Abstract

Children’s well-being is a crucial foundation in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in early childhood education (ECE), yet field facts indicate that academic pressure still hinders children’s emotional growth. This study aims to analyze strategies for strengthening children’s well-being throught the use of loose parts media and a play-responsive teaching approach. Using a descriptive  qualitative method with a library research technique, primary data were sourced from PAUD to SD transition policy documents and international pedagogical protocols, while secondary data were obtained throught the synthesis of reputable literature. The result show that the intentional use of loose parts media can significantly enhance children’s agency and emotional resilience by removing learning product pressure. Furthermore, repositioning the teacher’s role as a play partner is proven to create a more humanistic and inclusive learning ecosystem. These findings recommend the integration of well-being as a core foundation in every play activity planning to ensure children’s fundamental right to happiness in learning

Abstract

Family is the first and primary environment that plays a crucial role in shaping children’s holistic well-being. During early childhood, the quality of family interactions serves as a foundation for socio-emotional development, a sense of security, happiness, and school readiness. One important form of interaction that contributes to children's well-being is family bonding time, defined as quality time spent through meaningful shared activities between parents and children. This study aims to analyze the role of family bonding time in enhancing children’s well-being in early childhood through a literature review approach. Data were collected from reputable national journal articles, developmental theory books, and academic references related to secure attachment, parental involvement, and child well-being. The analysis employed a qualitative descriptive approach through literature identification, thematic categorization, synthesis of previous studies, and conceptual interpretation. The findings indicate that family bonding time contributes significantly to strengthening secure attachment, emotional regulation, social skills, language and cognitive development, as well as children’s sense of security and happiness. Furthermore, family togetherness functions as a protective factor against excessive gadget use and individualistic tendencies. The review also reveals that the quality of interaction has a greater impact on children’s well-being than the amount of time spent together. The implications of this study highlight the importance of strengthening parenting programs and family–school partnerships in early childhood education settings by integrating family bonding activities as a sustainable strategy to promote children’s holistic well-being and optimal development

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of authoritative parenting in supporting children’s well-being in early childhood. This study employs a literature review approach by analyzing several relevant scientific articles published over the past five years. Data were collected through literature review analysis techniques to identify patterns and key findings from various studies. The results of the study indicate that authoritative parenting, characterized by warmth, responsiveness, and consistent control, makes a significant contribution to children’s well-being. Children raised with this parenting style tend to exhibit better emotional regulation, high self-confidence, positive social interactions, and more optimal psychological development. Furthermore, authoritative parenting also supports the development of independence and resilience in young children. The balance between control and emotional support is a crucial factor in creating an environment that fosters children’s holistic development. Therefore, authoritative parenting is recommended as an effective approach to enhancing children’s well-being in early childhood

Abstract

The digital era has revolutionized stimulation patterns in early childhood due to massive exposure to short-duration digital content that is rapid and intensive. This overstimulasi phenomenon is suspected as the primary etiological factor in the deficiency of emotional response regulation in children. This study aims to analyze the implications of digital content overstimulasi on the emotional regulation capabilities of early childhood through a comprehensive literature review. The applied methodology is a library study, involving the analysis of 20 reputable national journal articles published within the 2021–2025 period, accessed from the Google Scholar, Sinta, and Garuda databases. Substantial findings indicate that excessive exposure to high-speed content (high screen time) induces non-physiological dopamine release, resulting in a decreased frustration tolerance threshold, increased tantrum incidence, and degradation of attention span. Digital content overstimulasi inhibits the maturation of the prefrontal cortex as the center of emotional regulation. Children's psychological well-being in the digital era is highly conditional on the moderation of digital device usage. A synergy between parental supervision (mediated monitoring) and exposure duration limitations is required to maintain the stability of children's emotional regulation

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of children’s well-being and its relationship with the quality of early childhood education. This research uses a qualitative approach through a literature review method, with data sources obtained from Google Scholar, PubMed Central, and ScienceDirect. Articles were selected based on relevance, publication within the last ten years, and full-text availability. Data were analyzed using content analysis to identify key themes. The findings show that children’s well-being is multidimensional, including emotional, social, cognitive, and environmental aspects. It influences children’s readiness, engagement in learning, and overall development. Children with good well-being tend to be emotionally stable, more active, and better able to adapt. In contrast, unfavorable conditions may hinder the learning process. The study also reveals a reciprocal relationship between well-being and learning experiences. Therefore, improving early childhood education should place children’s well-being as a fundamental basis through safe environments, positive interactions, and child-centered learning

Abstract

Children's well-being in the school setting is an essential basis for successful holistic development. The purpose of this project is to examine how educational techniques and the physical and psychosocial school environment can work together to achieve long-term child well-being. This study's methodology is a descriptive literature review that looks at a variety of educational psychology and child-friendly school research journals. The findings demonstrate that children's sense of security and belonging is greatly increased when a warm teaching approach is combined with an inclusive physical setting and a supportive psychosocial climate. The study's conclusion highlights that a "Happy School" is attained when the school ecosystem can include elements of happiness into the curriculum and everyday interactions, which eventually lowers academic anxiety and raises student involvement. The implications of this research are twofold: theoretically, it enriches the discourse on child well-being by integrating ecological and pedagogical perspectives; practically, it provides actionable guidance for educators, school administrators, and policymakers to design child-centered environments and training programs that prioritize emotional safety alongside academic goals, ultimately contributing to more sustainable and inclusive educational practices
