Abstract

Oxyacetylene Generator available in commercially has a price which is more expensive and has a complicated construction workings. Therefore it is necessary Oxyacetylene generator with a more simple construction made of materials that are easily obtainable and has a good safety factor and easy to operate. Oxyacetylene gas formation process which is not proportional to the strength of the materials used can result in damage of occurrence, because it needs to be calculated strength of the construction of the generator Oxyacetylene. This research used steel pipe with a diameter of 141.322 mm and a thickness of 9.7 mm and an overall length of 1510 mm. The maximum gas pressure that occurs Oxyacetylene 20.25 with the average voltage in the Oxyacetylene generator amounted to 60.65 N / m2. Test results indicate that the generator design asitelin result has been able to work well. From the test data showed that the length of the door frame welding Oxyacetylene generator is 93.31, while the welding length is 360 mm designed it can be said safely against the forces acting due to the pressure and stress that occurs in the Oxyacetylene generator still under stress and pressure of the material permits. With a force that will decide the generator cover amounting to 317,380.39 N Oxyacetylene declared safe to welding because σi = 125 N / mm2 greater than τ = 101.79 N / mm2. While the force will decide on the lintel of 317,380.39 N Oxyacetylene generator is declared safe to welding because σi = 125 N / mm2 greater than τ = 124.6 N / mm2.

corrosion rate of cylinder tube materials. The temperature variations determined by the specimen were 200ºC, 250ºC and 300ºC. The specimens were subjected to corrosion treatment with Calcium Carbide (Carbide) corrosion media, then tested. The results showed that the lowest corrosion rate was the treatment specimen, namely 48.57142 mg/cm2 day, while the specimen with the highest rate was the specimen with the provisions of 70.47619 mg/cm2 day. For the tensile test, the highest value of fracture tensile stress (σp) was the untreated specimen of 243.35 MPa, while the lowest value of fracture stress (σp) was the specimen with a temperature of 300oC of 156,786 Mpa, the highest value of fracture tensile strain (ɛp) was the specimen with 300oC of 0.166875%, while the lowest value of fracture tensile strain (ɛp) is the specimen with the provision of 250 °C of 0.12025%, the highest modulus of elasticity is the specimen with the 200oC requirement of 1569.2026 MPa, while the lowest modulus of elasticity is the specimen with 300 °C of 939.5415 MPa

Abstract

To build a building, it is very important to pay attention to occupational health and safety (K3) for its residents. At the Nusa Cendana University Rectorate Building, the availability of a fire prevention and control system is very important. The purpose of this study was to analyze the extent of the fire prevention and control system in the Rectorate Building, University of Nusa Cendana. The fire hazard prevention systems analyzed are Fire Alarm, Fire Detector, Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR), Automatic Sprinklers, Fire Hydrants, Upright Pipe Systems, Water Supply Systems, Fire Pumps. The fire hazard management systems analyzed are the Fire Management Organization, Fire Emergency Action Procedures, and Fire Emergency Action Education and Training. The regulations that are used as a comparison with conditions in the field are the Minister of Public Works Regulation Number 26 / PRT / M / 2008, Number 20 / PRT / M / 2009, and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 10, 13, 14, 72, 101, 251. Based on the results of the analysis of the fire prevention and control system at the Rectorate Building of the University of Nusa Cendana, it is known that there are systems that are by accordance with the applicable regulations and there are also systems that are not by accordance with the applicable regulations. For this reason, the management of the Rectorate Building at the University of Nusa Cendana is advised to improve the existing fire prevention and control system so that it is by accordance with applicable regulations

Abstract

The objective of this research was to get the effect of friction time on the tensile strength of the joining of aluminum alloy AA6061 and carbon steel, with continuous drive friction welding process. Variations of friction time of this research were 5 seconds, 7 seconds, 9 seconds, and 11 seconds. Other friction welding variables were friction pressure 24 MPa, forging pressure 79 MPa, forging time 60 seconds, and friction rotation speed 1600 rpm. The independent variable was the ultimate tensile strength of the welded joint. The results showed that the relationship between friction time and ultimate tensile strength is not linear, with the increase in friction time. The increasing of friction time, caused the ultimate tensile strength increase to a maximum value and then the ultimate tensile strength of the joint will decrease sharply. The greatest ultimate tensile strength is obtained at a friction time 9 seconds, with ultimate tensile strength 111.89 MPa

Abstract

Along with its development, composites do not only use synthetic fibers, but there are already composite reinforcing materials made from natural fibers. The advantages of natural fiber as a reinforcing material for composite materials are: the ratio between strength and density is quite high, corrosion resistance, low cost and easy manufacturing process. The use of natural fibers as reinforcement for polymer materials provides opportunities for some natural fibers to be used as reinforcement for polymer composites, one of which is thistle fiber. The treatment used was alkaline treatment (NaOH) with percentages of 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%, and 7%, respectively, and the soaking time of 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes, and fiber. Widuri bark without treatment as a comparison. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the concentration of alkaline solution and the duration of immersion on the wettability of single widuri fibers. Single fiber testing refers to ASTM D3379 standard. From the results of the fiber contact angle test with 6% NaOH treatment for 120 minutes with a cos price of 0.906725322 with a droplet geometry that tends to be barrel. Meanwhile, fiber treated with 3% NaOH for 60 minutes had the lowest cos value of 0.472037963 with a droplet geometry that tends to be clam-shell

Abstract

Advances in technology and the times have caused the human need for energy to increase. This condition has an impact on the availability of fuel oil which is decreasing and will run out. To anticipate and prevent these problems, new alternative energy sources are needed as a substitute for energy sources that cannot be replaced. One alternative energy is FAME (fatty acid methyl ester) oil. FAME is a type of fatty acid ester derived by transesterification of fats with methanol. This research was conducted to determine the combustion characteristics of premixed FAME oil in the form of flame temperature and combustion speed. The results of the study, the greater the equivalence ratio, the smaller the flame temperature and combustion speed. This is because less air is available to burn the fuel. On the other hand, the smaller the equivalence ratio, the higher the flame temperature and combustion speed. This is because more and more air is available to burn the fuel. And at the time of equivalence ratio = 0.96, combustion is rich in air and close to the stoichiometric combustion. The angle of fire obtained is directly proportional to the speed of combustion.

Abstract

The research aim was to analyze the effect of the wastevalve mass and the deliver head on the hydram pump efficiency. The method used is the experimental method for the 3-inch hydram pump specimen, then analyzed using mathematical equations in the theory of the hydram pump on the head loss and pump efficiency. The data measured are the inflow, wastewater, and hydram pump outflow. The independent variables in this study were the wastevalve mass, namely 1.5 kg, 2.0 kg, 2.5 kg, and 3.0 kg, and deliver head, namely 3 m, 5 m, and 7 m. The results showed that the wastevalve mass and deliver head an effect on the hydram pump efficiency. The highest efficiency of the hydram pump is at a deliver head of 5 m with 1.5 kg of wastevalve mass, which is 60.60%. Meanwhile, the lowest hydram pump efficiency occurs at a deliver head of 7 m with 3.0 kg of wastevalve mass, which is 27.10%.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pandemi Covid-19 telah berdampak pada berbagai sektor kehidupan masyarakat, baik pada sektor kesehatan, sosial, maupun ekonomi. Pada sektor ekonomi, pandemi Covid-19 sangat berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional yang turut mempengaruhi sektor ketenagakerjaan, dimana terjadi peningkatan angka pengangguran sebagai akibat dari pemutusan Hubungan Kerja (PHK) yang terjadi selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Universitas sebagai lembaga pendidikan tinggi yang juga mengemban misi pengabdian kepada masyarakat, perlu berkontribusi dalam upaya menyelesaian permasalahan tersebut. Target dalam kegiatan ini adalah pemuda usia produktif yang belum memiliki pekerjaan maupun yang kehilangan pekerjaan sebagai dampak dari pandemi Covid-19. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memotivasi dan membentuk pola pikir pemuda untuk kreatif dalam menciptakan lapangan kerja dengan keterampilan kewirausahaan. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan dalam dua tahap, yaitu penyampaian materi yang bersifat teoritis dan praktek pengecatan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini telah memotivasi dan membentuk pola pikir pemuda dengan peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 78% dan peningkatan keterampilan sebesar 84%, sehingga para pemuda memiliki kemampuan untuk menciptakan lapangan kerja berupa usaha pengecatan kendaraan bermotor. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat turut mengurangi tingkat pengangguran yang terjadi di masa pandemi Covid-19. Abstract:  The pandemic caused by COVID-19 has impacted various sectors of people's lives, both in the health, social and economic sectors. As regards economic sector, the pandemic has a powerful effect on national economic growth, mainly, the labour’s sector. Solving problem, as a higher education institution, the university also carries out a community service mission, which is called to contribute for solving problems. The target in this activity is the youth in productive age who do not have a job or who have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This activity aims to motivate and to create the youth mindsets to be creative in creating jobs with entrepreneurial skills. Training activities are carried out in two methods, namely theoretical of entrepreneur’s skills, and painting practice. This activity has motivated and formed the mindset of youth with an increase in understanding by 78% and an increase in skills by 84%, so that they have the ability to create jobs of automotive painting business. The success of this activity is expected to reduce the unemployment rate during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat melalui Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata bertujuan untuk meningkatkan laju geraknya pembangunan masyarakat dengan menumbuh kembangkan motivasi pada masyarakat Desa Fatusene. Adapun target yang diharapkan dapat tercapai, yaitu : kebutuhan air bersih bagi masyarakat dapat terpenuhi, pembuatan kebun percontohan bagi masyarakat, mencegah hewan ternak terkena penyakit, mengajak anak-anak dan pemuda untuk menabung sejak dini, serta membuka pemahaman kepada masyarakat desa untuk melihat peluang usaha sehingga mereka tidak hanya bekerja sebagai petani tetapi juga mengelola hasil tani mereka menjadi produk jadi melalui usaha kecil maupun menengah. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah sosialisasi dan pelatihan dengan melibatkan masyarakat Desa Fatusene secara langsung. Beberapa hasil yang dicapai dalam kegiatan ini adalah tersedianya air bersih, hewan ternak yang tidak terkena penyakit, kebun percontohan yang dapat diikuti oleh masyarakat, terutama anak-anak dan remaja pada masyarakat Desa Fatusene, yang mulai menabung dan tumbuhnya jiwa kewirausahaannya. Kata kunci: pengabdian masyarakat, KKN, pelatihan, sosialisasi ABSTRACTCommunity service activities through the Community Service Program aim to increase the pace of community development by fostering and developing motivation in the people of Fatusene Village. The targets are expected to be achieved, namely: the need for clean water for the community can be met, making demonstration gardens for the community, preventing livestock from getting sick, inviting children and youth to save from an early age, and opening understanding to the village community to see business opportunities. So they not only work as farmers but also manage their agricultural products into finished products through small and medium enterprises. The method of implementing this activity is socialization and training by directly involving the Fatusene Village community. Some of the results achieved in this activity are the availability of clean water, livestock that are not affected by disease, demonstration gardens that can be followed by the community, especially children and adolescents in the community of Fatusene Village, who are starting to save and grow an entrepreneurial spirit. Keywords: community service program, KKN, training, outreach

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh campuran bioethanol Premium terhadap konsumsi bahan bakar dan emisi gas buang. Bioetanol yang digunakan adalah bioethanol dari mesocarp buah lontar dengan tingkat kemurnian ± 98%.Variasi penambahan bioetanol pada premium adalah E-10%, E-20%, E-30%, E-80%, E-90% ,dengan jumlah campuran bahan bakar bioetanol dan premium sebanyak 100ml. Variasi putaran 1500 RPM, 2000 RPM, 2500 RPM, 3000 RPM. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan terdapat pengaruh campuran Bioethanol - Premium terhadap konsumsi bahan bakar dan emisi gas buang. Pengujian rata-rata kandungan CO cenderung mengalami penurunan disetiap penambahan bioethanol, pada setiap kenaikan kecepatan putaran hasilnya bervariasi. HC cenderung meningkat disetiap kenaikan kecepatan putaran, pada setiap penambahan bahan bakar bioethanol kandungan emisi gas buangnya bervariasi.HC tertinggi yang dihasilkan yaitu campuran bahan bakar E-20 dan lebih tinggi dari variasi campuran lainnya yang mencapai 1700 ppm pada kecepatan putaran 2500 RPM. Campuran bahan bakar bioethanol E-30 cenderung meningkat, meskipun pada kecepatan putaran 1000 RPM menghasilkan 925,5 ppm kemudian pada kecepatan 2000 RPM menurun secara drastis yaitu 337,0 ppm, sedangkan untuk campuran bioethnol E-10, E-80 dan E-90 terlihat stabil. Laju konsumsi bahan bakar tertinggi adalah campuran bahan bakar dengan kode sampel E-20 pada setiap peningkatan kecepatan putaran, jika dibandingkan dengan campuran bahan bakar E-30 dan E-80, konsumsi bahan bakar rata-rata mencapai 0,074% sedangkan untuk campuran bahan bakar E-90 meningkat sebesar 0,132% dan E-10 sebesar 0,141%.
