Abstract

This research aims to explain sustainable tourism in Tete Batu Village, East Lombok. The research method used in writing this journal is the library study method, namely a series of activities relating to methods of collecting library data, reading and taking notes and processing research materials. Literature studies can also study various reference books and similar previous research results which are useful for obtaining a theoretical basis regarding the problem to be researched. The research results show that, the principle of sustainable tourism development is essentially related to efforts to ensure that the natural, social and cultural resources utilized for tourism development in this generation can be enjoyed by future generations. "Tourism development must be based on sustainability criteria, which means that development can be supported ecologically in the long term as well as being economically feasible, ethically and socially fair to society" (Sustainable Tourism Charter, 1995). Tete Batu Tourism Village has met the criteria in terms of sustainable tourism aspects, starting from the level of community participation, monitoring, training on carrying capacity and so on.

Abstract

The Batubara Malay tribe is a Malay tribe originating from the North Sumatra area. The tradition of eating together face to face can be seen from traditional life which is strongly influenced by Islamic values, where marriages are often carried out through arranged marriages and family introductions mediated by the tradition of eating together. This research aims to explore the local wisdom stored in these various traditions and reveal its influence in strengthening social ties between ethnic Malays. Using a qualitative approach, data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews and literature review. The research results show that the tradition of eating together face to face is not just an activity of eating at weddings, but also as a means of strengthening ties of brotherhood, strengthening communication between community members, and maintaining cultural values and social norms. This tradition also reflects the principles of mutual cooperation and togetherness which are the basis of the social life of the Batubara Malay community. Through this analysis, it can be understood that the tradition of eating together face to face has a significant role in maintaining harmony and preservation of Malay culture.

Abstract

This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the existing research on the impact of capital structure on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The study synthesizes and analyzes findings from various studies to identify key trends, gaps, and areas for future research. The SLR covers factors influencing SMEs' capital structure decisions, including internal factors like company size, profitability, and growth opportunities, and external factors such as market conditions, industry characteristics, and regulatory environment. Our findings reveal that the capital structure significantly affects SMEs' financial performance and sustainability. Debt financing offers growth potential but increases financial risk, while equity financing provides stability and reduces risk but dilutes ownership. The optimal mix of debt and equity varies based on specific SME characteristics and external conditions. Additionally, the capital structure influences SMEs' ability to attract external financing and impacts their overall growth and profitability. The review also highlights the need for more focused research on the determinants of capital structure in SMEs, the role of external financing sources, and the relationship between capital structure and firm performance over time. Longitudinal studies and investigations into macroeconomic factors' impact on SMEs' capital structure decisions are recommended for future research.

Abstract

Rural women participate in implementing food crop farming activities both in paddy fields and dry land. This participation should be followed by women's participation in agricultural extension activities and the realization of gender equality in farming. This research is aimed at analyzing the level of gender equality in corn farming in dry land farming and the agricultural extension factors that influence it. The research location is in Jerowaru District with the sample villages being Seriwe Village (hill land) and Sekaroh Village (moor land). Data was collected using survey techniques by conducting interviews with 60 respondents. Data were analyzed descriptively using scoring, Mann-Whitney difference test and Rank Spearman correlation analysis test. The research results found that the level of gender equality in corn farming is relatively high and is influenced by agricultural extension support factors. Thus, strengthening the implementation of gender responsive extension needs to be improved to realize equality in access and control of resources, women's participation in corn farming and obtaining benefits.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the participation of first-time voters and their level of political understanding during the 2024 Presidential Election in Bekiung Village, Kuala Subdistrict, Langkat Regency. This is a descriptive study employing a qualitative approach. The data used comprise primary data collected through observations and interviews with relevant informants, and secondary data obtained from literature, journals, and other relevant sources. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings reveal that the participation of first-time voters in the 2024 Presidential Election in Bekiung Village remains relatively low. This is closely related to their uneven levels of political understanding. Several factors influencing low participation include individual awareness, family influence, peer interaction, and exposure to information through social media. While formal education and digital media play a role in shaping political awareness, many first-time voters still make decisions irrationally and without critical consideration. These findings highlight the urgent need to enhance political literacy to foster more informed and active participation among young voters in democratic processes.

Abstract

This study analyzes the financial performance of the Tourism Office of West Lombok Regency from 2022 to 2024, focusing on Local Revenue (PAD), expenditure, and fiscal independence ratio. Using a descriptive quantitative analysis of budget realization data supported by regional fiscal policy literature, the research reveals that while tourism-sector PAD increased by 21.1% (2023-2024), achievement reached only 13-14% of targets, indicating unrealistic targets or inefficient revenue collection. The restaurant sector grew significantly (+39.3%), but hotels and entertainment contributed minimally (<7% and <1%, respectively). On the expenditure side, a disparity exists between high operational absorption (97.14%) and low capital expenditure (68.65%), hindering tourism infrastructure development. The regional fiscal independence ratio was critically low (3.48-3.90%), reflecting extreme reliance on central transfers (26-27x PAD). Another key finding is the gap between surging tourist visits (+236% above 2024 targets) and their limited contribution to PAD. The study recommends: (1) optimizing local tax collection through digitization and law enforcement, (2) accelerating capital expenditure by streamlining regulations, and (3) target evaluation based on realistic potential.
