Abstract

The main problems with soft soils are high moisture content, low soil mineral content, and high compressibility. The use of bacteria from organic materials to form lime compounds as adhesives in soft clay stabilisation has not been done. So this research is intended to improve the soil by stabilising soft clay soil with bacteria in organic materials.The method used in this research is experimental method. Variations of soybean powder mixture (organic material) used were 5 g/L, 10 g/L, 20 g/L, 30 g/L, and 40 g/L with reagent concentration of 1 mol/L. Furthermore, CBR (California Bearing Ratio) test specimens and Unconfine compressive test (UCS) specimens were made to determine the effect of the addition of lime compounds on soil strength. The concentration of 30 g/L produces optimum lime deposits. This is in line with the results of SEM and XRD tests. The UCS test showed that the soil cemented with lime produced the optimum shear strength at 14 days of curing, with a free press of 86.39 kPa. While for a period of more than 14 days the increase in the value of free compressive strength is relatively very small.

Abstract

Waste is the remains of daily human activities and/or from natural processes in solid form, and the source of waste is the initial/first place where the waste is. Based on the chemical properties of waste it is grouped into two types, namely organic waste which consists of organic compounds (carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen and are quickly decomposed/weathered) come from living/dead things. The second type is inorganic waste which consists of non-organic materials (difficult to be decomposed by soil microorganisms) so it is durable and does not decompose easily. This article contains a report on the implementation of community service regarding the application of technology in managing household waste sorting on Jalan Bukit Cemara Indah XI RT 06 RW 13 Meteseh Village, Tembalang District, Semarang City. The aim of this service is to provide guidance by means of mentoring and counseling in managing waste sorting in the community. The method used consists of three stages which include (1) the observation and needs analysis preparation stage, (2) the implementation of the service process, (3) the service finalization and evaluation stage. The result of this service is the implementation of assistance in waste sorting management which is supported by the construction of a waste sorting place for the community on Jalan Bukit Cemara Indah XI RT 06 RW 13, Meteseh Village, Tembalang District, Semarang City.

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka (The Independent Curriculum) gives institutions/teachers the freedom to be creative in providing teaching to students. Teachers' freedom to be creative is facilitated by the government with educational platforms. Apart from that, in digital electronics, there is an application that really supports government programs. With this application, teachers and students can be creative in making interesting learning materials. The name of the application is Canva. It is used to support communicative learning , this community service activity is carried out regarding the use of the Canva application. This training was carried out at Ky Ageng Giri Kindergarten, Girikusumo Village, Banyumeneng, Mranggen, Demak. The training is aimed at kindergarten and PAUD teachers in the Ky Ageng Giri Kindergarten and its others TK surroundings. There were 15 participants who attended the training. The training steps are 1) Introduction of each service participant and audience participant, 2) explanation of the application and benefits of Canva in teaching, 3) recognizing the features in Canva, 4) practice creating various daily teaching and administration needs, 5 ) monitoring the use of Canva in school activities. The results of the training show that the participants can use this application to create posters according to the needs of each school. They can use all the elements contained in the application. Using this application requires a data package, therefore it is recommended that users first check data availability before working. Careful download of Free Canva App is also recommended because there are prepaid application.

Abstract

Construction prioritizes the strength of concrete without thinking about the negative impact on the environment. The cement industry is estimated to contribute 5-7% of CO2 gas emissions in the world. On the other hand, Indonesia is also faced with environmental problems caused by various industrial waste. From this problem an innovation emerged, namely ABUTA (husk ash and brick ash). The aim of this innovation is to create a concrete innovation using Abuta Waste (Rice Husk Ash, and Brick Powder). For the manufacture of economical, environmentally friendly concrete to reduce the negative impacts caused by excessive use of cement and reduce industrial waste in Indonesia. In writing this proposal the author used the experimental writing method and data collection method. The concrete innovation applied is concrete with a mixture of variations in the composition of rice husk ash powder and red brick powder of 10% of the cement composition in conventional concrete so that it is more economical and environmentally friendly. In this study, the ACI (American Concrete Institute) mix design method was used with the required design quality of 30 MPa. It is hoped that this innovation can become an environmentally friendly concrete innovation to reduce the negative impacts of excessive cement use and reduce industrial waste in Indonesia. Based on the mix design, the proportion of ash mixture (rice husk ash and brick powder) is 1:1. Meanwhile, the ratio of the amount of ash mixture to cement is 10%: 90%. The compressive strength of concrete with a 0% Abuta mix variation (7 days old) was 19.5, while the concrete innovation with a 10% Abuta mix variation (7 days old) was 15.70 Mpa. This means that the 10% mixture reduces the compressive strength value by 46.28% below the 0% abuta mixture variation. Using a mixture of 10% ash (rice husk ash and brick powder) in innovative concrete can reduce production costs by IDR. 76,700/m ³. Based on the materials obtained in this manufacture, it can be concluded that to obtain optimal compressive strength, better quality materials are needed. The application of concrete can be applied in casting work floors and non-structural construction work such as buildings that require general load power such as housing, sculpture, home interiors and others.

Abstract

Following the flash flood in Bahorok in 2003, concerns about potential similar disasters in the future have been on the rise among both the community and the government. However, economic demands in the vicinity of the affected area have led the community to continue utilizing the riverbanks for building purposes, particularly for nature tourism. This land use has resulted in the narrowing of the river, leading to floods and landslides. Therefore, the less skilled construction workers, who are partners in this initiative, require assistance from the proposing team to provide training in building construction, especially in landslide-prone areas. This training is expected to be a solution to address the issue. Through the exchange of ideas with the proposing team, the partners can enhance their understanding of anticipating building damages due to errors in construction methods. After the training, the community will have a guide for planning and constructing buildings in landslide-prone areas, creating a safe and comfortable environment for both the local residents and tourists visiting Bukit Lawang.

Abstract

Vehicles that park on the road cause traffic jams and obstruct traffic flow as well as reducing the level of road service. The ability of a road to provide good and maximum traffic services is closely related to the capacity of the road section. Apart from road capacity, the performance of a road is also closely related to traffic performance. This method is used to analyze the condition of road sections. In the results of road performance analysis by calculating the level of road service, the V/C Ratio value is obtained which will indicate the level of service. Research in a traffic flow movement on a highway there are three main variables used to describe the characteristics of traffic flow , namely speed, volume and density. On the Jl. Sipodang has a capacity of 1638,291 pcu/hour and the average volume on this road is 741.79 pcu/hour, and has a degree of saturation of 0.45 where this figure is in service level C with the characteristics of stable flow, but speed and vehicle motion is controlled, the driver is limited in choosing speed. On the Jl. Gondang Raya has a capacity of 1486,285 pcu/hour and the average volume on this road is 1535.2 pcu/hour, and has a degree of saturation of 1.03 where this figure is at service level E with characteristics of obstructed flow, low speed, volume above capacity, traffic jams often occur for quite a long time. On the Jl. Soeparto from the west has a capacity of 2925.52 pcu/hour and the average volume on this road is 1697.09 pcu/hour, and has a degree of saturation of 0.58 where this figure is at service level C with the characteristics of stable flow, but the speed and motion of the vehicle are controlled, the driver is limited in choosing the speed. On the Jl. Soeparto from the west has a capacity of 2925.52 pcu/hour and the average volume on this road is 1506,171 pcu/hour, and has a degree of saturation of 0.51 where this figure is at service level C with characteristics of stable flow. , but the speed and motion of the vehicle are controlled, the driver is limited in choosing the speed.

Abstract

SMKN 5 Surakarta students encountered a challenge during the initial assessment of the civil construction implementation, particularly concerning field soil testing. This challenge was exacerbated by the absence of soil mechanics courses in the curriculum. While the students possessed a fundamental grasp of civil engineering competencies, they faced difficulties in various aspects, with field soil testing being a notable area of concern. To address these competency gaps and enhance the vocational school curriculum, training sessions were conducted to educate students on the practical application of soil tests in the field. The specific training covered sand cone and DCP tests. According to the questionnaire results, post-training, over 50% of SMKN 5 Surakarta students exhibited a clear understanding of how to perform field tests using DCP, Sand Cone, and Speedy Moisture test equipment, along with the ability to analyze the resulting test data. The effectiveness of direct training and intensive mentoring was evident in facilitating students' comprehension of the provided material. Notably, 90% of the students affirmed that the training was easily comprehensible.

Abstract

The increase in the number of vehicles and economic growth in the city of Semarang puts significant pressure on road infrastructure. So it is necessary to prioritize maintenance on several road sections. This research uses the Treatment Priority Index (TPI) approach to identify road repair priorities in Tembalang District, Semarang City. Data on road conditions and daily traffic volume are variables in the TPI analysis and the data is analyzed using the Provincial District Road Management System (PKRMS). The results of the TPI analysis obtained road sections with critical conditions, especially Telumpak (TPI: 26.2) and Salak (TPI: 25.7). These sections require immediate repairs to ensure the safety and comfort of road users. This research provides a basis for information for policy makers to allocate resources efficiently, ensure sustainable road infrastructure, and support effective mobility in Semarang City, especially in Tembalang District.

Abstract

Political events such as elections certainly have an impact on economic conditions, more specifically on the condition of the Indonesian sharia capital market. This research aims to analyze the impact of the election on the Indonesian sharia capital market in 2019. The quantitative approach used in this research includes the event study method and is followed by Wilcoxon test analysis. The data used in this research is JII share trading volume data from January to July 2019 on a daily basis as well as related research. JII share trading volume data will be observed and divided into: periods before observation, observation, and after observation. The research results show that there is a significant difference in the trading volume of JII shares between the periods before and after the observation, so it can be concluded that the election had an impact on the Indonesian sharia capital market. The recommendation for the government is to be able to create a safe and transparent election atmosphere considering that the implementation of the election will be the object of investor observation. Investor responses as a result of these observations will certainly influence macro economic conditions.
