffee farmer capacity development model as a more sustainable alternative approach compared to conventional technical programs. Using a sociological approach, this research identifies and capitalizes on Semende's social networks, trust relationships, collective norms, and local customary values, including the Tunggu Tubang system, as the foundation for strengthening farmer capacity. The developed intervention model combines mentoring and participatory training to encourage collective behavioral change. The research results in a draft integrated implementation model titled "Shared Coffee Barn and Custom-Based Quality Control Unit," which integrates the strengthening of social norms, post-harvest technical standardization, and collective marketing schemes. The discussion shows that technical capacity building will only be effective and sustainable if it is linked to the strengthening of existing social institutions within the community. This model concludes that social capital plays a strategic role in strengthening farmers' bargaining power and promoting long-term welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the online community's perception of the use of machine learning (ML) in dynamic difficulty adjustment (DDA) through computational text analysis. The use of ML in DDA has become an important area in game design due to its ability to increase engagement and personalize the gaming experience, but it has sparked debate regarding the fairness and transparency of the system. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach by analyzing 3,016 comments from the Reddit and Steam communities using sentiment analysis, topic modeling, and word frequency analysis techniques. The sentiment analysis results show a dominance of positive sentiment (63.8%), followed by negative sentiment (20.9%) and neutral sentiment (15.0%). Topic analysis identified five main themes: Gameplay & Difficulty Adjustment, General Enjoyment & Perception, Narrative Experience & Balance, Combat Mechanics & Fairness, and Technical Reflection & Suggestion. Word frequency analysis showed the community's focus on the balance between challenge (difficulty) and enjoyment (fun) in the gaming experience. The research findings indicate that the online community positively accepts the application of ML in DDA, with the important notes of system transparency, fairness of mechanisms, and balance between technical challenges and players' emotional satisfaction. This research contributes to interdisciplinary studies between game studies, artificial intelligence, and computational social science, and serves as a reference for game developers in designing adaptive systems that are technically effective and accepted by players.

Abstract

The problem of acne (Acne vulgaris) is a common skin condition among adolescents and is generally triggered by the growth of Propionibacterium acnes. Various natural-based treatment alternatives have been developed to minimize the side effects associated with chemical agents. Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) pericarp and ciplukan (Physalis angulata L.) leaves are known to contain diverse secondary metabolites such as xanthones, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and triterpenoids, which have potential antibacterial properties. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of the combined extracts of mangosteen pericarp and ciplukan leaves against Propionibacterium acnes, as well as to develop the research findings into a poster design for the Innovation in Biological Technology learning material for Grade X SMA. The research employed an experimental method using 15 treatment variations of extract combinations. Antibacterial activity was tested using the disk diffusion method on Nutrient Agar medium. Observed parameters included extract yield, phytochemical screening, inhibition zone diameter, and macroscopic and microscopic observations of the test bacteria. The results revealed that both extracts tested positive for active antibacterial metabolites. The antibacterial activity of the extract combinations showed varying inhibition strengths, with several treatments categorized as weak to moderate. The best treatment, P9 (35% mangosteen extract + 35% ciplukan extract), produced a strong inhibition zone measuring 14.14 mm. These findings indicate that the combination of extracts exhibits a synergistic effect in inhibiting the growth of Propionibacterium acnes. The research findings were further developed into a poster design for the Innovation in Biological Technology material for Grade X SMA. Expert evaluations from media and material specialists indicated that the poster is feasible to use as an innovative, informative, and contextual learning medium. The combination of mangosteen pericarp and ciplukan leaf extracts has potential as a natural antibacterial agent for acne control.
