Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the relevance of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the modern lives of students at Bandung Tourism High School. In the era of globalization and technological advancement, the younger generation faces significant challenges in maintaining religious values ​​amidst the currents of modernization, especially in a tourism education environment that is open to cultural and lifestyle diversity. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. This approach was chosen because it is appropriate for exploring and understanding the meaning, experiences, and interpretations of informants regarding the application of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the context of modern life in a tourism-based high school environment. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of PAI teachers, students, and school officials. The results of the study indicate that PAI teachers have a contextual understanding of the challenges of modern life. Teachers not only teach PAI normatively, but also align the material with contemporary issues relevant to the students' world, such as technology, adolescent lifestyles, and ethics in the tourism workplace. This builds students' understanding that Islamic teachings remain relevant and necessary in facing the challenges of the modern era. Students respond positively to the application of Islamic values ​​in the context of modern life. Most students found it helpful to understand religious values ​​through a contextual approach. They stated that Islamic Religious Education is not just a theory, but a guide to life

Abstract

Evaluation of education and learning is a crucial element in the educational process that aims to ensure the achievement of predetermined educational goals. Evaluation not only serves to measure learners' learning outcomes but also to identify strengths and weaknesses in the learning process and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement. In this theoretical review, the author will review various perspectives and theories related to the importance of evaluation in education and learning. The review covers the definition, purpose, and types of evaluation, as well as methods and techniques that can be used to conduct effective evaluation. It also highlights the challenges and solutions in the implementation of educational evaluation across different levels and contexts of education. Through a comprehensive understanding of the urgency of evaluation, it is hoped that educators and policymakers can design and implement more effective evaluation strategies to improve the overall quality of education.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the integration of Islamic ethics in value-based strategic management as a holistic approach in educational strategic planning. The main problem raised is the lack of application of Islamic values in education management, which has an impact on the less than optimal achievement of Islamic education goals. This research uses the literature study method by analysing relevant literature, theories and concepts. The results show that the integration of Islamic values, such as trustworthiness, justice, ihsan and deliberation, provides an effective framework to improve efficiency, accountability and sustainability in education management. This approach not only addresses the challenges of modernization, but also maintains the spiritual identity of Islamic educational institutions. The findings are expected to serve as a practical guide for educational institutions, researchers, and policy makers in managing value-based education.

Abstract

Manajemen pendidikan mengacu pada serangkaian proses yang sistematis dan terstruktur, mulai dari perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, hingga evaluasi seluruh kegiatan dalam lembaga pendidikan. Dalam rangka menjaga kualitas pendidikan Islam dan mengatasi tantangan-tantangan tersebut, penting bagi para pemangku kepentingan pendidikan, seperti pengelola lembaga pendidikan, guru, dan masyarakat, untuk memahami dan menerapkan manajemen pendidikan Islam secara tepat. diabaikan dalam konteks pengelolaan SDM pendidikan. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi prinsip-prinsip utama dalam penerapan manajemen Islam dalam lembaga pendidikan dan menganalisis konsep dan defenisi manajemen pendidikan islam. Metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif merupakan jenis, desain, atau rancangan penelitian yang biasa digunakan untuk meneliti objek penelitian yang alamiah atau dalam kondisi riil dan tidak disetting seperti pada eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Manajemen pendidikan Islam, dengan fokus pada pengelolaan yang Islami, memiliki potensi besar untuk berkontribusi dalam membangun peradaban umat yang berkeadilan, sejahtera, dan berdaya saing global.upaya berkelanjutan dari seluruh pemangku kepentingan pendidikan untuk terus meningkatkan kualitas manajemen pendidikan Islam agar dapat menjawab tantangan zaman, sekaligus menjaga relevansi dan kedalaman nilai-nilai agama dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) utilization in learning among students from diverse backgrounds, involving two subject groups: 15 Indonesian students analyzed through their academic assignments and 70 international students from Indonesia, China, Malaysia, and Tunisia surveyed via questionnaire. Task analysis employed an AI checker to measure AI’s contribution, while the questionnaire assessed students’ perceptions of AI’s impact. Results indicate that students in both high AI use (>60%) and low AI use (<60%) groups consistently achieved high academic grades (A and A-). The average scores for learning effectiveness across all countries were in the high category (Indonesia 3.03, China 3.05, Malaysia 3.16, Tunisia 3.01). However, there were signs of declining critical thinking skills, with scores ranging from 2.3 to 2.68. These findings underscore the need for balanced policies in AI adoption to enhance both learning quality and students’ critical thinking competencies, ensuring that technological advancement supports, rather than diminishes, essential academic skills.Keywords: Artificial intelligence, learning effectiveness, critical thinking, cognitive offloading, higher education

Abstract

This research aims to develop and implement digital-based interactive media that can improve the gross motor skills of early childhood in Marisa District Kindergarten. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a mix-method approach, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research stages include needs analysis, media design, validation by experts, limited trials, and field trials. The research subjects consisted of teachers and kindergarten children involved in the media implementation process. The results of the study show that the interactive media developed is very feasible to use, based on the validation of media and PAUD experts with a feasibility score of more than 85%. Field trials showed a significant improvement in children's gross motor skills, from pretest results to posttest, with a significance value (p) < 0.05. Qualitatively, children look more active, enthusiastic, and motivated during the learning process. This media also received a positive response from teachers because it was easy to use and able to create an interesting learning atmosphere. In conclusion, this digital interactive media is effective in improving early childhood gross motor and can be used as an innovative alternative in technology-based learning in early childhood education.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an early assessment instrument that can be used to improve differentiated learning outcomes in early childhood, especially the age group of 5-6 years old in PAUD Dengilo District. The method used is research and development (R&D) with a mix-method approach, which combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research procedure includes needs analysis, product development, expert validation, limited trials, revisions, and extensive trials. Qualitative data was obtained through observation and interviews, while quantitative data was obtained from the results of pretest and posttest children's learning outcomes. The results of the study showed that the initial assessment instruments developed were valid (validity score of 92%), practical, and effective in identifying children's early abilities. After the application of the instrument in differentiated learning, there was a significant improvement in children's learning outcomes, which was shown by an increase in the average score from 67.8 to 83.2. The t-test showed a significance value of p < 0.05, which indicates a statistically significant difference. Thus, this initial assessment instrument can be used as a strategic tool for PAUD teachers in designing learning that suits the needs and potential of each child.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of Islamic education in fostering child inmates at the Mamuju Class II Special Children's Development Institution (LPKA). Sentenced children still have the right to education, including spiritual and moral guidance that can shape their character for the better. In this context, Islamic education plays a strategic approach in fostering the fostered children's beliefs, worship, and morals. This study aims to describe the form of coaching of faith, worship, and morals in LPKA Class II Mamuju and identify the inhibiting and supporting factors that affect the sustainability of coaching. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with field research. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models. The study results show that coaching is carried out through activities such as learning the pillars of faith, congregational prayers, dhikr, religious lectures, BTQ, tahfidzul Qur'an, habituating manners, and responsibility. The main obstacles faced include limited human resources, facilities, budget, and the psychological condition of children. However, collaboration with external institutions and children's motivation are significant supporting factors. In conclusion, coaching at LPKA Mamuju makes a real contribution to shaping the character of child inmates through Islamic education. This research makes a theoretical and practical contribution to developing a more humanist and integrated coaching model in the future.

Abstract

The declining religious character among students today is a concern that calls for serious attention from educational institutions. Teachers of Islamic Religious Education and Character Development (PAI and BP) are expected not only to deliver subject content but also to become role models with strong spiritual awareness and leadership. Unfortunately, these two essential competencies are still not fully reflected in daily school practices. This study aims to examine how the spiritual competence and leadership competence of PAI and BP teachers influence the religious culture of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Takalar. A quantitative approach was employed using an ex post facto design. Data were gathered through Likert-scale questionnaires and documentation from 171 student respondents and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including simple and multiple linear regression. Findings reveal that both the spiritual and leadership competencies of teachers are perceived as low by the majority of students. Likewise, the students' religious culture is also categorized as low. Statistically, spiritual competence contributes 23.2%, leadership competence 32.5%, and both combined contribute 34.5% to students' religious culture. The study concludes that teachers play a vital role in shaping students' religious character. Therefore, strategic efforts are needed to strengthen these competencies through teacher training and school-based development programs.

Abstract

Collaboration skills as part of the urgency of learning in the 21st century have a crucial position for elementary school students. The discourse on increasing research in the field of education is not in line with the lack of research that discusses students' collaboration skills to participate in groups comprehensively. This study aims to fill this gap by exploring the initial condition of collaboration skills of 126 grade IV students in three elementary schools in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta in depth. The researcher detailed the results of the case study analysis on students' collaboration skills in elementary school. One hundred and twenty-six grade IV students in three elementary schools in Sleman district were selected for observation. Semi-structured observations, semi-structured interviews, and several documents are present as instruments to collect data on initial conditions related to students' collaboration skills. The results show the need to develop students' collaboration skills through learning media innovations that are oriented to the characteristics of diverse student learning styles. This study has implications for the importance of improving students' collaboration skills in science learning in the curriculum through learning media innovations that are tailored to the needs of students' learning styles and can provide independent learning guidelines for students in preparing themselves to face the demands of 21st century skills.
