Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi perangkat lunak saat ini mengalami kemajuan signifikan, khususnya pada aplikasi pengolah kata seperti Microsoft Word. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya penguasaan teknis siswa di SMPN 2 Jetis dalam menyusun dokumen formal yang sesuai dengan standar kaidah penulisan karya ilmiah. Fokus utama penelitian adalah pengujian kesesuaian fitur-fitur spesifik pada perangkat lunak Microsoft Word dalam mata Pelajaran Informatika, seperti pengaturan font, paragraph, bold, italic, underline, dan page layout, dalam meningkatkan kompetensi digital siswa pada mata pelajaran Informatika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kuantitatif kepada 30 responden siswa dan fase intervensi untuk mengukur sejauh mana intervensi pelatihan mampu memperbaiki keterampilan teknis siswa dalam membuat karya tulis akademik yang sistematis dan sesuai dengan kaidah. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan kuesioner, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif untuk mengukur indeks performa dan tingkat kepuasan. Hasil penelitian di SMP 2 Jetis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kompetensi akademik yang lebih tinggi, dengan kenaikan skor rata-rata perolehan aspek siswa sebesar 3,1 dan tingkat keberhasilan pelatihan siswa mencapai 87,9%. Penggunaan fitur-fitur tersebut terbukti secara nyata meningkatkan efisiensi waktu pengerjaan tugas akademik dan meminimalisir kesalahan format manual. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penguasaan perangkat pengolah kata secara mendalam merupakan kompetensi digital esensial yang mendukung literasi akademik siswa di tingkat sekolah menengah pertama. Dengan temuan ini, pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis praktik terbukti efektif dalam memperkuat kemampuan teknis siswa secara terukur dan akademis.

Abstract

Students need to have good digital skills because of the growth of digital technology. This is particularly important for using office applications like Microsoft Word. However, from what we saw at MTs Miftahul Arifin Bangsring, many students still had trouble using basic features of Microsoft Word, such as formatting text, creating tables and saving documents. This community service activity was focused on helping students become better at using digital tools by providing training in Microsoft Word. The ways we did this included talking with others, watching what happens, practicing directly, and checking how things went. The event took place on February 15, 2026, and included 8 members from the OSIM management team. The results indicated that the training helped students get better at using Microsoft Word. From the satisfaction survey results, many participants strongly felt that the training was easy to follow and helpful for supporting digital learning activities in school.

Abstract

Operating systems determine the day-to-day sustainability of school computer labs — particularly when institutions face licensing budget constraints, varying device specifications, and basic security requirements. This article is structured as a limited systematic literature review comparing Windows and Linux in an educational context, without claiming to be a primary benchmark experiment. The methodology follows PRISMA 2020 and Kitchenham systematic literature review guidelines, covering research question formulation, literature search, inclusion-exclusion criteria-based selection, quality assessment, and thematic synthesis. From an initial pool of 68 records, 10 relevant and traceable sources were used as the basis for synthesis across five core dimensions: licensing cost, hardware requirements, application compatibility, security, and user readiness. The findings indicate that while Linux presents strict user privilege execution layers and zero direct licensing overhead, Windows demonstrates superior native compatibility with proprietary national examination client browsers and a shorter learning curve due to established user familiarity. This article contributes a multi-criteria decision matrix for educational labs that balances operational constraints against technical efficiency.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pelatihan dasar bahasa pemrograman Java menggunakan NetBeans IDE di SMAI Sirajul Akhyar Ra’as. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara, serta analisis data secara naratif untuk memahami proses pembelajaran dan hasil pelatihan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga sesi mampu meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam menggunakan NetBeans IDE serta pemrograman Java, dengan sekitar 80% peserta memahami konsep dasar dan 60% peserta mengalami peningkatan keterampilan teknis secara mandiri. Simpulan pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan dengan metode praktik langsung dan pendampingan pemateri efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi peserta, serta membekali mereka dengan keterampilan manajemen proyek dan pengelolaan perangkat komputer secara profesional.   Kata Kunci: Java, Netbeans IDE, Pelatihan, Pemrograman, Pembelajaran

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology requires students to possess adequate digital competencies, particularly in using Microsoft Word for academic writing. However, students at MA Nurul Khoiroh Pekarangan Kelir Kalipuro Banyuwangi face limited access to technology, resulting in low proficiency in producing properly formatted and systematic academic papers. This study aims to describe the implementation and outcomes of a Microsoft Word training program for students at MA Nurul Khoiroh. The method employed was descriptive qualitative through a community service approach, consisting of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The training was conducted using lecture, direct demonstration, and guided practice methods, covering materials such as margin settings, text formatting, heading creation, automatic table of contents, and page numbering. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' abilities, from merely typing plain text to producing well-formatted papers in accordance with academic writing standards. This activity demonstrates that a practical and guided training approach is effective in enhancing the digital literacy of students in rural areas.

Abstract

Advancements in information technology have significantly influenced the learning process, particularly in the field of computer programming within vocational high schools. NetBeans is a commonly used application for teaching Java-based programming. This study aims to examine the use of NetBeans in Java programming practical sessions at SMK Ibrahimy 1 Sukorejo, identify the benefits of using the software, and determine the obstacles encountered during these sessions. The findings from the community service activity conducted at SMK Ibrahimy 1 Sukorejo indicate that NetBeans facilitates students' understanding of Java programming syntax through features such as a code editor, debugging tools, and an interface that streamlines the program development process. Furthermore, the use of NetBeans enhances the effectiveness of practical sessions by allowing students to quickly execute and test their programs. However, certain challenges were identified, including students' limited understanding of programming logic, syntax errors, and hardware limitations in some instances. Consequently, NetBeans is considered an effective tool for supporting Java programming practical learning in schools.

Abstract

Perubahan dalam proses pembelajaran telah disebabkan oleh kemajuan teknologi digital, yang termasuk penggunaan media presentasi yang lebih interaktif dan menarik. Namun demikian, kemampuan dalam merancang presentasi digital yang efektif masih menjadi tantangan di berbagai lingkungan pendidikan, termasuk di MTs MIS Al-Mu’allafah Kabupaten Dompu. Keterbatasan keterampilan dalam penggunaan aplikasi desain presentasi menyebabkan media pembelajaran yang digunakan belum sepenuhnya optimal. Jadi, untuk meningkatkan keterampilan digital peserta dalam membuat presentasi kreatif dan komunikatif, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan pelatihan pembuatan presentasi menggunakan Canva dilakukan.. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan partisipatif berbasis pengalaman praktis (pelatihan langsung), yang dilakukan melalui persiapan, persiapan materi, praktik mandiri, dan evaluasi. Cakupan materi pelatihan meliputi pengenalan Canva, prinsip-prinsip desain presentasi, pemilihan warna dan tipografi, pemanfaatan elemen visual, serta teknik penyajian presentasi digital. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa karya presentasi peserta memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 81,70 dengan kategori baik, sedangkan tingkat kepuasan peserta mencapai rata-rata 4,28 dari skala 5 dengan kategori puas. Hasil tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa pelatihan dengan pendekatan praktik langsung mampu meningkatkan kemampuan peserta dalam menggunakan Canva sebagai sarana presentasi, sekaligus memperkuat aspek kreativitas dan rasa percaya diri peserta dalam menunjang proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

One of the biggest problems in technical education is that vocational students lack practical experience installing local area networks, especially when it comes to IP subnetting and UTP cable crimping. By using a project-based learning strategy with a direct practice approach, this study seeks to improve learner capabilities. The research was carried out at SMK Ibrahimy 1 Sukorejo Situbondo involving 32 students as participants. A classroom action research methodology was employed, encompassing phases of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Findings revealed that students' subnetting abilities improved by 63% (from 52.5 to 85.6) while UTP crimping skills increased by 95% (from 45.3 to 88.4) following two instructional cycles. Per-indicator analysis showed that color sequence arrangement experienced the highest improvement (from score 2.1 to 3.5), while cable cutting remained the biggest challenge. The study concludes that practical-oriented local network instruction significantly boosts students' vocational competencies

Abstract

YouTube is no longer merely an entertainment platform; it has gradually evolved into a learning space where elementary school students seek answers to their academic assignments. However, many of them still use the platform without clear direction, often clicking on videos that appear on the homepage without a specific learning purpose. This community service activity was conducted at SDN 2 Jangkar Situbondo with the aim of introducing students to the effective use of YouTube as a learning resource rather than merely as a platform for watching games or cartoons, which often consume most of their after-school leisure time. The activity employed a descriptive qualitative approach consisting of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. These stages were supported by lectures, demonstrations, and guided hands-on practice using a projector in the classroom. The results were encouraging, as students became more aware of educational YouTube channels and gained a better understanding of strategies for searching relevant learning videos. Several students demonstrated high enthusiasm by searching for tutorial videos related to subjects such as mathematics, science, and language studies. Some even compared different educational channels to determine which explanations were easier to understand. This activity demonstrates that even simple guidance delivered within a limited time can gradually shift children's habits toward a more meaningful, productive, and purposeful use of digital media

Abstract

The swift progression of digital technology demands that vocational high school students acquire graphic design competencies that align with current industry standards. One valuable skill to foster is the creation of identification cards (ID cards) through the use of design applications. This study seeks to describe the implementation of ID card design training using CorelDRAW and to assess the progress in students' skills at SMK NU Tenggarang following their engagement in the program. A descriptive quantitative design served as the methodological framework, with data gathered through observation, document analysis, questionnaires, and assessment of students' design outputs. The training series covered fundamental concepts of graphic design, exploration of CorelDRAW features, hands-on practice in ID card creation, and final project evaluation. The results revealed that students demonstrated considerable improvement in both operating CorelDRAW and generating visually appealing and effectively communicative ID card designs. Furthermore, participants showed high program was found to be successful in advancing students' graphic design capabilities and digital literacy within the vocational education context.levels of motivation and offered positive responses throughout the training activities. In conclusion, the In conclusion, the training program successfully improved students' graphic design skills and digital literacy in the vocational education environment. The majority of participants achieved competency in creating professional ID card designs using CorelDRAW.
