Abstract

This study investigates the influence of ecolinguistic factors on the misuse of ḍamīr (pronouns) in Arabic conversations among students in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Employing a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and linguistic error analysis. The findings indicate that environmental elements—such as the habitual use of local languages and the limited exposure to Arabic in daily interactions—significantly contribute to errors in the use of ḍamīr. Among the types of pronouns, ḍamīr muttaṣil exhibited the highest frequency of errors (60%), followed by ḍamīr munfaṣil (30%) and ḍamīr mustatir (10%). These errors occurred more frequently in informal contexts, underscoring the role of situational language use. The study highlights the critical role of an immersive and supportive language environment in fostering accurate Arabic usage. Its implications are relevant for the refinement of Arabic language instruction in pesantren, offering pedagogical recommendations to enhance language competence through ecolinguistically responsive teaching strategies.

Abstract

The implementation of the Blooket game Fishing Frenzy mode has been proven effective in Arabic vocabulary learning at the elementary level. The use of Blooket in learning creates an enjoyable atmosphere, making students actively engaged and preventing boredom. This study aims to analyze the application of Blooket in Arabic vocabulary learning at MIN 1 Kota Malang. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study sample consists of 56 students divided into an experimental group using Blooket and a control group using conventional methods. The research instrument includes an Arabic vocabulary test, and the collected data was analyzed using SPSS 20. The results show a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes after implementing the Blooket game, as reflected in the comparison between pre-test and post-test scores, with an average N-Gain of 77.8. Additionally, hypothesis testing results indicate a significance value of 0.006, which is lower than 0.05, leading to the rejection of Ho and acceptance of Ha. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Blooket game effectively enhances students' interest and learning outcomes in Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology, especially through social media such as Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, has brought significant influence on the Arabic language. This study aims to examine the role of social media in generating new meanings in Arabic through linguistic phenomena such as neologisms, word meaning changes, as well as the use of creative local dialects. Using a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach, data is collected from new terms that appear on social media and supported by related academic literature. The results showed that social media became an important medium in the birth of new vocabulary such as hashtag, influencer, and selfie, as well as meaning changes in traditional words such as viral and visually appealing. This phenomenon reflects the linguistic creativity of the younger generation, the influence of globalization, and the dynamics of Arabic language adaptation to digital culture. However, the massive influx of foreign terms also poses a challenge to the preservation of classical Arabic. This study confirms that social media acts as a major agent in the evolution of contemporary Arabic.

Abstract

Authentic assessment is an evaluative approach that emphasizes real-world skills, aligns with real-life contexts, and encompasses both the process and outcomes of learning. As a form of assessment adapted to real-life situations, it is expected to effectively address the challenges of the digital era. This study aims to describe authentic assessment strategies in Arabic language learning in the digital age. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through a literature review of various sources, including books, articles, and journals, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings indicate that authentic assessment differs from traditional assessment as it evaluates students based on the application of knowledge through meaningful tasks such as projects, portfolios, presentations, and debates. In Arabic language learning, authentic assessment can be developed based on the four language skills (maharah lughawiyah). Strategies for authentic assessment in the digital era can utilize technologies such as podcasts, videos, online story websites, and collaborative platforms to create relevant and engaging learning experiences.

Abstract

This study addresses the problem of low Arabic sentence writing skills among fifth-grade students at an elementary school in East Lombok. Contributing factors include limited writing practice and teachers’ difficulties in delivering effective and engaging writing instruction. The study aims to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of the scramble method in improving students’ Arabic sentence writing skills on the theme of “at school.” The research employed Kurt Lewin’s Classroom Action Research (CAR) model, conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and tests. Results showed a significant improvement in teacher performance (from 70 in Cycle I to 83.6 in Cycle II) and student activity (from 72 to 85). Writing skills also increased, with the average class score rising from 65.69 to 83, and the mastery level improving from 46.15% to 84.61%. These findings highlight the effectiveness of the scramble method in enhancing Arabic writing instruction at the primary level and recommend its broader application in similar contexts.

Abstract

This study explores the application of the concept of "khairu ummah" through non-formal education at the Sabilurrosyad Islamic Boarding School, Malang, with a focus on the role of religious traditions in shaping individual character. The background of this study is driven by the decline in morals and erroneous understanding of religion in Indonesia, which is evident in social events such as violence and religious conflict. This study uses a qualitative approach with case studies, involving observation, interviews, and documentation to analyze how religious traditions, such as congregational prayer and tadarus Al-Qur'an, contribute to the formation of khairu ummah character. The results of the study indicate that the application of religious traditions consistently and structured is effective in shaping individuals who meet the criteria of khairu ummah, which includes the integration of the values of amar ma'ruf nahi munkar and iman billah in everyday life. This study emphasizes the importance of expanding socialization and implementing the principle of khairu ummah to overcome the decline in morals and understanding of religion in society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the content of the 10th grade Nahwu Sharaf book published by KSKK Kemenag in 2020 with the analysis of Rusydi Ahmad Thu'aimah as an Arabic language learning expert. Nahwu sharaf is Arabic grammar lessons which include morphology and syntax. Content analysis includes 4 aspects, namely analysis of book content, material preparation, material presentation, and book output display. The research method used is Krippendorff's content analysis method with a qualitative approach. The research step consists of unitizing, the researcher determines the unit of analysis in the form of phrases, namely book analysis and the perspective of Rusydi Ahmad Thu'aimah. The next step is sampling, namely the entire contents of the book. Third is coding, called coding because in this process researchers group data based on research categories including book content, material structuring, material presentation, and output in the form of printed books. Fourth is reducing by selecting data to find important data only. Next is inferring, which is drawing conclusions by connecting the data findings. The last is narrating or compiling a research report. Findings reveal that the textbook aligns well with the curriculum and employs an inductive approach which makes it easier to deepen the grammar material, but it has weaknesses such limited illustrative visuals and gradation of materials. The study concludes that This textbook has good quality in presenting the material but needs to improve several supporting aspects as mentioned. This research can contribute to improving the quality of textbooks in the future.

Abstract

The application of learning models and media that are less varied causes boredom and makes students less interested in learning. In this case, the researcher examines the application of the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model based on Padlet media as an alternative for maharah kitabah learning. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the application of the Think Talk Write (TTW) model can increase students' interest and motivation in learning the Arabic maharah kitabah subject and how students respond when the Think Talk Write model based on Padlet media is applied to maharah kitabah learning. The type of research used is pre-experimental designs research with a one shot case study design. It is said to be pre-experimental because this design is not yet a real experiment. This study involved one class, namely the experimental class, which used the think Talk Write (TTW) model based on Padlet media in learning Arabic. The research sample consisted of 25 students. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The instruments used in the study were pre-test and post-test. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in student interest and motivation as evidenced by the pre-test and post-test scores in the experimental class, where the pre-test score was 47.57 and the post-test score was 85.62. In addition, it was proven by the results of the t-test which showed that the significance value was less than 0.005 so that it can be stated that there is an influence of the Think Talk Write (TTW) model based on Padlet media on Arabic language learning materials, especially on the Maharah Kitabah.
