Abstract

One of the most apparent changes due to COVID-19 pandemic was the increase in the utilization of online food delivery services. An in-depth analysis was needed to find the fundamental aspects behind this change that make online food delivery services an integral part of people’s lifestyles even after the pandemic. The research aimed to explore the determinants of customers’ intention to use GoFood (IU) by integrating the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to construct the research model. The research novelty was reflected through convenience motivation, which was crucial in enhancing the intention to use GoFood. This was achieved by exploring the interaction between the TAM and TPB. The underlying factors behind customers’ intention to use GoFood were defined by price-saving orientation (PSO) and timesaving orientation (TSO) with a mediating variable called convenience motivation (CM). Afterward, 252 valid questionnaires from respondents who live in Surabaya and Sidoarjo were collected using thesnowball sampling method and analyzed using the SEM-PLS method. The result reveals that PSO is the most significant factor behind the intention to use (IU). Meanwhile, TSO only indirectly affects IU, which means it will only be impactful when mediated by CM. Moreover, CM itself has a significant impact on IU.

Abstract

The research aimed to explore factors that could help schools enhance their innovation which is challenging due to their  institution nature. Three variables were investigated as the antecedents of innovations: entrepreneurial orientation, knowledge management, and organizational change readiness. In education, entrepreneurial orientation was gauged  through five dimensions: innovativeness, proactiveness, risk-taking, autonomy, and competitive aggressiveness. The knowledge management process involved three dimensions: knowledge creation, knowledge sharing, and knowledge utilization. The relationship between knowledge management variables was formative, as no single dimension fully captured the entire process; each contributes uniquely. Organizational change readiness dimensions included changing commitment and change efficacy. Dependent variable innovation was assessed through technical, administrative, and managerial innovation. The empirical research was quantitative by design, and data were collected from 110 private secondary schools across Indonesia. The research model was tested using partial least squares – structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with the extended repeated indicator approach. The research finds that entrepreneurial orientation does not directly affect innovation, but it is fully mediated by organizational change readiness. Additionally, while knowledge management has a significant direct effect on innovation, organizational change readiness partially mediates the relationship. The research also highlights the importance of organizational change readiness, which has rarely been discussed in entrepreneurial orientation and knowledge management literature.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic’s worsening economic conditions increased obstacles in tax revenue. The obstacles that arise during the tax collection process take the form of tax evasion and tax avoidance by citizens. The research aimed to empirically prove the impact of digital taxation, taxpayer knowledge, and tax incentive policies during the COVID-19 pandemic, with tax obstacles as the dependent variable. The comprehensive discussion of the relationship between all variables in the research is a novelty of previous studies, which were carried out partially. The research population comprised corporate taxpayers in Jakarta, with a sample of 50 corporate taxpayers selected as the respondents usingconvenience sampling techniques. The data analysis technique used was quantitative, utilizing PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Model). The research results indicate that implementing digital taxation and taxpayer knowledge significantly and negatively affect tax revenue obstacles. Moreover, tax incentive policies during the COVID-19 pandemic were a quasi-moderator variable that strengthens tax obstacles’ adverse and significant effects. The research implications highlighted the crucial role of digital taxation and taxpayer knowledge in mitigating obstacles to tax revenue. The findings suggest that effectively implementing digital taxation measures and enhancing taxpayer knowledge can significantly reduce tax evasion and avoidance hindrances.

Abstract

The research aimed to assess the impact of applying e-supply chain management (E-SCM) on service quality (SQ) and customer satisfaction (CS) in agricultural e-commerce. It was motivated by challenges in Indonesia that led to foodwaste due to lengthy supply chain, particularly evident in the horticulture category, such as vegetables. The inefficiencies along the chain resulted in substantial annual losses, ranging from IDR 213 to 551 trillion, equivalent to 4% - 5% of Indonesian GDP. Using associative investigation with three variables and 446 samples selected through simple random sampling, the research aimed to evaluate and enhance E-SCM performance in supply chain. The effective applicationof E-SCM offered benefits, including time and cost efficiency, work flexibility, and other conveniences. Not only this did benefit the company but also enhanced service quality and customer satisfaction. SEM-PLS was used with a reflective method, and data processing was facilitated by SMART-PLS 4 software. The results show a significant influence ofE-SCM application on service quality and customer satisfaction. Furthermore, service quality has a significant and direct impact on customer satisfaction. E-SCM influences customer satisfaction through both direct and indirect pathways, which are mediated by service quality variables.

Abstract

The research aimed to examine the effect of Flexible Working Arrangements (FWA) on subjective career success (SCS) with the mediation of coping mechanisms (social support, active coping, and identity awareness) among employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research investigated whether coping mechanisms can act as a mediator when a work policy supports their employees during uncertain times through working from home to improve long-term health and well-being. The research was conducted in the e-commerce companies in Jakarta with a convenience sample of 205 respondents. The analysis was conducted empirically using Macro Hayes to examine the mediating role of coping mechanisms on the relationship between FWA and SCS. The results indicate that FWA has a significant positive effect on coping mechanisms. Coping mechanisms (social support and active coping) have a significant positive effect on SCS, except for identity awareness. FWA does not have a direct effect on SCS. Moreover, coping mechanisms (social support and active coping) mediate the relationship between FWA and SCS, except for coping mechanism (identity awareness), which does not have a significant effect. The research emphasizes the importance of coping mechanisms, namely social support and active coping, and calls for future researchers to pay more attention to coping mechanisms as countermeasures during a pandemic-induced public health crisis.

Abstract

The development of an information system in the Research and Community Development Department in one of the private universities in Surabaya, which has already been developed since 2020, has not yet undergone an evaluation of user acceptance, specifically among the faculty. Furthermore, the satisfaction survey conducted has been too general so far, making it essential to evaluate the service quality of the information system provided. The research aimed to analyze user acceptance of X information system from the Research and Community Development Department. Additionally, it seeked to assess its service quality. The empirical research was quantitative by design, and data were collected from 228 faculty members. The research model was analyzed using PLS-SEM. The data analysis results indicate that all items used in the research are valid and reliable, with cross-loading values ranging from 0.837 to 0.980. Then, the Cronbach’s alpha values are greater than 0.6. It is found that out of six proposed hypotheses, four hypotheses are accepted and two hypotheses are rejected. The research finds that ease of use and usefulness influence intention to use, which increases usage behavior. The research also shows that service quality does not moderate the influence of perceived usefulness and ease of use on intention to use.

Abstract

Live shopping has evolved significantly as extensive publications have explored this phenomenon from the perspective of streamers and consumers. However, there is limited analysis from the human-computer interaction perspective, particularly concerning IT affordances. Therefore, the research aimed to enhance the understanding of human-computer interaction in live streaming sessions, exploring flow experiences and the influence on impulsive buying behavior, which led to postpurchase dissonance. The moderating role of perceived scarcity was also examined. The research adopted convenience sampling and obtained 250 online survey responses. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the hypotheses. The results show that three IT affordance components, visibility, metavoicing, and interactivity, foster flow experiences, but guidance shopping does not. Furthermore, flow experiences are found to stimulate impulsive buying behavior, which subsequently leads to post-purchase dissonance. The results further show a negative impact of perceived scarcity on buying behavior, while the effect of scarcity is  anticipated to enhance buying motivation. These results contribute to understanding the significant drivers of flow experiences in live shopping and the implications of perceived scarcity. Enhancing interactive communication between streamers and viewers is essential for businesses while promoting attractive visibility and comprehensive product information during live shopping sessions. Additionally, scarcity effects should be approached with caution only when  necessary to accelerate the call to action.

Abstract

Digitalization is essential in modern business organizations, where it transforms the operational framework and increases competitive advantage through the integration of advanced technologies. This transformation enables real-time data analysis, improves communication channels, and automates routine tasks, thereby driving innovation and efficiency that ultimately drives sustainable growth and success in a highly competitive market environment. The research observed the effect of digital leadership on team dynamics, communication effectiveness, and team performance. Data were collected by using a Likert scale questionnaire with 117 individual respondents across various business organizations in Yogyakarta and Banten, Indonesia. Then, the data obtained were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) in AMOS software. The results show that digital leadership has a significant effect on team dynamics and communication effectiveness. In addition, communication effectiveness has been proven to have a significantly positive effect on team performance. However, there is no direct relationship between team dynamics and performance. The results underscore the importance of strengthening digital leadership and communication effectiveness to improve team performance. Organizations should prioritize fostering a collaborative culture through digital platforms, effectively managing conflicts, and ensuring timely communication. Digital leadership should promote a participatory culture, handle conflicts adeptly, and maintain teams motivated through an effective digital approach. Lastly, organizations must provide effective digital communication tools and ensure team members understand how to use them.

Abstract

The steel industry plays a crucial role in national development. Major global steel producers such as the United States, Russia, and Japan have seen declines due to the rise of China as a dominant steel producer. Integrated Steel Corporation (ISC) in Indonesia has also faced declining performance, with its market capitalization dropping by 68.9% over the past eight years. The research primarily aimed to analyze customer preferences in the maintenance industry and determine positioning strategies. Additionally, it sought to identify the factors driving the formation of the Strategic Maintenance Services (SMS) spin-off from ISC and propose strategies for SMS to achieve a competitive advantage. Data were collected qualitatively through interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with customers to understand their perspectives, SMS management to grasp core business competencies and strategy, and ISC management to understand the parenting strategy. The results show several internal dynamics within ISC drove the formation of the SMS spin-off: 1) the transformation of the parent company; 2) short circuit incident at the main ISC factory; and 3) the cost burden of maintenance support. External factors indicate rapid industrial growth and the company's strengthening as a group after experiencing losses for almost a decade. The proposed strategy for SMS involves leveraging ISC’s subsidiaries and joint venture companies for centralized service maintenance. SMS aims to offer customized one-stop maintenance solutions with high quality at competitive prices by enabling Digital Maintenance Information (DMI). The target markets include large industries in steel manufacturing, petrochemicals, flour mills, cement, and logistics.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to shut down their operations and shift to digital platforms to survive and ensure their business continues. Hence, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have undergone an accelerated digital transformation to adopt technological innovations. The research aimed to identify the factors that encouraged and hindered digital innovation in MSMEs during economic destabilization, focusing on the perspectives of young entrepreneurs in Makassar City. Qualitative methods were used, involving in-depth interviews with 25 young entrepreneurs in Makassar City to explore the positive and negative impacts of transitioning to digital platforms post-pandemic. Data analysis was conducted using the inductive content analysis method. The results show that digital innovation in MSMEs after the pandemic is influenced by external factors (market and demand restrictions) and internal factors (personal and professional development). The limited financing, technology, and management of MSMEs compared to large enterprises make them more vulnerable to post-pandemic bankruptcy. Barriers faced in running businesses post-pandemic include market challenges on digital platforms, the need for necessary skills, and infrastructure availability. The implications of these findings are expected to develop programs that support young entrepreneurs and provide recommendations for the government in formulating policies and strategies to encourage digital entrepreneurship, especially in developing countries after the current pandemic.
