Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of teacher services by education personnel at SMP Negeri 36 Makassar, as well as identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with informants consisting of principals, teachers, and administrative staff. The data analysis applied the Miles and Huberman models, while the validity of the data was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study show that teacher service management includes three main aspects: attendance management, school Service Management, Teacher Services, Education Personnel.administration services, and lesson schedule preparation, which is implemented through planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating functions. The main supporting factors include the commitment of the principal, collaboration between staff, and the adequacy of infrastructure. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are the limited quantity of staff, lack of training, the absence of standard Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the operational system that is still manual. This study concludes that transformation towards digital-based management and strengthening the competence of human resources is indispensable to increase the effectiveness of education services.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of double-loop learning within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia, examining how these traditional educational institutions engage in organizational reflection and transformation while preserving their foundational Islamic values. Employing a qualitative multiple case study design, the research was conducted across three pesantren in Jakarta-Bogor   representing traditional (salafi), modern (khalafi), and integrated typologies through semi-structured interviews with 24 key informants including school leaders (kiai), senior teachers (ustadz), administrative managers, and alumni board members, supplemented by document analysis and non-participant observation over six months. Findings reveal that pesantren engage in double-loop learning through three interconnected mechanisms: (1) values-based reflective governance (muraja’ah tarbawiyyah), where institutional leaders systematically interrogate underlying assumptions of educational policies through consultative deliberation (musyawarah); (2) adaptive curriculum transformation, wherein pesantren reconcile classical Islamic scholarship (turath) with contemporary pedagogical demands without compromising doctrinal integrity; and (3) distributed leadership networks that enable bottom-up feedback loops from teachers and students to institutional decision-makers.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective "Samudra Tajwid" game media to bridge the gap between theoretical understanding and the practical ability of students in identifying the laws of tajweed reading. Using the development research method with the ADDIE model, this research was carried out at the Wustha Zainul Hasan Genggog Formal Early Education (PDF), Probolinggo, with 15 Wustha class II students who were selected purposively. Data were collected through structured interviews, Likert scale questionnaires, and documentation, which were then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. The results of the study showed that Samudra Tajwid media met the very high academic eligibility criteria based on the assessment of media experts (92.8%), material experts (94.4%), and linguists (93.7%). The level of media practicality is also in the very practical category according to the responses of educators (95%) and students (91.6%). The impact of implementation in the classroom proves the effectiveness of media with an increase in affective, social, and the highest improvement in the cognitive domain. The conclusion of this research confirms that the integration of educational-creative elements is able to reform the monotonous conventional classroom atmosphere into a dynamic student-centered learning ecosystem through a peer tutoring mechanism. The practical implications of these findings show that the methodological renewal of tajweed teaching in Islamic boarding schools can be optimally accelerated without having to remove the substance of the local book curriculum, but by reconstructing learning media that is adaptive to the psychosocial characteristics of adolescents

Abstract

This study aims to examine psycho-spiritual coping mechanisms in fostering resilience among students of Islamic Education (PAI) in managing academic stress. The study addresses the growing concern of academic pressure, which affects not only students’ psychological well-being but also their spiritual equilibrium. A qualitative approach with an interpretive phenomenological design was employed to capture the lived experiences of participants. The study involved 8 PAI students from Institut Darul Falah Cermee Bondowoso and Universitas Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings indicate that students tend to interpret academic stress as a form of spiritual trial and respond by engaging in religious practices such as prayer, dhikr, and reflective contemplation, which contribute significantly to the development of resilience. Furthermore, the socio-religious campus environment plays a crucial role in reinforcing these coping strategies. This study concludes that psycho-spiritual coping is both integrative and context-dependent, offering a meaningful contribution to the discourse of Islamic educational psychology from a phenomenological perspective. The findings underscore the importance of integrating spiritual-based approaches into student mental health services in Islamic higher education settings

Abstract

This study was motivated by the presence of students who experienced difficulties in developing self-efficacy at SMP Negeri 2 Pattallassang. Low self-efficacy was indicated by students’ doubts about their abilities, lack of confidence in learning activities, and tendency to give up easily when facing academic tasks. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of narrative counseling in improving students’ self-efficacy. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 14 students selected through proportional random sampling and divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected using a self-efficacy scale, observation, and interviews. The treatment was carried out through narrative counseling in the form of group counseling sessions. The results showed that narrative counseling was effective in improving students’ self-efficacy. After the treatment, students in the experimental group demonstrated increased self-confidence, courage in facing challenges, and persistence in completing tasks. Therefore, narrative counseling can be used as an alternative guidance and counseling service to improve students’ self-efficacy in schools

Abstract

Tantangan pendidikan tinggi di masa depan adalah mempersiapkan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas sesuai dengan tuntutan dan kebutuhan pembangunan. Pendidikan tinggi dituntut memaksimalkan penerapan prinsip kesepadanan (match), sehingga produknya sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan perkembangan yang terjadi dalam masyarakat yang senantiasa berubah dengan cepat. Salah satu upaya menciptakan pendidikan tinggi yang berkualitas di Indonesia, yaitu dengan menerapkan Manajemen Mutu Terpadu (MMT) sebagai suatu alternatif yang patut dipertimbangkan. Untuk itu perlu diadakan pengkajian khusus mengenai faktor-faktor internal yang telah dimiliki. Pengkajian ini dimaksudkan untuk menilai faktor-faktor atau kondisi yang sangat penting untuk mengoptimalkan faktor kemampuan atau kondisi yang sudah dimiliki dan pengadaan atau penciptaan faktor-faktor atau kondisi yang belum dimiliki. Sehingga dengan demikian dapat ditetapkan suatu strategi yang tepat dalam penerapan Manajemen Mutu Terpadu (MMT) pada IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Arabic Drama Contest Antar Rayon as an experiential approach in Arabic curriculum development at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 1. Using a qualitative educational ethnography approach, this research explores how drama-based activities contribute to communicative competence, hidden curriculum, and curriculum implementation within the pesantren educational environment. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving Arabic teachers, drama supervisors, student organizers, and student participants. The findings reveal that the Arabic Drama Contest functions as an authentic communicative learning environment that strengthens students’ speaking fluency, confidence, vocabulary mastery, creativity, and collaborative interaction. The activity also serves as a hidden curriculum transmitting values of discipline, leadership, responsibility, and teamwork through participatory educational practices. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that curriculum development in pesantren extends beyond formal classroom instruction into cultural performances and student organizational activities integrated within the bi’ah lughawiyyah. The study concludes that drama-based experiential learning provides an innovative and holistic model for Arabic curriculum development in Islamic boarding schools by integrating linguistic competence, character formation, and cultural participation into a unified educational ecosystem.

Abstract

Learning motivation is an essential factor influencing students’ engagement in mathematics learning. This study aims to analyze the level of mathematics learning motivation among students at MTsT Al Ishlah Gorontalo. The research employed a quantitative survey approach. The population consisted of 70 students, with a sample of 58 students from grades VII, VIII, and IX selected using a total sampling method. The instrument used was a mathematics learning motivation scale based on six indicators adapted from Uno, measured with a Likert scale (1–5). Data were analyzed descriptively to identify the distribution of students’ motivation levels. The findings revealed that no students were categorized as very low or low. A total of 19% of students fell into the moderate category, 72.4% into the high category, and 8.6% into the very high category. These results indicate that the majority of students possess strong motivation in learning mathematics, which serves as an essential asset in enhancing academic engagement. However, students in the moderate category require greater attention through creative, interactive, and contextual teaching strategies. In conclusion, students’ mathematics learning motivation at MTsT Al Ishlah Gorontalo is generally in the good to perfect category. Yet, continuous intervention is needed to maintain and further improve students’ motivation.
