Abstract

Tolerance plays a pivotal role in fostering positive impacts within society, particularly in Indonesia where Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School), as the oldest educational institutions, shape the character of Santri (students) and instills the essence of tolerance. This article aims to describe and analyze how exemplary leadership by the Kiai (Islamic kiais), the curriculum taught, and the daily activities of students in fostering religious tolerance in Khalaf and Salaf Islamic Boarding Schools. The study was conducted as field research using qualitative descriptive methods, delving into Al-Mujatama’ al-Islami (khalafiyyah), and Arroudhotul Wahidah (salafiyyah) Islamic Boarding Schools. Data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation from kiais and student teaching staff. The systematic data analysis involved collection, reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, validated through source triangulation. The research results demonstrate that the kiais at both Islamic Boarding Schools exhibit exceptional leadership by promoting inclusivity and understanding through interactions with students from diverse backgrounds. They value dialogue, respect diverse opinions, and uphold tolerance. Al-Mujatama’ al-Islami Islamic Boarding School prioritizes religious education and practical skills to foster religious tolerance, while Arroudhotul Wahidah Islamic Boarding School excels in teaching Islamic Heritage Books, fosters tolerance, respect for diverse views, social consciousness, and discourse. Those Islamic Boarding Schools use structured schedules, group activities, and an all-encompassing educational strategy to foster respect, unity, and holistic growth among students. They cultivate individuals with diverse competencies and compassionate values, emphasizing how religious teachings influence attitudes toward tolerance and respect for religious diversity.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and increasingly fierce competition, companies are required to improve the performance of their employees to survive and thrive. PT. Pegadaian (Persero), one of the largest financial companies in Indonesia, faces similar challenges in its efforts to maintain a strategic position in the market. One strategy that can be used to improve employee performance is through increased motivation and work discipline. This study aims to analyze the effect of Work Motivation, Work Discipline, and Employee Performance at PT. Pegadaian (Persero) Kedaton Branch Bandar Lampung, a saturated sample was used to select 40 employees of PT. Pegadaian Kedaton branch. The analysis method uses multiple linear regression models, the coefficient of determination then hypothesis testing using the t-test and F test. The results showed that the t-test (partial) stated that work motivation had a positive and significant effect on the performance of PT. Pegadaian Kedaton employees, work discipline did not affect work productivity. While the F test has simultaneous results that work motivation and work discipline, significantly affect employee work productivity. The coefficient of determination analysis explains that motivation, discipline, and performance affect work productivity. this research not only has a direct impact on improving the performance of PT. Pegadaian (Persero) employees also make a significant contribution to the overall development of Islamic society. The application of the results of this study can be a catalyst for positive change in the business world and society, making Islamic values a strong foundation for sustainable and meaningful economic development.

Abstract

This research has the objective of how environmental literacy-based communication strategies to overcome pollution in Sangir Batanghari. In this framework, environmental literacy-based communication development strategies become crucial to provide knowledge about environmental protection and increase participation and active involvement of the community in sustainable development. In this research, a qualitative method was used by using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The findings of this research show that Local Community Involvement is inviting local communities in development planning and decision-making as well as collaborating with non-governmental organizations. The results of this research provide an important contribution to the understanding of environmental pollution in providing knowledge and communication strategies for sustainable development in supporting empowerment in the Subdistrict of Sangir Batanghari. Communication strategy as an effort to overcome environmental pollution with several stages, namely, the assessment stage, the planning stage, the message production stage, and the reflection stage.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the community empowerment process and economic development strategies implemented through the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) 'Sejahtera' in Jangkang Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with validity tested through triangulation of techniques and sources. The findings reveal that the community empowerment process in BUMDes 'Sejahtera' is carried out through three main stages: (1) increasing community awareness, (2) capacity building for individuals and groups, and (3) implementing empowerment activities. The economic development strategies applied include: (1) creating a supportive climate for strengthening local capacities and safeguarding local assets, and (2) implementing rural development programs based on local needs. This study offers novelty in its structured participatory approach to active community involvement, presenting a potential model for replication in other villages. Practically, the findings provide valuable guidance for BUMDes managers and policymakers in designing more effective empowerment programs, particularly in enhancing the economic independence of rural communities.

Abstract

Budiman Supermarket Sawahan, Padang City, upholds Islamic values based on Sharia or Islam. The problem in this research is how to implement Islamic Business Management in Budiman Supermarket, Padang City. The research aims to determine how Islamic Business Management is implemented in the aforementioned Supermarket. The research method used was a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research data sources are the Managers, employees, and consumers of Budiman Supermarket Sawahan. Supporting data comes from books and documents. Data collection techniques are through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data processing employs data reduction, presentation, analysis, and conclusions. The research results show that the implementation of business management at Budiman Supermarket, Padang City, can be seen from several aspects: first, business management, namely the marketing aspect, management activities based on functions that try to identify consumer needs and how to realize consumer desires—second, implementing a mixed strategy of product, price, and promotion. Furthermore, the implementation of Islamic Business Management in Budiman Supermarket can be seen from Islamic business marketing management, which has three concepts: trust, building, and creating trust. Second is quality service, namely the services provided, and third is responsibility or trust.

Abstract

Problems of parents of children with Down syndrome often face various challenges, ranging from child health problems and limited access to adequate education to social stigma that is still strong in society. Down syndrome is a genetic condition that occurs due to the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 21, which causes delays in physical and intellectual development. This situation can cause significant psychological distress and requires an appropriate mentoring strategy. This research aims to examine the social-religious approach to empowering parents of children with Down syndrome in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The results showed that the social-religious approach in empowering parents of children with Down syndrome can be done by providing social assistance for children and parents with Down syndrome as well as for other people and institutions in need, developing the talents and skills of children with Down syndrome by giving them various skills classes, holding psychology and doctor seminars for children with down syndrome, listening to tausyiah, praying in congregation and reciting the Koran.

Abstract

The title of the article is HeForShe's Role in Palembang Society. She invites men of all ages as equal partners in building a women's rights movement and implementing a shared vision of gender equality that benefits all humanity. The campaign sought to actively involve men and boys in a movement initially conceived as "women's struggle by women. The first issue raised was the role of HeForShe's campaign in protecting women in Palembang society. Second is a review of Islamic law on HeForShe's role in protecting women. This type of research is research this termasuk todalam descriptive research qualitative meetup will research yan g digunwill examine the condition of scientific objects, dimana researcher As a key instrument, data collection techniques are carried out in combination, inductive data analysis and qualitative research results emphasize meaning rather than generalization. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the achievement of gender equality through the HeForShe Campaign is realized through the role of HeForShe in Indonesia to support and achieve gender equality in the form of training, socialization, and education aimed at the community, workers, and students. One of the activities is raising awareness among men and women about the Sriwijaya Smart Women's Movement (GPCS). Women's protection is included in the Adz-Dzaruriyah maslahat, which is an effort to protect women; women need this protection to carry out their rights and obligations properly. The policy of maslahah must be in accordance with the objectives of Islamic Law; that is, it must not contradict the Qur'an and the Sunnah and must be in accordance with the purpose of Islamic Law, namely al-maqāṣid al-Syari’ah, according to researchers, to be appropriate and appropriate.

Abstract

Increasing student creativity in the context of higher education is essential as part of character and skill formation. The Salman ITB Campus Mosque, in addition to functioning as a place of worship, also serves as a center for community activities that support the development of various student potentials, including in the field of handicrafts through the Lingkar Kreatif Salman (LIKESA) unit. This study aims to explore the implementation of crafting activities in the campus mosque through the LIKESA unit, along with its role and identify the challenges faced and the solutions offered. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection through interviews, observations, and document studies. The results of the study found that the crafting activities organized by the LIKESA unit at the Salman ITB Campus Mosque actively contributed to increasing student creativity through various craft workshops, such as knitting and painting. Although the support of the Salman ITB Mosque in terms of facilities and funding was very significant, the LIKESA unit faced specific challenges such as difficulty in finding available speakers, lack of publications to reach participants, and low participation due to participants' shyness to exhibit their work. Proposed solutions include utilizing social media to increase publications and participation, as well as building collaborative networks with external speakers. The important finding of this study is that the existence of infrastructure and resource support from Salman Mosque ITB is the key to success in implementing LIKESA craft activities. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of institutional support and effective communication strategies for the sustainability and improvement of the quality of craft activities in the student environment.

Abstract

The research examines using digital platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp to drive business growth, enhance community engagement, and promote economic empowerment while strictly adhering to Islamic ethical principles. Employing a qualitative case study methodology in Salon Jois Bandung, including in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis, the findings reveal that aligning digital marketing strategies with cultural and religious values is pivotal for fostering customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty. The research highlights the critical role of ethical considerations in shaping digital marketing practices in culturally sensitive contexts, such as those found in Islamic societies. The case of Salon Jois demonstrates that MSMEs can effectively leverage digital platforms to build robust community connections and achieve sustainable growth, provided they carefully navigate the ethical complexities inherent in these markets. This research contributes to the existing literature on digital marketing in Islamic contexts by offering practical insights into culturally sensitive marketing practices and emphasizing the potential of digital marketing to advance the broader objectives of Islamic community development. The findings advocate for further scholarly inquiry into integrating contemporary marketing tools with traditional Islamic values, which is crucial for the sustainable development of MSMEs in Muslim-majority regions.

Abstract

This study examines the socio-economic empowerment fostered by a community-based sheep farming program in Desa Gelarwangi, KecamatanCidaun, Kabupaten Cianjur, within an Islamic rural society. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a case study method, the research explored the program's impact on economic development, social cohesion, and environmental sustainability. The research reveals that 1) the program has increased income for participants and fostered stronger community ties, 2) challenges such as seasonal feed shortages, limited access to veterinary services, and the need for formal training hinder its full potential. 3) The integration of sheep farming with local agricultural practices, mainly using sheep manure as fertilizer, has contributed to environmental sustainability and food security. 4)The lack of formal financial services and market integration limits further economic scalability. The study concluded that with continued governmental support and targeted interventions, community-based sheep farming programs have significant potential for sustainable socio-economic development in rural Islamic contexts, serving as a model for similar initiatives. The research contributes to the broader discourse on rural development, Islamic economics, and community-based agriculture.
