Abstract

Varicose veins, apart from affecting daily activities such as walking, also impact aesthetics. Varicose veins are dilated veins characterized by the bulging of blood vessels. In Europe, varicose veins are experienced by 50% of the population, while in Indonesia, it is around 25-30% of the population. Although varicose veins have a low mortality rate, the discomfort, swelling, and hyperpigmentation they cause can progress to more complex health problems. This study aims to determine the risk factors for lower limbs varicose veins in blue-collar workers at the Glodok Makmur shopping centre Jakarta. A case-control design was used in this research. A total of 40 cases, namely male workers with lower limb varicose veins, and 40 controls, namely male workers without lower leg varicose veins, were selected using purposive sampling. Data from respondents were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi Square test with a significance of ? = 0.05. From the results of the analysis, it was found that lower limbs varicose veins had a significant relationship with high BMI (OR = 4.667, 95% CI = 1.507-14.455), dominant working position standing (OR = 7.071, 95% CI = 2.519-19.850), smoking habits (OR = 0.648, 95% CI = 0.503-3.018), and family history of varicose veins (OR = 6.000, 95% CI = 2.207-16.313). The results of this study indicate that high BMI, dominant working position standing, smoking habit, and family history of varicose veins are potential risk factors for the occurrence of lower leg varicose veins in blue-collar workers at the Glodok Makmur shopping centre Jakarta.

Abstract

Cases of sexual violence in Indonesia based on the Annual Records of Komnas Perempuan are still quite high. One form of sexual violence is rape. The act of rape can be proven from the results of a physical examination to look for evidence in the form of violence and sexual intercourse. In addition to physical examination, mental health examination is also carried out to see the impact of the incident experienced by the victim. This study aims to find out what are the findings on physical and mental examinations of female victims of sexual crimes. This study used a descriptive method with a cross-sectional research design and used total sampling techniques as a sampling technique. The results of this study from 50 victims found that the age group that experienced the most sexual crimes was late adolescence (34.00%). The findings in victims were dominated by only signs of sexual intercourse (48.00%). The location of the injuries experienced by the most victims was found to be in the genital area only, which was as much as (52.00%) with the most types of genital injuries being lacerations (54.00%). The most mental disorders experienced by victims are in the form of only depression (4.00%). Only (16.00%) victims found their court decision data at the Denpasar District Court. It can be concluded from this study that the findings of penetration marks in the form of injuries to the victim's genitals alone dominate, namely as many as (70.00%), only (4.00%) victims who have penetration marks accompanied by ejaculatory marks. The genital injuries suffered by the victims (54.00%) were lacerations. Mental disorders found in victims in the form of depression as much as (4.00%), while victims without findings of mental disorders as much as (86.00%).

Abstract

This research aims to improve the understanding and behavior of teenagers regarding the implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Practices (PHBS) by using the snakes and ladders game as a supporting tool. The area, especially in Ogan Ilir Regency, especially Pipa Putih Village, has been chosen as a focus for reducing the stunting rate, which in 2022 will reach 24.9%. One of the factors that has been identified as a cause of stunting is an unclean environment, this is in line with previous research which emphasizes the importance of PHBS. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with one group as the research subject. The snakes and ladders game was chosen as an intervention tool to increase teenagers' understanding and attitudes towards PHBS. The study results showed a significant increase in adolescents' understanding after the intervention, although not statistically significant in attitudes. The snakes and ladders game is recognized as an effective tool in increasing teenagers' knowledge about PHBS, in line with the efforts of the government and related institutions to improve public health. The use of games as a medium in health education promises to make learning more enjoyable and increase learning motivation. It is hoped that this research can become a basis for developing a wider intervention program to improve PHBS in society, especially in groups of teenagers who have the potential to be agents of change. Abstract

ABSTRACT Bronchial asthma is one of the chronic respiratory diseases caused by the narrowing of the airways due to hypersensitivity reactions in the bronchi, resulting in symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath. When asthma patients experience breathlessness, there is an increase in respiratory frequency and a decrease in oxygen saturation. If not promptly treated, it can lead to oxygen deficiency (hypoxia), which can ultimately result in death. The management of bronchial asthma is typically done with pharmacological therapy aimed at achieving a normal lifestyle, avoiding attacks, and restoring optimal lung function. However, it has not shown significant improvement in preventing bronchial asthma. Non-pharmacological treatment methods, such as Buteyko breathing technique, are expected to complement pharmacological treatment in reducing the frequency of asthma attacks (exacerbations). The Buteyko breathing technique has shown an increase in peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) values and a decrease in bronchial asthma score values. The objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the Buteyko breathing technique in controlling bronchial asthma in the Padang Health Center area. Before the intervention, the average bronchial asthma control was 15.44, with a standard deviation of 2.279, and a minimum control of 11 and a maximum of 19. After the intervention, the average control increased to 21.69, with a standard deviation of 2.387, and a minimum control of 16 and a maximum of 25. Similarly, bronchial asthma control in the control group showed an increase from 16.19 to 15.38 after the intervention. Statistical tests using independent t-tests showed a significant influence of the Buteyko breathing technique on bronchial asthma control, with a p-value of 0.000 (p?0.05). This indicates that the Buteyko breathing technique has a significant impact on improving bronchial asthma control. Therefore, this research provides evidence that the Buteyko breathing technique can be a valuable addition to the treatment of bronchial asthma, helping patients achieve better control of their condition and reducing the risk of asthma attacks.
