Abstract

Legal pluralism lives in the midst of Indonesian society to this day, this condition is because Indonesian society still upholds customary norms and religious norms. This diversity has an impact on the benchmark for a person's maturity to enter into marriage. Each region has a different interpretation of the age and conditions for marriage. This research aims to see the urgency of legal pluralism to address the phenomenon of early marriage that still occurs due to various aspects of life. This research uses normative juridical method, which is a research method of principles and theories with data obtained from various data in the form of books, journals, documents, and relevant information to support the scientificity of this research. The results of this study are, 1) The high rate of early marriage is caused by hereditary conditions, low education, passive parents, and the influence of the local environment. 2) The urgency of legal pluralism is very important to address this phenomenon, because Indonesia is filled with three pillars of law, custom, religion, and law. In order to reach an agreement, legal pluralism is enforced.

Abstract

This article specifically examines the dynamics and challenges of Islamic moderatism in Malaysia in the socio-political landscape. This is an important issue to be explored further, because lately moderation and radicalization in Islamic discourse have not only affected political stability but also social conditions in plural Malaysia. The writing of this article uses qualitative methods in the process of data collection and analysis. By using a deductive approach by understanding the arguments and opinions of academics and credible and academically tested literature sources, it becomes the main reference in the preparation of this paper. The result is that the Malaysian government promotes moderate Islam through state initiatives in instilling moderate Islamic values such as (Islam hadhari, wasatiyah, and rahmatan-lil-‘alamin). The societal response to radicalism and liberalism in Malaysia involves various government and NGO initiatives, including public education, talk shows, publications and seminars. These efforts aim to monitor and reduce the influence of liberal Islam, which is perceived as a threat. The existence of social media as a stream of technological development also plays an important role in shaping moderate Islamic discourse in Malaysia, serving as a platform for the dissemination of moderate views and countering extremist narratives. The involvement of other elements such as the role of Islamic parties in shaping moderate policies in Malaysia is significant in understanding and adapting to Malaysia's complex political dynamics. They strive to balance Islamic principles with democratic values, thus promoting a more moderate political discourse.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of Qailulah—a short midday nap encouraged in Islamic teachings—from the perspective of Islamic neuroscience, and analyze its implications for students’ mental and cognitive health. Using a qualitative literature review method, this research collected data from Islamic texts and contemporary neuroscience studies to identify overlapping insights and establish theoretical integration. A descriptive-comparative analysis was employed to examine the relevance of Qailulah to the cognitive performance and psychological well-being of students. The findings reveal that Qailulah not only holds spiritual significance in Islam but also provides scientifically measurable benefits. Neuroscientific evidence shows that short naps can enhance memory consolidation, reduce cortisol levels, improve mood regulation, and strengthen executive brain functions such as attention, emotional control, and decision-making. From an educational standpoint, Qailulah can be adopted as a holistic intervention to mitigate stress, prevent academic burnout, and enhance students’ learning efficiency. The study concludes that integrating Qailulah into modern educational practices can foster balanced student development by aligning spiritual practices with scientific understanding.

Abstract

Islamic education is undergoing a significant transformation due to rapid technological advancements and the learning preferences of Generation Z. Traditional methods such as memorization, halaqah, and talaqqi remain fundamental, yet digitalization is becoming increasingly necessary to maintain engagement and relevance. This study aims to explore the integration of artificial intelligence and gamification into Islamic education, particularly in madrasahs, Islamic boarding schools, and modern Islamic schools in Bogor. Using a mixed methods approach, qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations, while quantitative data were gathered from surveys involving students, educators, and parents. The findings reveal that while modern Islamic schools have embraced digital learning, madrasahs and Islamic boarding schools face challenges in digital adoption due to resistance from educators, lack of infrastructure, and concerns over maintaining traditional values. Statistical analysis indicates no significant correlation between digital learning preferences and students’ understanding of Islamic values, highlighting the need for a structured approach to digital integration. This study contributes to the field by proposing a hybrid learning model that combines traditional pedagogies with AI-driven personalized learning and interactive gamification techniques. While offering a framework for digital transformation in Islamic education, this study acknowledges limitations, including its focus on a single geographic region and the need for further research on the long-term effects of AI in religious education. Moving forward, strategic policies, educator training, and infrastructure development are essential to ensure that digitalization enhances, rather than compromises, the integrity of Islamic education.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has significantly impacted Generation Z, particularly in relation to self-regulation and academic performance. This generation faces challenges in managing stress, attention, and emotions, often exacerbated by the overuse of social media and digital devices. The aim of this study was to explore the potential of Islamic mindfulness, incorporating practices such as dhikr and tafakur, in improving self-regulation and academic performance among high school students in Indonesia. This quasi-experimental research utilized a pretest-posttest control group design, involving 300 students from six high schools in Bogor. The experimental group received an 8-week intervention focusing on Islamic mindfulness techniques, while the control group continued their regular academic activities. Self-regulation and academic performance were measured using standardized questionnaires and academic tests before and after the intervention. The results revealed that students in the experimental group showed significant improvements in both self-regulation and academic performance, in contrast to the control group. This study contributes to the field of Islamic education by providing evidence for the effectiveness of Islamic mindfulness in fostering better emotional regulation, focus, and academic outcomes in the digital age. It offers practical solutions for integrating mindfulness into the educational curriculum, supporting the mental well-being and academic success of Generation Z students in Islamic educational settings.

Abstract

The research investigates the impact of integrated Islamic classroom management on improving the quality of education in Islamic schools. The primary purpose of this study is to explore how a combination of academic discipline and Islamic values in classroom management contributes to student engagement and character development. This qualitative research applies a case study approach, focusing on one Islamic school, SMPS IT Al Ishlah Cibinong, using interviews, observations, and documentation for data collection. The results demonstrate that integrating Islamic values such as honesty, responsibility, and discipline into the classroom has significantly enhanced student behavior and motivation, while also fostering a more conducive learning environment. Furthermore, the study reveals that the synergy between the national curriculum and Islamic teachings creates a holistic educational experience, supporting both academic achievement and spiritual development. Although the research identifies challenges, such as balancing strict discipline with flexibility in nurturing student character, it highlights the significant positive impact of this integrated approach. The study contributes to the field by providing a clearer understanding of how Islamic classroom management can be applied effectively, suggesting that further teacher training and consistent implementation are necessary to overcome challenges. This research offers practical insights for educators seeking to harmonize academic and spiritual education in Islamic schools, ensuring comprehensive student growth.

Abstract

The learning process of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level is often faced with the challenge of low student engagement and the lack of learning media that is in accordance with the developmental characteristics of early grade students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Many students have difficulty understanding abstract material because the learning approach is less interactive and monotonous. This study aims to explore the optimization of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning through the use of Sort and Paste Worksheet developed with the Dick and Carey learning design model and activated in a cooperative learning strategy of Think-Pair-Share type. This collaboration between media and methods is designed to improve the competence of grade 2 students at MI Sayyid Abdurrahman I. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research method to investigate the implementation of the media in the learning process. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, direct observation of learning activities in the classroom, as well as analysis of documents and student work. The results showed that the use of Sort and Paste Worksheet significantly improved students' learning experience through increased active engagement, retention of material understanding, and development of fine motor skills. In addition, this method also aroused students' enthusiasm for PAI subjects, making them more interesting and contextualized. Thus, this study concludes that integrating Sort and Paste Worksheet into cooperative learning strategies greatly facilitates the implementation of the scientific approach through the stages of observing, questioning, trying, reasoning, and is effective for optimizing PAI learning, especially in building a strong religious foundation for early grade students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

In recent decades, the discourse on the relationship between religion and science has increasingly attracted the attention of scholars, particularly philosophers, scientists, and theologians. Religion and science are often perceived as distinct entities with roles and characteristics. This perspective has laid the groundwork for numerous studies exploring the interrelation between the two. This research aims to conduct a comparative analysis of arguments concerning religion and science from an Islamic perspective. The study uses a qualitative method through library research to draw upon various books and scholarly articles as its primary data sources. A historical and philosophical approach is adopted to examine the intersection of religion and science within Islamic intellectual thought. The data are analyzed using content analysis, involving critical interpretation of written materials, and supplemented by a comparative study of relevant arguments. The findings indicate that religion and science can coexist harmoniously without necessarily leading to conflict or contradiction. Throughout history, various efforts have been made to integrate these two domains, although some perspectives continue to emphasize their separation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of sunnah qailulah (napping) after learning activities at Pondok Pesantren Modern Ar-Rasyid Pinang Awan, as well as analysing its relevance to the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, the benefits felt by the students, and the obstacles in its implementation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach using field research methods and literature review. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and ustadzah, as well as direct observation of students' daily activities. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing using the interactive analysis model by Miles and Huberman. The results showed that sunnah qailulah has become a mandatory routine activity in the pesantren environment as a form of practicing hadith values in the lives of students. Most of the santri consistently perform qailulah (70-90%) and experience significant benefits such as increased learning concentration, physical recovery after morning activities, ease in getting up at night for tahajud, and increased learning effectiveness during the day. The qualitative data collected also showed that qailulah has a positive impact on students' health and productivity. However, obstacles such as lack of awareness among some students and weak supervision were still found. Solutions implemented include educational sanctions and strengthened supervision by caregivers and heads of dormitories. This study shows that sunnah qailulah, if implemented with discipline, can contribute to the spiritual, academic, and health of santri.
