Abstract

In a competitive market, companies anticipate demand and ensure product availability. However, demand uncertainty due to the bullwhip effect can disrupt a company's efforts to make proper plans. This research aims to reduce the value of the bullwhip effect to produce optimal inventory using the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) method in salt processing companies. This research uses a VMI method with a probabilistic inventory control model approach. So, the vendor determines the number of orders per period. The data type used is secondary data for each distributor and vendor from March 2023 to February 2024. The novelty of this research is the addition of product shortage cost variables, and research was carried out on distributors and vendors. The research results show that the VMI method can reduce the bullwhip effect on vendors by 71%, as well as in each distributor region, such as East Java by 71%, Central Java by 59%, West Java by 57%, Sulawesi by 67%, Sumatra by 62%, Kalimantan by 60%, NTB by 61%, and Bangka Belitung by 63%. This research helps companies effectively estimate optimal inventory for each distributor to avoid information distortion that will cause a bullwhip effect.

Abstract

This paper finds out the justification of COVID-19 patients and suspected patients’ abandonment of isolation and quarantine centres. In this paper, the authors sought to identify the justification for escaping from isolation centers, to inform and modify decision markers strategies. The questions the paper sought to answer were, has escape from isolation centers by COVID-19 patients happened only in Ghana, what could be the main reasons behind escaping across the world, and how will the knowledge of these reasons help transform management practice achieve the best cooperation from patients The research method was largely qualitative, adopting a deductive and archival research approach. However, a quantitative research technique was used in reporting counts of documents evaluated for the study including escapees from the centers.  In this paper, fifteen published news items, 35 articles, and 22 textbooks were reviewed. The research revealed that escape from isolation centers has happened world-over, while stigmatization stands as the main reason for escaping. In conclusion, patients in the centers should be respected, and receive counseling, and daily updates of information on the well-being of their families and themselves.

Abstract

This study examines the financial behaviour and utilisation of e-finance among female entrepreneurs in traditional marketplaces in Ghana. The researchers collected data from 385 female entrepreneurs using a quantitative research method. The data was collected through a descriptive survey design and analysed using ordinary least squares regression models. The results show significant correlations between e-finance adoption, financial literacy, and financial behaviour. This highlights the importance of financial literacy in enabling women to participate in the market. The study also found that financial literacy had a greater impact on the financial behaviour of younger women, suggesting the need for targeted interventions that leverage technology. Additionally, the study found that the level of education had a significant impact on the adoption of electronic finance. This emphasises the importance of improving digital literacy to bridge the skills divide. Based on these findings, the study suggests the need for tailored financial education programmes and comprehensive initiatives to promote responsible financial practices and the adoption of modern financial technologies by female entrepreneurs in traditional markets.

Abstract

The aeronautics sector, including aircraft construction, parts supply or maintenance of aircraft parts, and repair and modification services, is currently one of the most dynamic industries in the world. The business performance of aircraft maintenance companies is highly dependent on the Safety Management System (SMS) and Capability Building (CB). This research is a synthesis formed integrative based on various previous research literature modified by researchers. The population in this study were company leaders or parties representing them in private and state-owned Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) companies, totaling 119, with a sample of 91 respondents. This research was verification research with an explanatory survey. Data analysis used the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach through the SmartPLS software. We found that MRO business performance is influenced by SMS and CB in aircraft maintenance service companies in Indonesia. CB mediated the effect of SMS on Business Performance in aircraft maintenance service companies in Indonesia. MRO business performance can be further improved with intervention from CB based on SMS integration. SMS was so integrated with CB that SMS could not develop without CB, and vice versa. One aspect that needed to continue to develop here was an assessment related to identifying accident risks in the SMS, which was integrated with various maintenance and overhauls in the CB. Keywords: Capability Building; MRO business performance; Safety Management System; Indonesian aviation sector.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of military leadership and organizational culture on leaders' performance in the TNI AD Military Police unit. The approach used is descriptive verification with multiple regression methods. The population in the study were 69 POMDAM and DENPOM commanders throughout Indonesia. Data collection used a questionnaire distributed via google forms in one data collection (cross-sectional method). Military leadership variables are measured by task-oriented, relationship-oriented, change-oriented, and external dimensions. Organizational culture variables are measured using the dimensions of individual behavior, norms, dominant values, philosophy, applicable regulations, and organizational climate. Meanwhile, the TNI Commander's regulations measure the leader's performance, including quantity, quality, creativity, cooperation, initiative, and personal qualities. The findings show that military leadership and organizational culture significantly affect leadership performance, partially or simultaneously. Military leadership, which is a projection of the personality and character of a leader to make his subordinates do what is asked, can explain performance. Oath-based military culture includes matters such as commitment, values, and behavior which are elements in the culture that play a role in improving the performance of every level of personnel in the organization.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of profitability, growth opportunities, liquidity, cash flow volatility, earning volatility and the magnitude of the acceleration of the capital structure of health sector companies in Indonesia in 2010-2022. The data analysis used is a dynamic capital structure model with a Partial Adjustment Model (PAM) approach which involves lag variables, determining factors of optimal capital structure and acceleration of capital structure in one equation. PAM model parameter estimation uses GMM with the aim of overcoming the problem of endogeneity. The GMM model test results show consistent, valid and unbiased. So the health sector company data is in accordance with the dynamic capital structure model, which is indicated by the coefficient value of the lag variable of 0.5821 which is smaller than 1 which is significant at an alpha of 0.05. The company's response to returning to an optimal capital structure is shown by an acceleration value (SOA) of 41.79%, with a time period of 1.3 years. Performance factors that have a negative influence on optimal capital structure are growth opportunities, liquidity and earnings volatility. Cash flow volatility has a positive influence. Meanwhile, profitability has no influence on optimal capital structure.
