Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of using an interasolve-book as a learning medium in improving learning independence and problem-solving skills in elementary school students. Interasolve-book is an interactive book designed to stimulate students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills through engaging and relevant activities. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The research subjects consisted of grade V students at SDN Handayani and SDN Rancabakti, which were used as an experimental group using an interasolve-book and a control group using conventional textbooks. A questionnaire measures learning independence, while a test measures problem-solving ability. The results show that using an interasolve-book significantly improves students' learning independence and problem-solving ability compared to conventional textbooks. This can be seen from the average score of students' learning independence and problem-solving ability in the experimental group, which was higher than that of the control group. The conclusion is that an interasolve-book can be an effective alternative learning medium to improve elementary school students learning independence and problem-solving skills. The implication of this study is the need for the development and application of interasolve-book in learning in elementary schools to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

The study analyzes considerations and directions in choosing the best learning model and media to help students understand the subject. They can complete it based on the characteristics of students so that students can be directly involved during the implementation of learning. A teacher must be able to apply a teaching method appropriate to his pupil's condition because characteristics are unique properties inherent in a person or an object. Each child has different learning characteristics and abilities, so to make learning enjoyable and engaging, it should be relevant to students' daily lives and supported by interactive multimedia. The research method employed was qualitative-descriptive. Meanwhile, the research data was collected through interviews and questionnaires with the students. Research was carried out at three elementary schools in Padang City with 60 subjects. Based on the study identified characteristics of students, among them, students enjoy playing (96.7%), enjoy working with groups (83.3%), engaged in learning activities using interactive multimedia (81.13%), and experienced direct involvement (80%) in the practice or use of such multimedia that arouses student interest in the learning material. Thus, based on the characteristics of elementary school students, contextual learning models aided by multimedia interactive support were implemented to help the learning process.

Abstract

This study is motivated by low student engagement and learning outcomes. The poor learning outcomes are attributed to a lack of enthusiasm and motivation to participate in the learning process. Furthermore, students' comprehension of the material tends to be slow and superficial, primarily due to inadequate understanding of concepts and the continued reliance on traditional lecture-based teaching methods. This study implements the PENTAS learning model, which integrates problem-based learning, example non-example, and the talking stick method. This study analyses teacher activities, student learning activities, and outcomes. This research employs a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR). The findings indicate a significant improvement in teacher activity, with scores increasing from 16 in the first session to 32 in the fourth session. Similarly, student engagement improved from 41% in the first session to 100% in the fourth session. Additionally, student learning outcomes achieved 100% mastery in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the PENTAS learning model effectively enhances teacher activity, student engagement, and overall student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The initial reading and writing learning, early reading and writing (MMP) learning, is essential for primary students, including grade 1 students at SDN Mlaten 1. MMP's ability needs to be mastered so that students can absorb the material taught by the teacher and provide preparation for the next grade level. The low ability of grade 1 students at SDN Mlaten 1 to read and write at the beginning can be influenced by various factors, including internal and external factors. This research analyses the factors that influence initial reading and writing (MMP) learning for grade 1 students at SDN Mlaten 1. This research was conducted at SDN Mlaten 1 in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, from February 21 - March 1, 2023. A 1st-grade teacher and 29 grade 1 students were the subjects of this research. This study collects data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Intellectual ability, enthusiasm, and willingness to study all impact pupils' early reading and writing skills. Aside from this, other elements such as the teacher's ability to teach, learning media, and parents' attentiveness to their children also influence kids' reading skills.

Abstract

Decrease in Indonesia's PISA scores in 2015, 2018 and 2022. Creative competence can be improved through creative writing skills. This research aims to develop and test the feasibility of pop-up book media with augmented reality features in improving elementary school students' creative writing skills. The subject of this research is the assessment of media and material practitioners. The method used is the ADDIE model. The data collection techniques are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and scoring. The assessment instrument is a validation sheet from media and material experts. Using quantitative data analysis techniques. The results of the validation and assessment of media and material practitioners obtained a score from media experts of 70% in the appropriate category and from material experts of 85% in the very appropriate category. Thus, it can be concluded that pop-up book media with augmented reality features is very suitable as an alternative solution to support the creative writing skills of elementary school students. Future researchers should be able to use the results of this research as a basis for testing the effectiveness of the augmented reality pop-up book media feature in improving elementary school students' creative writing abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe fourth-grade elementary school students' reading interest and reading comprehension ability through the Question Answer Relationship (QAR) strategy. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample was fourth-grade students at SD Inpres Bontoala I Gowa, totaling 60 students. Data on reading interest was collected through a questionnaire technique, and reading comprehension ability was assessed using a test technique. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential analysis techniques consisting of independent sample t-tests and Manova tests. The results showed an increase in students' average reading interest and reading comprehension ability through the QAR strategy, so it can be concluded that the QAR strategy can increase the reading interest and reading comprehension ability of fourth-grade students of SD Inpres Bontoala I Gowa.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education opens up excellent opportunities to produce larger, flexible, and adaptive learning. Technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and blockchain allow a learning process more tailored to students' needs and abilities. This approach provides a relevant and interactive learning experience and supports the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Indonesia, which prioritizes flexibility and innovation in teaching. This research explores the potential and challenges of a technology-based curriculum. The results show that this technology effectively improves learning outcomes, but obstacles exist, such as limited infrastructure, lack of training for educators, and student data privacy issues. The synergy between the government, educational institutions, and the private sector is needed. Providing adequate infrastructure, continuous teacher training, and supportive policies will be the key to successfully implementing a technology-based curriculum. If used properly, this technology can make education systems more relevant, inclusive, and ready for future needs.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop hypnoteaching-based learning media to enhance fifth-grade students' learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS – a subject that integrates natural and social science content in the Indonesian elementary curriculum) using the ADDIE model. Conducted in a public elementary school in Central Java, the study employed expert validation, observation, student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired-sample t-tests. Results showed excellent validity (average expert rating = 4.7) and a significant improvement in scores from the pre-test (60.00) to the post-test (70.26), with an N-Gain of 0.26, categorised as low based on Hake's criteria. The media received a positive response from students (average satisfaction score = 4.2). Despite the low N-Gain, the hypnoteaching-based media proved to be a practical and engaging tool. Future integration with broader educational technologies is recommended.
