Abstract

Mathematical disposition can help students overcome difficulties in learning mathematics more effectively. With the mediation of mathematical disposition, the positive influence of self-directed learning can more easily lead to increased students' problem-solving abilities. This research aims to explore the role of mathematical disposition as a mediator in influencing learning difficulties and self-directed learning on problem-solving abilities. The survey method was used to collect data based on probability sampling from 32 students from class 5 at MI Ma'arif Patihan Wetan. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire consisting of a Likert scale with 4 alternative answers. PLS-SEM analysis was used to analyze data and test and evaluate the construction of variables measuring problem-solving abilities. The results of the analysis show that problem-solving abilities are not significantly influenced by learning difficulties (β=0.000; ρ=0.998) and self-directed learning (β=0.000; ρ=0.061). In addition, mathematical disposition was proven to mediate the influence of learning difficulties (β=0.443; ρ=0.000) and self-directed learning (β=0.214; ρ=0.286) on problem-solving abilities. These findings highlight the importance of mathematical disposition in facilitating problem-solving abilities through learning difficulties and self-directed learning. The practical implication of this research is the need for a holistic approach in developing a positive attitude towards mathematics as an integral part of the learning approach. This research supports efforts to provide a learning environment that supports, motivates, and encourages students to develop positive mathematical dispositions. As well as emphasizing the development of metacognitive skills and utilizing learning technology to facilitate interaction and collaboration between students in exploring mathematical concepts.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study and analyze the regularity of the relationship between Islamic values and social science subjects/materials contained in the thematic book theme 3 "Caring for Living Things" published by the Ministry of Education and Culture revised edition 2017, using Ian G. Barbour's theory which formulates 4 typologies namely conflict, independence, dialogue, and integration. This research is a type of qualitative research using library research method or content analysis. The data collection technique uses documentation techniques to collect information, which is then analyzed to determine whether the data obtained is relevant and valid. Data analysis uses some equipment (pencils, pens, and note paper), bibliographic work, preparing and determining time, reading, and then concluding. The object of this research is the thematic book theme 3 revision 2017 published by the Ministry of Education and Culture grade IV SD / MI. This study found that the relationship between Islamic values and social issues in thematic thematic books includes 3 of the 4 typologies proposed by Barbour namely: a) independent, c) dialog, and d) integration. There is no conflict between social science materials and Islamic values (religion) because both can be united by finding common points between social science and Islamic values. This is done based on references to Quranic verses. In this case, the social science issues in the textbook are integrated with Islamic values by tracing the verses of the Quran.

Abstract

Research instruments are the most important element in research. With a valid research instrument, the results of the research will be valid as well. But if the instruments or research tools used in the study are not effective, then the results obtained are certainly not as expected. Survey equipment is used to measure the subject of survey variables. Apart from that, the use of instruments in research is to collect data. This study was used to test the emotional intelligence that has been developed by researchers. The developed emotional intelligence instrument consists of five indicators, namely: 1) the ability to recognize oneself, 2) the ability to manage emotions, 3) the ability to motivate oneself, 4) the ability to recognize the emotions of others, and 5) the skill of cultivating relationships with others. This research is a research and development (Research and Development) involving 60 respondents, namely students of class V MIN 6 Central Tapanuli who were selected by stratified sampling and random. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 26.00 for Windows to confirm internal consistency with Cronbach Alpha. From the questionnaire results, the questionnaire items are valid and reliable, and the average reliability value of Cronbach's alpha is high (0.720 > 0.6), and this emotional intelligence index is used to measure the emotional intelligence of elementary school students.

Abstract

The Educational Institutions and Teacher Training Institutions (Lembaga Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan—LPTK) are perceived as lacking innovation in developing educational and teaching practices aimed at producing professional and character-driven teachers. It aligns with new findings indicating the lack of professionalism among teachers, as evidenced by violations of the teachers' code of ethics. Moral and ethical breaches are also frequently reported in schools. The leadership of LPTK has responded to this phenomenon by introducing programs that integrate and synergize teaching theories and practices, including implementing best practices, such as the Asistensi Mengajar (AM) program. This evaluative research examines the educational and teaching internships at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah across Malang Raya. It aims to enhance the quality of prospective teachers, ensuring they are professional and character-driven. Interviews, observations, and document analysis revealed that supervising teachers highly evaluate the competencies of AM students from the PGMI (Primary School Teacher Education) program at FITK UIN Malang. However, weaknesses remain in the area of developing teaching modules. School principals also provided positive assessments, noting that students generally exceeded expectations. Nonetheless, issues like lack of discipline in completing final assignments and adhering to school working hours were highlighted. Internal factors remain a significant obstacle. This study recommends that the management of the AM program conduct evaluations and introduce innovations in its management development.
