Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of a Tri Pramana–oriented experiential learning model rooted in Balinese Hindu epistemology in enhancing critical thinking skills among 250 fourth-grade students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). Using a post-test-only control group design, the intervention was implemented over six weeks in Bali, Indonesia, with experimental and control groups taught using culturally grounded experiential activities versus conventional instruction, respectively. Critical thinking was measured across five domains: identification, analysis, evaluation, inference, and communication. Data were analyzed using the Rasch measurement model via Winsteps software. Results showed high person reliability (0.80) and item reliability (0.95), with significant improvement in identification, analysis, and communication skills (mean logit = 0.49). However, evaluation and inference remained challenging for many students. The findings support the integration of culturally responsive, philosophy-based pedagogies in primary science education, while highlighting the need for targeted scaffolding in higher-order reasoning. Implications for curriculum developers and teachers include adapting local wisdom frameworks like Tri Pramana to foster 21st-century competencies through structured experiential tasks.

Abstract

University students frequently experience academic stress that may undermine emotional regulation and adaptive academic functioning. Academic resilience has been identified as a protective factor that enables students to cope effectively with academic challenges. This study examined the association between participation in an Islamic-integrated Mindfulness-Based Academic Resilience (MBAR) program and changes in academic resilience and emotional regulation among undergraduate students. A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design was employed involving 60 fourth-semester students from the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Enrekang. The experimental group participated in twelve structured sessions combining mindfulness practices with Islamic contemplative elements, while the control group received no intervention. Data were collected using validated self-report scales, observation sheets, and semi-structured interviews. Paired and independent samples t-tests were conducted to examine within- and between-group differences, and effect sizes were calculated. Results indicated statistically significant improvements in academic resilience and emotional regulation in the intervention group compared to the control group, with large effect sizes observed at posttest. Qualitative findings suggested increased emotional awareness, cognitive reframing, and perceived academic coping capacity among participants. However, given the quasi-experimental design, single-institution sample, and reliance on self-report measures, causal interpretations and generalizability should be approached cautiously. The findings provide contextually grounded empirical evidence regarding the short-term association between structured mindfulness practice and adaptive academic functioning within a faith-based Indonesian higher education setting

Abstract

This study explores the role of education in enhancing collaboration between state and non-state actors in combating human trafficking in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach and literature review, the research examines scholarly articles, policy documents, and reports published between 2010 and 2024, systematically selected from Scopus, Google Scholar, and JSTOR, based on their relevance to education, collaboration, and human trafficking. The analysis focuses on educational programs aimed at raising public awareness, strengthening law enforcement capacities, and fostering cooperation among stakeholders such as government agencies, NGOs, and civil society organizations. The findings reveal that education plays a crucial role in improving public understanding of human trafficking, enhancing law enforcement responses, and promoting collaboration. However, the review identifies contradictions regarding the sustainability and effectiveness of educational initiatives, particularly in marginalized communities, and the gap between awareness-raising and long-term institutional collaboration. These inconsistencies suggest that educational interventions are often fragmented and poorly integrated into broader anti-trafficking frameworks. The study concludes that while education is essential for prevention and intervention, it must be part of a coordinated anti-trafficking strategy, including stronger legal frameworks, victim protection, and policy reforms. Future research should focus on longitudinal evaluations and comparative analyses of law enforcement training models.

Abstract

Children with cerebral palsy (CP) often experience oromotor dysfunction, affecting feeding processes and nutritional status. This condition may impair physical development, learning readiness, and participation in educational environments. This study analyzes the relationship between oromotor function and nutritional status in children and adolescents with CP and explores its implications for counseling services and inclusive education. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 44 children and adolescents aged 2–20 years with CP in Jakarta. Oromotor function was assessed through clinical evaluation of feeding difficulties, including chewing, swallowing, and oral motor control, categorized as normal or oromotor dysfunction. Nutritional status was assessed using WHO z-scores for BMI-for-age and height-for-age. Chi-square tests and Odds Ratios (OR) were used for statistical analysis. Findings revealed that 36.4% of participants experienced oromotor dysfunction, with 68.1% classified at GMFCS levels III–V. Children with oromotor dysfunction had a significantly higher proportion of abnormal nutritional status (p < 0.05), with nearly four times the risk (OR = 3.9; 95% CI: 1.1–13.8). This study is limited by its cross-sectional design and small sample size. These findings emphasize the importance of collaboration among healthcare professionals, educators, and counselors to support the development and educational success of children with CP.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines knowledge management (KM) implementation in academic libraries by mapping technology enabled practices and identifying technological and organizational barriers that constrain adoption. Following PRISMA guided procedures, a Scopus based search (2015–2025) retrieved 118 records; after screening against predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, 11 full-text journal articles were included for narrative synthesis. Study quality and contribution were appraised using a relevance-based scoring scheme (1–10) aligned with the review focus (technology use, implementation detail, and barrier reporting). The synthesis indicates that academic libraries operationalize KM primarily through implementation of collaborative technologies, IoT, analytics and data-driven technologies and blockchain technology and digital security systems. Key barriers recur across contexts of infrastructure limitations, limited human resource capacity, limited managerial support and policies, knowledge hoarding, and standardization and technology interoperability. Reported impacts include improved knowledge sharing, stronger service effectiveness, and enhanced support for academic activities. This review consolidates technology categories and barrier mechanisms into an implementation-oriented synthesis and offers actionable implications for library leaders and policymakers to strengthen infrastructure readiness, interoperability planning, governance clarity, and workforce capability development for sustainable KM implementation.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of a STEM-based learning intervention on aviation cadets’ understanding of radiotelephony practices. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design involving 18 cadets in the experimental group (MBU 06 A), who received STEM-based learning through a radiotelephony simulation module, and 17 cadets in the control group (MBU 06 B), who received conventional instruction. Data analysis was conducted using an independent samples t-test after the assumptions of normality and homogeneity of variance were satisfied at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that post-test scores in the experimental group were significantly higher (M = 83.17, SD = 1.95) than those in the control group (M = 69.94, SD = 1.39), with a statistically significant difference (p < .05). These findings indicate that the integration of STEM-based learning and simulation activities can enhance the effectiveness of radiotelephony instruction and better prepare aviation cadets for operational communication tasks. The novelty of this study lies in the application of a STEM-based learning framework specifically to radiotelephony training within aviation education, an area that has received limited empirical attention. This research contributes evidence that STEM-based learning is an effective pedagogical strategy for developing practical radiotelephony competence and offers valuable implications for the improvement of aviation training curricula.

Abstract

This study examines the extent to which the Big Five personality traits influence auditor performance in the public sector, focusing on auditors of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK RI) Representative Office of West Java Province. A quantitative survey design was employed, involving 47 auditors selected through a census approach. Personality traits were measured using the IPIP-BFM-25 instrument, while auditor performance was assessed across five dimensions: audit quality, timeliness, professionalism, competence, and effectiveness of audit follow-up. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis to determine both partial and simultaneous effects. The results demonstrate that Conscientiousness (β = 0.653, p < 0.05), Extraversion (β = 0.987, p < 0.01), Agreeableness (β = 0.989, p < 0.01), and Openness to Experience have significant positive effects on auditor performance. In contrast, Neuroticism shows a significant negative effect (β = −1.359, p < 0.001). Simultaneously, the Big Five personality traits explain 67.8% of the variance in auditor performance, indicating a strong explanatory power of personality factors in predicting performance outcomes. These findings suggest that public sector audit institutions should integrate personality-based considerations into auditor recruitment, placement, and capacity development to improve audit effectiveness and accountability. This study adds empirical value by quantitatively linking personality psychology with public sector audit performance within the context of Indonesia’s supreme audit institution.

Abstract

The rapid integration of digital technologies in post-pandemic higher education has intensified the need for pedagogically grounded innovations in creative writing instruction. This study investigates the effectiveness of Wizer.Me-assisted process writing instruction in improving students’ pentigraph (short-short story) composition skills. Employing a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design, the study involved 64 undergraduate students divided into an experimental group (n = 32) and a control group (n = 32) over a four-week intervention period. The experimental group received structured process writing instruction supported by multimedia prompts and rubric-based feedback within Wizer.Me, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. Results revealed a substantial increase in the experimental group’s mean score from 49 (pretest) to 80 (posttest), compared to a more moderate improvement in the control group (50 to 60). The difference between groups was statistically significant, t(62) = 10.98, p < .001, with an exceptionally large effect size (Cohen’s d = 2.79). While the magnitude of improvement should be interpreted cautiously in relation to the assessment scale and contextual factors, the findings suggest that multimedia-supported digital scaffolding and rubric-mediated feedback can meaningfully enhance narrative coherence, idea development, and linguistic precision in short-form creative writing. This study contributes to the growing body of research on technology-enhanced language learning by demonstrating how interactive digital worksheets, when aligned with process writing pedagogy, can support creative writing development in higher education contexts.

Abstract

Drama script writing in higher education often emphasizes technical structure while underutilizing students’ cultural knowledge as a creative resource. Integrating local wisdom into writing instruction may strengthen both dramaturgical competence and cultural literacy. This study investigates the effectiveness of a local wisdom based learning model in improving drama script writing among language education students. A mixed methods approach using a sequential explanatory design was employed with 35 undergraduate students. Quantitative data were collected through document analysis, engagement observation, questionnaires, and pre and post script assessment. Qualitative data from interviews and script analysis were used to explain quantitative patterns. Instructional planning demonstrated substantial integration of local wisdom, and students showed high engagement during culturally grounded activities. Script scores improved significantly from a mean of 68 to 82, indicating measurable gains in conflict development, characterization, and structural coherence. Qualitative findings revealed that cultural values functioned as structural drivers of dramatic conflict rather than decorative themes. The findings suggest that structured integration of local wisdom can enhance drama writing competence while deepening students’ cultural literacy within a specific higher education context. The study contributes to culturally sustaining pedagogy by clarifying how local cultural knowledge may operate as a pedagogical resource in creative writing instruction.
