Abstract

Problem based learning is a learning model that focuses on students and is contextual in nature. Students are directly involved in finding a solution to a problem, so that the model is able to improve high-level thinking skills. The purpose of this study is to see the effect of the problem based learning model on high-level thinking skills of high school students. The research design applied was quasi experiment. The subjects in this study consisted of two classes namely class XI MIPA 4 as ekpeimmen class and XI Language as control class. The study was conducted at MAN Kota Batu in 2019. The data analysis used is the independent sample t-test which shows the effect that is proven by the significance of <0.05 that is 0,000 so that the two variables are declared influential.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the mistakes made by students in solving logarithmic inequality problems. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were high school students who had obtained logarithmic inequality material. Student errors are classified into conceptual errors, procedural errors, and computational errors. Based on data analysis conceptual errors that occur are errors using the logarithmic inequality properties, errors in the concept of defining logarithms, and errors in the use of logarithmic properties. Whereas procedural errors, namely errors in completing algebraic inequalities, errors in determining completion of definitions of logarithms, and errors determine the completion of the algebraic inequality system. The computational errors that occur are errors in performing operations counting numbers including errors in negative signs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi antara kualifikasi guru dan sarana prasarana terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran, pengaruhnya terhadap on the job training siswa dan soft skill siswa, dan OJT siswa terhadap soft skill siswa kelas industri di SMK Jawa Timur. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode survei dengan rancangan penelitian korelasional yang dikembangkan dengan model struktural. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 203 guru yang mengajar di kelas industri TBSM di 19 SMK Jawa Timur. Pengumpulan data di angket. Data dianalisis deskriptif dan structrual equation modeling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) ada kontribusi yang signifikan antara kualifikasi guru terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran kelas industri; (2) ada kontribusi yang signifikan antara sarana prasarana terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran kelas industri; (3) ada kontribusi yang signifikan antara kegiatan pembelajaran terhadap OJT siswa kelas industri; (4) ada kontribusi yang siginifikan antara kegiatan pembelajaran terhadap soft skill siswa kelas industri; (5) ada kontribusi yang signifikan antara OJT terhadap soft skill siswa kelas industri di SMK Jawa Timur.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of social skills and social studies learning outcomes of student using RoundTable and Carousel Feedback cooperative learning models. The method used classroom action research. The subjects of this study were fourth class students which amounted to 33 students at SD Negeri 3 Besuki. The result of this study obtained from observation, documentation, questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The results showed that RoundTable and Carousel Feedback cooperative learning models can improve social skills and social studies of student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to the mathematical communication of students who experience folding back when solving mathematical problems. The eight grade students of SMP Islam Syabilurrosyad Malang have participated here. Student with high communication going through folding back effectively and clearly following logic reasoning. Student with high communication could write folding back result rightly and consecutively. Student with medium communication going through folding back after intervention. Student with medium communication have communicated folding back result clearly and consecutively but still there were mistakes in the last solution.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a circulation system module based on hematological studies of T2DM rats. The module is developed based on the adaptation of the ADDIE developmental model. A module that has been developed then went through validation which is material aspect and teaching materials aspect. Practical tests were carried out by an expert in education practitioners and 10 students who had taken Animal Physiology and Humanities courses at the State University of Malang. The average results obtained from the validation of material experts is 95.8% and teaching material experts 91.4%. While the results of field practitioner expert trials amounted to 97, 9% and based on student responses an average of 90.3% are obtained. Based on these results the module can be said to be very valid and very practical to use in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe students' mathematical connection ability on cube material in solving incomplete problems in group discussion. The sample in this study were 3 groups that has high, medium, and low mathematical abilities. The results of this study was found that the students with high ability were able to understand all mathematical connection indicators, which were finding the connection between mathematical topics, finding the connection of mathematics to other knowledges, and finding the connection of mathematics to dayly life. The students with medium ability were able to understand the first and second indicators. The students with low ability were only able to understand one indicator which was finding the connection between mathematical topics.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analysed conceptual understanding and difficulties (misconceptions) of students in the kinetic theory of gases. Test consisted of 9 reasoned multiple choice questions administered after students study the material. From the results of the study, students get an average score of 7.1 from maximum score of 9. Students have mastered the concept of the relationship between ideal gas state quantities (pressure, volume, temperature) and kinetic energy of ideal gases. However, students still have difficulty in determining internal energy if the number of particles changing, the average speed of ideal gases, and the application of ideal gas law to the circulatory phenomena in the heart.

Abstract

Metacognitive skill is important to develop in students because they are role in form of students to be independent learners (self-regulated learner) as one who survives in the 21st century. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of application learning based Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) integrated Nature of Science (NOS) on improving students' metacognitive skills. The results of the research on the application of learning based IBL integrated NOS in experimental class proved to be able in improving the metacognitive skills of students comparing with the control class based on the significance value p (= 0,000) <α (0.05).

Abstract

This study investigated the students’ and teacher’s perception, as well as, the merits and demerits of implementing ProWritingAid and teacher feedback in class. The design of this study was a survey research directed in an exclusive classroom setting. Based on the data analysis, it was found that both teacher and students perceived the strategy positively as it can help the students detect, learn, and fix their errors through ProWritingAid and revise their content through teacher feedback. It also helped the teacher in saving time and reduce the teacher’s workload.
