Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the guided inquiry learning model on student motivation and learning outcomes at Junior high school 2 Piyungan. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type of research in the form of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study were all students in class VII of Junior high school 2 Piyungan with a sample of 64 students. The research instruments used were test instruments in the form of multiple choice questions and non-test instruments in the form of questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in the research is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential data analysis using the Paired Sample t-test and MANOVA test. The research results were analyzed using statistical analysis showing that the average value of learning motivation and learning outcomes for experimental class students was greater than that of the control class. These results are supported by the results of inferential analysis using the MANOVA test which shows a sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05. This means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be said that the guided inquiry learning model influences student motivation and learning outcomes. This research can be used as a reference for further research regarding the influence of the guided inquiry learning model on student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the optimization of students' learning motivation in rectilinear motion material through a scientific approach with the help of simple product. This research began with problems found in one of the junior high schools in Jombang, which had a low level of learning motivation. This research is quantitative research with a one shot case study, namely giving a posttest after students have been given treatment. The subjects of this research were 24 students in 8th grade of junior high school. The data sources in this research were teacher and students. Data from teacher is in the form of observations of learning implementation using a scientific approach. Then the data from students is in the form of posttest results, which are given after learning has been carried out using a scientific approach. The implementation of learning is assessed based on steps from a scientific approach. After obtaining implementation and posttest observation data, the data is then presented as a percentage so that the criteria are known. The results of this research indicate an increase in the learning motivation of 8th grade of junior high school students after implementing science learning with a scientific approach. This is shown in the posttest results of students with an average of 82 and the results of implementing scientific learning with an average of 92.5%. Thus, it can be seen that one way to raise students' learning motivation in science subjects, especially rectilinear movement material, is by using a scientific approach.

Abstract

Electromagnetic waves in physics are waves composed of a magnetic field and an electric field whose propagation does not require an intermediary medium. Magnetic fields with Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) frequencies have a frequency range of 0 to 300 Hz. Electromagnetic waves can propagate without needing a medium, so they are called electromagnetic radiation with various types of electromagnetic waves which are differentiated based on their frequency. Electric fields are easily blocked, so their intensity will decrease if they are blocked by objects. Meanwhile, magnetic fields have characteristics that are not easily blocked so they can penetrate almost all materials. The aim of this conducted research is to examine the influence of Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field exposure on pH in the tempe fermentation process. This research uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) research design to examine the effect of several treatments with a number of replications for several experiments. The research findings indicate that exposure to Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic fields affects the pH in the tempe fermentation process, as depicted by the variations in the tables presented in the research results. Tempe is one of the fermented products that generally uses soybeans as the main raw material that has been fermented and has excellent nutritional content. Fermentation in making tempe occurs due to the activity of the mold Rhyzopus oligosporus which is able to produce phytase enzymes that function to hydrolyze phytic acid into inositol and phosphate.

Abstract

The electromagnetic wave spectrum includes extremely low frequency (ELF) magnetic fields, which have a frequency below 300 Hz and are considered non-radiation radiation. This research examines the effect of ELF magnetic fields on the physical condition of white sticky rice tape food, a traditional fermented food in Indonesia. The research is an experimental study that evaluates the physical condition of food ingredients. The research divides the materials into two groups: the control group, which is not exposed to magnetic fields, and the experimental group, which is exposed to magnetic fields with an intensity of 500 µT. The research uses 20 packs of each ingredient, with 10 packs in each group and 100 gr in each pack. The research tests four modules: login page, teacher’s profile update, image upload, and question creation. The research finds that exposure to an ELF magnetic field affects the aroma and texture of food ingredients. Exposure to ELF magnetic fields can speed up the growth of microorganisms. The research observes that the white sticky rice tape in the experimental group has a softer texture than the control group.

Abstract

This study explores the novel effect of an Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field on the durability of glutinous tape food, a traditional Indonesian food made from fermented glutinous rice. ELF magnetic field is a spectrum of electromagnetic waves with frequencies less than 300 Hz that can influence microbial activity and the chemical changes in food. The study uses a unique experimental method that exposes 20 glutinous tape samples, divided into a control group and an experimental group, each with 10 samples, to an ELF magnetic field of 1,000μT intensity for 45 minutes. The study uses a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) and analyzes the data using the One Way Anova test with LSD and Kruskal-Wallis tests using IBM SPSS Statistics 23. The results show that the experimental group’s glutinous tape samples did not experience spoilage compared to the control group’s. The study proves the ELF magnetic field's effect on the durability of glutinous tape food and provides insights for developing new food preservation techniques. The study demonstrates the innovation and applicability of using the ELF magnetic field for food durability.

Abstract

Education today has led to the importance of 21st century learning. The 21st century directs life to four pillars, namely learning to know, learning to do, learning to be and learning to live together. The four pillars contain specific skills to be developed in the learning process such as communication skills, critical thinking, collaboration, creation and innovation, information literacy, and problem solving. This study reviews the importance of the role of 21st century learning in the inquiry based learning model as a learning model that can solve the challenges of the 21st century. Based on the results of the analysis of the articles on the inquiry based learning model, it was found that the inquiry based learning model is one of the learning models that can be used in the 21st century to guide students to achieve the four skills in the 21st century. The inquiry learning model is a learning model that prepares students in situations to conduct their own experiments so that they can think critically to seek and find answers to a questionable problem. Inquiry allows students to have free space for students to learn, but provides clear boundaries of exploration.
