Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of parental satisfaction with the educational services at SDIT Kartika Buana and to formulate strategies for improving service quality through a synergistic approach between the school and parents. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method using the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) approach. The sample consisted of 50 respondents randomly selected from a population of 319 students. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire developed based on the five dimensions of service quality as defined by Kotler and Armstrong, as well as Zeithaml and Bitner, namely: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The findings indicate an average satisfaction level of 3.93 and an expectation level of 4.20, resulting in a conformity level of 95%. The Cartesian analysis revealed that the quality of the learning program, teacher competence, and the alignment between cost and educational quality are key priorities for improvement. Meanwhile, teacher behavior and the Tahfidz (Qur’an memorization) program fall under the category of aspects that should be maintained. This study highlights that synergy between the school and parents is a critical strategy in maintaining and enhancing the quality of educational services, particularly within integrated Islamic elementary education institutions.

Abstract

This study investigates the policy dynamics and institutional mechanisms guiding capacity building in Ethiopia’s higher education within the framework of internationalisation and quality assurance. Drawing on a qualitative document review approach, the research analysed government policies, institutional strategies, and accreditation reports to assess how national directives align with global trends in higher education reform. The findings indicate that Ethiopian education policy increasingly incorporates internationalisation goals, such as academic mobility, collaborative research, curriculum benchmarking, and global quality standards. Strategic plans also highlight the importance of institutional autonomy and contextual relevance in Islamic education delivery. Despite this, the study reveals persistent challenges, including inadequate financial support, coordination gaps between agencies, and limited institutional readiness—especially among faith-based universities. Empirical evidence, including national audit reports and academic performance records, points to modest growth in faculty qualifications and research output in recent years, although progress varies across institutions. Thematic analysis suggests that while policy aspirations are clear, the operationalisation of these ambitions remains uneven and highly dependent on external funding and technical assistance. Moreover, the regulatory environment lacks specificity in addressing the dual demands of religious identity and global competitiveness. This paper contributes to ongoing debates on harmonising Islamic education with international academic standards in the Global South. It offers policy-level recommendations to strengthen institutional governance, resource mobilisation, and inter-agency collaboration. Ultimately, the study encourages rethinking capacity building not only as institutional enhancement but also as a culturally grounded and globally oriented transformation process in higher education systems.

Abstract

Islamic higher education institutions play a strategic role in shaping students' religious understanding, particularly in the area of fiqh worship practices. This foundational aspect of Islamic studies is essential for cultivating a balanced and contextualized approach to religious life among students. The New Student Pesantren Program serves as an integrated religious orientation model aimed at strengthening students’ comprehension and practice of fiqh from the beginning of their academic journey. This study seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of the program in enhancing students’ understanding of fiqh worship within Islamic universities. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data through surveys, comprehension tests, and case study observations. The research involved first-year students selected through purposive sampling. Key instruments included a structured questionnaire and a fiqh worship comprehension test. Data were analyzed using triangulation techniques to ensure the validity and reliability of findings. Results from the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test showed a significance value of 0.000, which is lower than the threshold of 0.05. This confirms a statistically significant improvement in students’ understanding of fiqh worship after participating in the program. Therefore, the New Student Pesantren Program is proven to be an effective initiative in improving fiqh worship literacy, contributing to the broader goal of religious development in Islamic higher education settings.

Abstract

One aspect of university quality assurance is providing guidance and counseling services for students. Students are vulnerable to various problems while undergoing education in higher education. Resilience is one of the characters that is important for students to be able to survive and recover from various difficult situations and problems experienced. To increase resilience, appropriate treatment is needed along with a model as a reference. This study aims to develop a psychoeducational group service model based on Islamic Gratitude to improve student resilience. The research method uses Borg and Gall developmental research until the expert and practitioner validation stage and produces a prototype. The results of the research are the Islamic Gratitude Psychoeducational Group Model to Increase Student Resilience which integrates the stages of gratitude intervention developed by Bohlmajer and the values of gratitude in Islam which include syukr bil qalb, syukr bil lisan, and syukr bil hal, and contains the values of Iman, Islam, and Ihsan. Expert validation of the model shows that the model is feasible and can be used. Further research can conduct small group tests/experimental tests to measure the effectiveness of the developed model

Abstract

Pesantren education in Indonesia faces challenges in integrating the development of spiritual, moral, and academic competence of santri in a balanced manner. Al-Ghazzali's Sufistic thought is considered relevant to strengthen pesantren education practices because it emphasises purification of the soul (tazkiyatun nafs), moral development (tarbiyatul akhlaq), and systematic dhikr practices. This study aims to analyse the influence of al-Ghazzali's Sufistic principles on pesantren education practices in Indonesia. The research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytic type to obtain an in-depth understanding of the implementation of Sufistic values in the context of pesantren education. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with kyai, ustaz, and santri; participatory observation of learning and worship activities; and documentation of curriculum and teaching records. Data analysis was conducted through reduction, presentation, and triangulation to ensure the validity and consistency of the findings. The results show that the application of the tazkiyatun nafs principle encourages santri to conduct self-reflection, routine dhikr, and spiritual evaluation so as to increase self-awareness, discipline, and emotional control. The principle of tarbiyatul akhlaq through moral mentoring and social activities strengthens the character, empathy, and social responsibility of santri. The integration of al-Ghazzali's Sufistic values in the curriculum and daily activities creates a balance between intellectual and spiritual aspects, forming students who are spiritually mature, noble, and able to interact harmoniously in society. In conclusion, al-Ghazzali's Sufistic thought plays a significant role in improving the quality of pesantren education holistically. Future research is recommended to compare pesantren that apply Sufistic principles with those that do not, as well as examining the application of Sufistic.

Abstract

The library is an important part of a university. Especially for UIN Walisongo Semarang which states to be a research Islamic university based on the vision that has been announced. The library is a vital unit contributing to the realization of the vision of the institution because it is a storage place for various research results both from inside and outside UIN Walisongo Semarang. In addition, several problems occur in the library, so it is necessary to forecast the number of visitors to ascertain the number of librarians who serve it. Decomposition becomes a statistical method in predicting the number of visitors because this method breaks the components of a periodic series separately which can improve the accuracy of forecasting. This prediction has resulted in an increase in the number of visitors to the library of UIN Walisongo Semarang in 2020 compared to the previous year. Based on the results of forecasting the number of visitors, the number of librarians that must be provided is 42 librarians.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a change in the learning system which was originally carried out face-to-face and replaced with distance learning or online. The purpose of this research is to describe distance learning management (planning, implementing, and controlling), the constraints that arise and the solutions to overcome them. The research method uses qualitative research with a case study design and an ethnographic approach. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 27 Surakarta. Primary data sources were obtained from school principals, vice principals for curriculum, teachers, and students. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The validity of the data was carried out using source triangulation techniques and double checking. Data analysis techniques in this study include data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that: (1) Distance learning planning at SMPN 27 Surakarta includes preparation of learning instruments, preparation of teaching materials, preparation of infrastructure, teacher training, and preparation of implementation schedules; (2) The implementation of distance learning has been running well and smoothly. Implemented using an LMS in the form of Google Classroom and Zoom, and supported by the Whatsapp (WA) application; (3) PJJ control is carried out by carrying out monitoring and evaluation activities; (4) The constraints found were divided into two, namely internal constraints (obstacles in the school) and external constraints (coming from outside the school); (5) The solution to overcoming obstacles is to maximize the teacher's role, increase the diversity of file types and sources of teaching materials, optimize features in Google Classroom, and work with parents to guide children's learning during distance learning implementation. The implication of distance learning management is the need for collaboration between school principals, teachers, students, and parents so that the implementation of distance learning can run well.

Abstract

The university ranking is an achievement indicator based on reputation, especially global reputation. The objectives of this study are (1) To determine the relevance of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and PTKINs’ reputation based on SMS and Webometrics ranking; (2) To find out the correlation between KPI and PTKINs’ Reputation. This study uses mixed methods or integration of quantitative and qualitative research. The research objects were 17 PTKINs. For the analysis technique, it uses person correlation and explorative analysis. The results showed that of 51 KPI criteria, only one was relevant to the reputation of PTKINs based on the SMS ranking. In contrast, there are 13 KPI criteria that fit PTKINs' reputation based on Webometrics ranking. KPI does not correlate with PTKINs’ reputation based on SMS ranking, while KPI correlates with PTKINs’ reputation based on Webometrics ranking. For this reason, a policy is needed to synchronize KPI with WCU standards that have been recognized globally. While the implementation of ranking based on SMS needs to be reviewed because it does not reflect PTKINs' reputation.

Abstract

This research aims to determine how teachers implement the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project in the Independent Curriculum in class V in elementary schools. This research was conducted at Jambi City State Elementary School (SD) 1/IV in the even semester in the academic year of 2022/2023. This research uses a qualitative research methodology with a phenomenological research type. Research data was obtained directly through data collection techniques: observation, interviews, and documentation with the class V homeroom teachers, namely Mrs. S, Mr. AP, Mrs. NEP, Mr. VK, and Mrs. F. After carrying out a series of data collection techniques, the data was then analyzed using the method of Miles and Huberman: reducing data, presenting data, and verifying data. This research shows that in implementing the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students, teachers are guided by the guidebook to develop their ways of teaching them through several stages (2022). In the first stage, teachers understand the project for strengthening the profile of Pancasila students. Next, the teacher designs the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students. Then, the teacher manages the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students. Lastly, the teacher processes the assessment and reports the project results to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students. This research concludes that the fifth-grade teacher at SDN 1/IV Jambi City has successfully implemented the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students. It can be seen in the achievement of learning outcomes. Implementing the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students can be used as an example for other teachers to implement similar learning.
