Abstract

This study stems from recognising the importance of character education rooted in local culture as a moral safeguard for the younger generation amid globalisation. In Pada Raya Makmur Village, Wakatobi, the traditions of Ndou-Ndou Mansuana (religious counsel) and Homali’a (customary prohibitions) serve not merely as oral heritage, but as active media for internalising moral and religious values in children’s daily lives. This research deeply explores the internalisation process of these Islam-infused traditions in shaping children’s moral character. Employing a qualitative ethnographic design, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving children, parents, customary leaders, and religious figures. Thematic analysis revealed three main themes: the forms and practices of local culture; the moral and religious values (honesty, responsibility, respect, social solidarity, and religious devotion); and a staged internalisation process through introduction, understanding, acceptance, and habituation. Findings show that integrating Ndou-Ndou Mansuana and Homali’a forms a dual-value education model: constructive counsel fostering moral awareness, and preventive prohibitions reinforcing self-control. This study expands the local wisdom-based character education theory and offers practical contributions to education policy, cultural preservation, and community-based parenting strategies. Integrating culture and religion proves effective in preserving tradition while fostering resilient and adaptive moral character in facing contemporary challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Application of Audio Visual Media in Increasing Interest in Memorising Al-Quran Surah An-Nasr to Surah An-Nas. By using a qualitative approach with a case study, this research involves teachers and students as the main subjects. The data taken in the form of interviews, as well as direct observation at school, and documentation which was then analysed thematically. The result of this study is that audio visual media can increase the interest in memorising the Qur'an from Surah An-Nasr to Surah An-Nas. However, internal and external obstacles such as limited teacher skills in utilising the media.

Abstract

This research identifies the gap between conventional teaching methods applied by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in class XI at SMAN 6 Karawang and the demands of modern learning that emphasize student engagement. The purpose of the research is to determine and analyze the effectiveness of the Make a Match method in improving students' understanding and activity in PAI learning, as well as comparing the differences with traditional teaching methods. A qualitative research approach was used, with data collection through direct observation of the learning process to record student-teacher interactions and group dynamics, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of documentation such as lesson plans and class notes. The research results show that the application of the Make a Match method in class X resulted in significant improvements, where students appeared more active, engaged, and enthusiastic compared to class XI, which used conventional methods. These findings confirm that the selection of innovative learning methods that suit student characteristics greatly influences the effectiveness of PAI learning. Based on these results, this research recommends that teachers implement interactive methods like Make a Match to optimize the quality of the teaching and learning process at the high school level.

Abstract

Abstract Leadership is a fundamental factor in determining the success of educational institutions, particularly in creating a productive, harmonious, and quality-oriented work environment. In the context of modern educational management, leadership effectiveness is not only determined by intellectual intelligence but also by the ability to manage and express emotions positively, known as emotional intelligence. This study aims to describe the concept of emotional leadership in educational management, analyze the role of leaders’ emotional intelligence in motivating teachers and students, and examine the Islamic perspective on emotional leadership as a model grounded in moral and spiritual values. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 42 Talang Ubi, Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency, using a qualitative approach through library research and descriptive analysis of relevant empirical and conceptual sources. The findings reveal that emotional intelligence–based leadership significantly influences teachers’ motivation, loyalty, and professionalism, while fostering a conducive, harmonious, and humanistic school climate. From the Islamic perspective, emotional leadership aligns with the exemplary leadership of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who demonstrated a balance of gentleness, empathy, and moral firmness. This principle remains relevant in the modern educational era, which demands the integration of emotional intelligence and spirituality in leadership. Therefore, emotional intelligence–based leadership is not only a managerial necessity but also a manifestation of Islamic ethical and moral values in building a character-based educational culture. Abstract

This research was conducted to find out how counseling guidance services can develop the intelligence of Bandung Tourism High School students. The object of the research is grade XI students of Bandung Tourism High School. The type of research used in this study is field research or field research which is qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques with interviews, observations and documentation. The data collection technique consists of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the paradigm of BK services at Tourism High School has shifted towards development and prevention, no longer just curative. BK teachers position themselves as facilitators of students' personal growth, who accompanies not only when students have problems, but from the beginning of the educational process, The implementation of BK services in the school is based on philosophical, psychological, pedagogical and sociological aspects. The development of student intelligence through BK services is carried out in the field of developing intellectual intelligence, fostered through tutoring and achievement monitoring. Emotional and social intelligence is developed through counseling and group activities such as mentoring. Spiritual intelligence is strengthened through moral development programs and Islamic guidance that synergize with PAI teachers. This approach supports Gardner's idea of a compound intelligence, and also affirms the role of Islamic education in shaping human beings. Although it has been running quite effectively, there are still challenges such as limited counseling room facilities and the need to increase the professional capacity of BK teachers, especially in the use of technology and strengthening Islamic values-based approaches.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an influence of the family environment on the assessment of Islamic Religious Education learning outcomes in Class X Hospitality Students of State Vocational High School 2 Karawang. This type of research uses quantitative descriptive research. The object of this study is Class X Hospitality Students of State Vocational High School 2 Karawang. The population in this study was 70 students. Regarding data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. Based on the data analysis that has been done, it is known that the family environment influences learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education learning in Class X Hospitality Students of State Vocational High School 2 Karawang. It is known that the results of the hypothesis test with a significance value of 0.001 <0.05 means that variable X influences variable Y. The calculated t value of 8.725> t table 1.995, meaning that the family environment variable (X) influences the learning outcome variable (Y). The level of relationship between the family environment and the assessment of student learning outcomes in the learning process of Islamic Religious Education in Class X Hospitality Students of State Vocational High School 2 Karawang is in the low category.

Abstract

Implementation of Qur'an tahsin guidance in improving the Qur'an reading ability of students of SMAN 2 Klari. "This research aims to explain the implementation of tahsin coaching the Qur'an to help students at SMAN 2 Klari become better readers of the Qur'an. The foundation of this research is the importance of teaching students to read the Qur'an correctly in accordance with the rules of tajweed as part of character education and the strengthening of students' Islamic values". Qualitative descriptive research methodology uses documentation, interviews, and observations as data collection methods. The results of the study show that tahsin coaching is often carried out using the iqro method which emphasizes the determination of makhraj and tajweed. This exercise uses digital and printed Qur'an mushaf and is carried out in the classroom under the supervision of an Islamic Religious Education teacher. The application of this coaching has been proven to be effective in improving students' understanding of the basics of tajweed as well as the fluency and determination of hijaiyah letters when reading the Qur'an. This study recommends that tahsin coaching programs continue to be developed in a sustainable manner and supported by special training for supervisors.

Abstract

Initiatives to Improve the Ability to Read the Qur'an by Using the Iqra' Method at DTA Asy-Syifa Permata. This study aims to assess initiatives aimed at improving fourth grade students' Qur'an reading ability at DTA Asy-Syifa Permata through the Iqra' technique. This research uses qualitative methodology through case studies, focusing on teachers and students as the main subjects. The data obtained consisted of interviews, direct observation at school, and documentation, which were then evaluated thematically. The study concluded that the Iqra technique improves students' ability to read the Qur'an through various stages. Nonetheless, internal and external obstacles, including students' lack of aptitude and motivation from educators and parents, must be overcome through initiatives such as implementing regular Qur'ānic reading practice using the Iqra' method, using creative and innovative educational media, giving praise to students, and gaining a deeper understanding of students' abilities and personalities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengelolaan sekolah berasrama (boarding school) di tingkat SMP Unismuh Makassar, dengan fokus pada strategi pelatihan karakter peserta didik, pelaksanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, serta hubungan antara sekolah dan orang tua. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembinaan di pondok pesantren dilakukan secara terpadu melalui kegiatan akademik dan nonakademik yang berorientasi pada pembentukan karakter disiplin, tanggung jawab, dan religius. SMP Unismuh Makassar menerapkan kurikulum nasional yang dipadukan dengan kurikulum Kemuhammadiyahan. Salah satu program unggulan sekolah ini adalah Program Tahfidz yang fokus pada hafalan AL-Qur'an. Selain Tahfidz, sekolah juga memiliki sejumlah program kegiatan unggulan bagi seluruh siswa yang dilaksanakan secara berjenjang sesuai tingkatan kelas. Salah satu hal menarik dalam proses akademik di sekolah ini adalah sistem evaluasinya, yang berbeda dari sekolah pada umumnya karena menggunakan presentasi hasil belajar sebagai bentuk penilaian akhir. Selain itu, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler juga berperan penting dalam mengembangkan minat, bakat, serta keterampilan sosial siswa. Sekolah memiliki 3 ekstrakurikuler yang bersifat wajib, wajib pilih, dan peminatan. Sementara itu, hubungan sekolah dengan orang tua dijalin melalui komunikasi rutin dan program kolaboratif untuk mendukung perkembangan peserta didik secara menyeluruh. Dengan demikian, pengelolaan pondok pesantren yang efektif memerlukan sinergi antara pembinaan karakter, kegiatan siswa, dan kemitraan dengan orang tua.
