Abstract

Tarakan administratively is a city which has a fairly wide coastal area both land and sea which is categorized ecologically as an island that has a high level of natural resources. The magnitude of this potential has a significant impact on large-scale exploitation to meet economic needs by not referring to environmental sustainability in a sustainable manner such as the presence of waste due to fisheries or community life activities on the coast. The purpose of this research is to study the analysis of international coastal cleanup (ICC) in the Pantai Amal Baru of Tarakan city. The main research results in the activities of the ICC on the Amal Baru beach found 3 different types of waste, namely the type of waste from seaweed cultivation at 608 kg with a percentage of 58.29%; types of waste from residents around the New charity beach by 405 kg with a percentage of 38.83%; the type of waste from nature is 30 kg with a percentage of 2.88%.

Abstract

Seaweed is one of the fisheries commodities that are widely cultivated in Indonesia. Seaweed cultivation (Kappaphycus alvarezii) in the amal baru Coast of Tarakan City is carried out traditionally using the longline method so that the yield of seaweed (K. alvarezii) depends on natural conditions. One effort that can be done to optimize land use is vertical land use. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of depth on the growth of seaweed production and color in the Amal Coast waters. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. This research was conducted for 21 days in the waters of the Amal Coast of Tarakan City. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and BNT follow-up tests. The test results showed that seaweed growth was significantly different between treatments 10 and 30 cm. The highest relative growth was in the 10 cm treatment of 109.22% and the lowest was 39.38%. The highest specific growth rate was in the 10 cm treatment of 3.56% / day and the lowest was 1.58% / day. The highest mean of seaweed production at 10 cm treatment was 36.407 g / m and the lowest was 13.130 g / m. The difference in growth is greatly influenced by the intensity of the light, the brightness of the waters, and the suspended solids. The color of the talus appears brighter at low depths compared to high depths. The intensity of light and nutrients affect the concentration of seaweed pigments.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on society, such as job losses, rising staples, and economic hardship. Prices of food needs that continue to increase and are not affordable have resulted in food problems, one of which is protein. One of the high-quality protein is protein from fish. Fish as a fishery commodity that is relatively easy to cultivate on a large industrial scale and household scale for food self-sufficiency is catfish (Clarias sp). The purpose of this activity is to add insight and knowledge of the community about budikdamber for food self-sufficiency. The method of implementing community service activities in Kampung Six is carried out by counseling and training methods on Budikdamber. In this training activity, a bucket with 40 liters of water and 20 catfish seeds was used. Maintenance was carried out for 60 days with ad satiation feeding three times a day. Observations were made on growth, survival and water quality. The results of the activity found that 93% of the community partners had understood about Budikdamber. Budikdamber maintenance by partner communities gets an absolute weight growth value of catfish of 14 g, catfish survival value of 75%, and 1 bunch of kale per bucket. Based on the results of this activity, it is hoped that there will be the provision of special land for Budikdamber as an example for people who want to develop in their respective yards.
