Abstract

Household refrigeration machines (fridges) are household appliances that are widely used in families in Indonesia. However, the use of working fluids still uses this type of working fluid which causes thinning of the ozone layer and global warming. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the effect of evaporation temperature on work coefficient and exergy efficiency by using R600a working fluid as an environmentally friendly fluid. This research uses experimental and simulation methods using Cooltols software. The research results show that increasing the evaporation temperature has an impact on increasing the work coefficient, the heat absorbed by the evaporator but reducing the compressor power, and the heat released by the condenser. The greatest increase in exergy destruction is found in the evaporator, where exergy efficiency increases. So R600a is very suitable for use in refrigerators.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of media variations of 90% kusambi charcoal and 10% shellfish, 90% kusambi charcoal and 10% rice husks, and 90% rice husks and 10% shells. Kusambi charcoal 90% and 10% rice husk, 90% rice husk and 10% shellfish. For the microstructure and hardness of steel AISI 1045, the material used in this research is medium carbon steel, the process of making the specimen is done by cutting it into several parts. The cutting is done to make it easier to place the specimens in the carburizing box then 90% kusambi charcoal mixed with 10% shellfish, 90% kusambi charcoal mixed with 10% rice husks, and 90% rice husks mixed with 10% clamshells. The specimens were subjected to a Carburizing treatment at a temperature of 9500C then a Rockwell hardness test and microstructure testing were carried out. From this study, it can be concluded that the highest average hardness value in the mixture of 90% Kusambi charcoal Carburizer and 10% shellfish was obtained at 39.25 HRC and the material hardness without treatment was 17.08 HRC. From the observation of the microstructure, the surface hardening occurs due to carbon diffusion into medium carbon steel

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of media variations of 90% kusambi charcoal and 10% Plastic is a component that is difficult to separate from everyday human activities because of the various advantages it has. The more people consume, the more plastic waste they produce. To overcome this, of course, a way is needed to process the plastic waste into things that are more useful and also have benefits for nature, one way is by recycling the plastic waste into fuel, namely fuel in the form of oil. The benefit of this research is to produce fuel oil products from Polypropylene (PP) plastic waste as an alternative energy source by utilizing pyrolysis technology. Pyrolysis is a process for converting Polypropylene (PP) plastic waste into liquid fuel. The end result of this research is in the form of detailed images of the tool, the design of the tool, and the results of the testing process on the tool in the form of data on the quantity of oil in each test

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the mass fraction of wheat flour (Triticum aestivum L) on the results of porous hydroxyapatite with snail shell precursors (Lissachatina fulica). The method used in this research is the Sol-Gel method with a sintering temperature of 1000°C and a sintering time of 5 hours with a mass fraction between wheat flour (Triticum aestivum L) and snail shell powder (Lissachatina fulica) of 60%, 50%, 40%, and 100%. Density, porosity and SEM characterization tests were used in this study to determine the density value, porosity value, and pore size of the porous hydroxyapatite sample. In this density test using Archimedes' law, it shows that the four samples (A1 + B1, A2 + B2, A3 + B3, and A4) have density values of 0.145 g/cm3, 0.15 g/cm3, 0.1967 g/cm3, and 0.221 g/cm3. In porosity testing, the three samples with mass fractions between snail shell powder and wheat flour will be compared with one pure sample of only snail shell, which obtained porosity values of 34.39%, 32.13%, and 11%. Finally, the SEM characterization found that the pore size of the porous hydroxyapatite sample has a size range from 34.5228 µm - 71.7012 µm.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effect of temperature and oven time on the results of the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) test on Timorese cow bones. Beef bones from East Nusa Tenggara, which are rich in calcium and phosphorus, are processed through cleaning, boiling, and soaking H2O2 before calcining at various temperatures (100°C, 200°C, 300°C) and duration (1 and 2 hours). The FTIR results showed significant changes in the chemical structure of the bones, with variations in temperature and baking time affecting the quality and characteristics of the bones. The study concluded that the precise setting of the ovening parameters can improve the quality of beef bone-based products, such as hydroxyapatite.

Abstract

Abstrak: Level kapasitas petani yang rendah merupakan alasan kenapa produktivitas usaha pertanian juga sangat rendah. Tujuan pelaksanaan Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat tahun 2024 dalam skema pemberdayaan berbasis wilayah dengan ruang lingkup pemberdayaan desa binaan, yakni peningkatan level dan produktivitas petani melalui program pengembangan pertanian terpadu sistem cerdas (smart farming) dengan energi hijau menuju kemandirian pangan sekaligus kapasitas petani secara ekonomi. Program desa binaan bagi warga di Desa Pukdale, Kecamatan Kupang Timur, Kabupaten Kupang Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur, melalui kerjsama antara Universitas Nusa Cendana, Universitas Katolik Widya Mandira Kupang, Pemerintah desa Pukdale, Mitra Ssaran (Kelompok Tani Fajar 1 dengan 25 anggota dan Kelompok Tani Murni dengan 20 anggota). Metode kegiatan meliputi wawancara dan FGD sekaligus dilakukan pembagian angket untuk survei kemampuan petani sebelum dan sesudah pelaksanaan kegiatan. Selain itu, dilakukan ceramah dan simulasi terkait teknologi yang diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan petani melalui pendampingan dan pelatihan serta aplikasi teknologi pertanian di Lokasi Mitra Sasaran. Kegiatan ini juga melibatkan 9 orang mahasiswa MBKM (merdeka belajar kampus merdeka) dalam kegiatan magang di Lokasi Mitra Sasaran selama kurang lebih 5 (lima) bulan terhitung mulai Agustus sampai dengan Desember 2024. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah produk teknologi sistem pertanian terpadu, peningkatan level dan kapasitas petani dengan retata 81,15%.Abstract: The low level of farmer capacity is the reason why agricultural business productivity is also very low. The aim of implementing Community Service Activities in 2024 in a region-based empowerment scheme with the scope of empowering assisted villages, namely increasing the level and productivity of farmers through an integrated agricultural development program with smart systems (smart farming) with green energy towards food independence as well as the economic capacity of farmers. Assisted village program for residents in Pukdale Village, East Kupang District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, through collaboration between Nusa Cendana University, Widya Mandira Kupang Catholic University, Pukdale village government, Target Partners (Fajar Farmers Group 1 with 25 members and Murni Farmers Group with 20 members). Activity methods include interviews and FGDs as well as distributing questionnaires to survey farmers' abilities before and after implementing the activities. Apart from that, lectures and simulations were held regarding the technology applied to improve farmers' abilities through mentoring and training as well as the application of agricultural technology at the Target Partner Locations. This activity also involved 9 MBKM (free learning independent campus) students in internship activities at Target Partner Locations for approximately 5 (five) months starting from August to December 2024. The results of this activity were integrated agricultural system technology products, increasing the level and capacity of farmers with an average of 81.15%.

Abstract

Tesis ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun mesin pencacah daging ikan dengan menggunakan teknik manufaktur yang efisien. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan mesin pencacah daging ikan yang efektif, efisien dan mudah digunakan dalam pengolahan daging ikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimental dengan tahapan perancangan mesin, pembuatan prototipe, pengujian dan evaluasi. Perancangan mesin ini dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan faktor ergonomi, keamanan dan efisiensi produksi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa mesin pencacah daging ikan yang dirancang memiliki efisiensi tinggi dan dapat menghasilkan daging ikan yang bersih dan berkualitas tinggi. Mesin ini juga mudah dioperasikan dan dirawat. Kesimpulannya, mesin pencacah daging ikan yang dirancang dengan menggunakan teknik produksi yang efisien dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dalam pengolahan daging ikan. Mesin ini dapat digunakan oleh usaha kecil dan menengah untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas produksi mereka. Kata kunci: Mesin pencacah ikan

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the changes in chemical composition and phase of ale-ale shells through X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) tests with variations in temperature and oven time. Ale-ale shell samples obtained from Oesapa Beach, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, were processed through the preparation, heating, and characterization stages using XRD. Testing was carried out at temperatures of 500°C and 700°C with variations in heating time of 2, 4, and 6 hours. The results of the XRD test showed phase changes in samples heated at a temperature of 500°C, where in samples with a time of 6 hours decomposition occurred into CaO with a purity level of 53.4%. At a temperature of 700°C, samples heated for 2 hours showed a purity of 53.3%, and at 6 hours the purity reached 48.2%. All samples showed diffraction peaks indicating 100% calcite content. These results provide an understanding of the changes in the crystal structure and purity of ale-ale shell material, which can be used in biomaterial applications, especially for bone graft materials.

Abstract

In this increasingly developing era, the manufacturing industry is experiencing very rapid development. The need for materials in this field is also increasing. Materials with certain characteristics such as strength, toughness, and other mechanical properties according to needs are highly sought after. Composite is a material formed from a combination of two or more constituent materials through a non-homogeneous mixture, where the mechanical properties of each constituent material are different, the use of composite materials properly and efficiently requires extensive knowledge of their mechanical properties. While the use of ijuk is still limited to household needs, even exported in raw material conditions, therefore the use of ijuk as a basic material for composites is a new hope for utilizing ijuk into a commodity that has higher added value. The results of the study on the Testing of Ijuk Fiber Mechanics Pre Treatmeat Naoh With Polyester Matrix Material concluded that concentration affects the bending strength of 9.44 N / mm2 and deflection of 37.94 mm of ijuk fiber with the best results at a concentration with a soaking time of 60 minutes.

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pendapatan petani ikan dengan mereduksi biaya harian untuk kebutuhan pelet ikan dengan cara memproduksi sendiri pelet untuk kebutuhan pakan harian. Harga pellet ikan dipasaran Kupang NTT adalah Rp. 10.000,-/kg, sedangkan apabila di produksi sendiri biaya seluruh bahan baku untuk menghasilkan setiap kg pellet dengan kualitas yang lebih baik hanya setara Rp. 2000,-/kg. Dengan kata lain biaya produksi bisa direduksi hingga 500%. Transfer teknologi berupa pelatihan dan pembuatan mesin pellet ikan yang akan dibuat bersama mitra merupakan solusi tepat untuk menjawab permasalahan mitra dalam mereduksi pengeluaran untuk kebutuhan pakan harian. Masalah yang dihadapi mitra dalam hal pemasaran maupun promosi karena kurangnya penguasaan IPTEK dan ilmu komputer, diatasi dengan melatih mitra untuk menguasai komputer, mitra juga dilatih untuk membuat brosur untuk mempromosikan usahanya melalui pemanfaatan internet agar usahanya bisanya lebih dikenal secara luas.
