Abstract

Abstract Numeracy skills at elementary schools play an essential role as a fundamental foundation for students in developing logical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical skills needed to face the complexity of technological developments. This study aims to investigate the effect of using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME)-based realia media on numeracy literacy skills in Class IV students at SD Negeri Gandaria Utara 03 South Jakarta. The research method applied was a quasi-experiment. The sample consisted of IVA class students as the experimental class and IVB class students as the control class, which were selected using simple random sampling. The research instrument was a test consisting of 6 essays. The research results showed that using RME-based realia media had a significant effect on students' numeracy literacy skills. Thus, teachers can consider the use of RME-based realia media as an effective teaching tool to improve students' numeracy literacy skills. The main implication of this research is the importance of using realia in learning mathematics. Teachers and educators can utilize real and textual objects in teaching mathematical concepts to help students understand them better.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe the procedure of developing multiplication teaching props based on the Montessori method and to analyze students' responses to the Montessori multiplication props. Research and Development method through the ADDIE model was used in this research. The subjects of this study were 28 second-grade students at MIN 1 Malang City. Data collection was employed through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques encompassed both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. This research resulted in Montessori-based multiplication teaching props. The validation result of media products met very valid criteria, with scores of 80 from the material validator, 94 from the media design validator, and 86 from the expert validator. This media is equipped with components that are easy to understand and easy to use, as students scored 81% with positive criteria. Therefore, it can be concluded that students responded positively to the Montessori-based multiplication teaching props as a tool for mathematics learning.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the P5 and PPRA models (Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila and Profil Pelajar Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin) as a Project of Strengthening Pancasila Student Profiles and Student Profile of Rahmatan Lil' Alamin in Inclusive Schools and their supporting and inhibiting factors. The subjects in this study were inclusive elementary schools in Kebumen, namely SD Negeri 2 Pejagoan and MI Maarif Sidomulyo. This study used a qualitative approach with a type of phenomenology. Data collection was through observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis techniques used were the Miles and Huberman model, namely condensation, display, and conclusion/verification data. The results of the analysis indicated that the P5 and PPRA model in inclusive schools had been outlined in the annual program and school semester program, which were then developed in the flow of learning objectives and teaching modules, making them flexible according to the characteristics of students with special needs. The existence of good partnerships between schools, families, and the community was the dominant factor supporting P5 and PPRA, and the lack of learning facilities and media was an inhibiting factor in strengthening P5 and PPRA.

Abstract

Abstract Researchers are concerned about the low level of critical thinking of students in Indonesia and its impact on current generations. Solve this issue, there is a need to develop innovative and interactive learning media using lectora inspire in order to meet the demands of 21st-century learning. This research used the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Dissemination) and involved grade V elementary school students in West Sumatera province. The developed learning media was assessed for feasibility through tests on media, content, language, and practicality. The results indicated that the interactive learning media assisted by lectora inspire effectively enhanced the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. Experts deemed the media feasible in terms of content, language, and usability. The implementation of lectora inspire-based learning media is seen as a creative and reflective solution to tackle the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

Abstract Mild intellectual disability are children who have below-average IQ. This study aims to describe the ability of a student with mild intellectual disability to solve mathematics problems using the make-a-drawing strategy. The method used in this research was qualitative research. The subject was a student with special needs who was in grade IV but had a grade-1 level of ability. The data collection process was carried out using an interview and a test. The data validity test conducted in this study involved the triangulation technique. The qualitative data analysis stage consisted of four steps: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and the last stage involved drawing conclusions and verification. The results showed that the make-a-drawing strategy could facilitate mild intellectual disability students to develop mathematical problem-solving skills, strengthen their understanding of concepts, and increase their confidence in dealing with various daily mathematical situations.

Abstract

Abstract Extracurricular activities are great ways to discover and develop students’ creativity, talents, and interests. Drumband extracurricular activities in elementary schools offer several benefits, including increasing musical intelligence, which has the potential to have a positive impact on students’ development. This study aimed to determine the effect of after-school drumband activities on the musical intelligence of elementary school students. Musical intelligence is the ability to think about music, such as recognising, remembering, hearing, and even manipulating musical patterns. This research used qualitative approach with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) design. Data were analyzed using PRISMA analysis technique. Research results indicated that after-school drumband activities effectively increased elementary school students' musical intelligence. These activities provide an outlet for students' interests and talents in music, and help them develop their skills and abilities. Overall, extracurricular drumband activities offer valuable opportunities for students to discover and nurture creativity, talent and interest in music.

Abstract

Abstract Reading has a very important role in education, especially for students to obtain information, broaden their horizons, and sharpen their views. This study aimed to see the effect of using scramble media on students' reading skills in the high class of SD 067251. The research type used was quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of students in class IVA as the control group and students in class IVB as the experimental group, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments used were oral tests (reading) and written tests (multiple choice) of 20 questions. The data analysis used was descriptive and inferential analyses using the Independent Sample t-test. The results showed that using scramble media had an effect on students' reading ability. This can be seen from the average score of students taught using scramble media, which is higher than the conventional media (books and blackboards). Scramble media can be considered as an alternative medium to help overcome students' reading disabilities, especially in high grades.

Abstract

Abstract This study investigates the use of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach to enhance students' reading literacy skills, specifically by tailoring learning methods to individual ability levels. The research utilized a quasi-experimental design and collected data through tests, observations, and interviews. The study focused on grade I students at MIN Kota Bima, with grade I D serving as the control group and grade I E as the experimental group that received the TaRL learning intervention. Descriptive and inferential statistics, specifically the independent sample t-test, were used to analyze the data. The findings indicated that the TaRL approach had a positive impact on students' literacy skills. Implementing the TaRL approach is an effective way to address the issue of low reading literacy skills in students.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to see the effect of applying discovery learning model in the Merdeka Curriculum on the critical thinking skills of grade 5 students in science subjects. This study uses a quantitative approach in the type of pre-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data was collected using instruments in the form of pretests and posttests. This research was conducted at SD IT Baitussalam grade 5 in Tajurhalang District, Bogor Regency. The data obtained were analysed using paired sample t-test. The results of the study stated that there was an effect of the application of the independent curriculum discovery learning model on the critical reasoning of grade 5 students in science subjects. After the implementation of the independent curriculum, students' critical reasoning skills increased. The implication of this research confirms the importance of discovery learning as an effective learning model in improving students' critical thinking skills.
