Abstract

Environmental pollution is currently a disturbing issue for the survival of life, including in shipping and port activities, therefore the Ministry of Transportation issued PM Number 39 of 2021 and PM Number 24 of 2022. Based on conditions in the field, it is known that these regulations have not been complied with, such as pollution control tools and materials, port personnel competence, and fulfillment of pollution prevention on ships as evidenced by a Certificate approved by a classification body recognized and appointed by the Minister. The purpose of writing this mandatory working paper is none other than to determine the suitability of conditions in the field with existing regulations. The study used the method gap analysis that compares existing conditions with expected conditions according to regulations. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion of the problems, it was concluded that the prevention of water pollution at the Bitung Ferry Port is still not in accordance with PM Number 39 of 2021 and PM Number 24 of 2022, so that proposals are needed in efforts to prevent pollution in the waters, namely to procure pollution prevention tools and materials, improve the competence of pollution prevention for personnel, and fulfill pollution prevention by ships as evidenced by a certificate.

Abstract

ASDP Ferry Port Bitung Branch is one of the ports located in North Sulawesi Province, precisely in Bitung City. This port has an important role in Bitung City, namely as an access for crossings between islands and provinces in the Sulawesi region. Currently, ASDP Ferry Port Birung Branch has not implemented a zone system in accordance with applicable regulations which has resulted in sterilization at the port and irregularities in the flow of passenger and vehicle traffic at the port. This is because the facilities in Zone A1, namely the ticket machine at the port gate, are still not functioning so that unauthorized vehicles can enter the port at will, the weighbridge is not functioning so that ships with excess loads can still board the ship and the toll gate is not functioning as a place to sell vehicle tickets so that drivers must get off first to buy tickets in the waiting room and there is no special lane for passengers who will get on or off the ship. The analysis of the problem then used an analysis guided by the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number 91 of 2021 concerning Zoning in Port Areas Used to Serve Ferry Transportation and the Decree of the Director General of Land Transportation Number SK,242/HK.104/DRJD/2010 concerning Technical Guidelines for Crossing Traffic Management as a guideline for the analysis of the addition of supporting equipment for the zoning system and flow patterns referring to the Regulation of the Minister Number 13 of 2014 concerning Traffic Signs. Based on the results of the analysis above, in order to create a safe and orderly crossing port, the ASDP Ferry Port, Bitung Branch can determine the zoning system and regulate the flow patterns of passengers and vehicles at the ASDP Ferry Port, Bitung Branch, in this case it is also necessary to add facilities and restore the function of several facilities such as Tollgates and weighbridges

Abstract

On the Ajibata-Tomok route, there are still vehicles and passengers that are not loaded onto the ship, so that service users must wait for the next departure. This can certainly be detrimental to service users, for example for service users who bring vehicles containing logistics for Samosir Island, where if there is a delay it can disrupt the economic activities of Samosir Island. Therefore, this study aims to determine the ship load factor, efficient operating patterns and departure schedule planning based on the number of ship trips. This study is quantitative with a calculation formulation that is analyzed using several load factor analysis methods, passenger and vehicle growth prediction analysis using the arima method, ship frequency analysis, and scheduling analysis. Based on the analysis results, the departure load factor on the Ajibata-Tomok route for passengers is 30% and vehicles is 95%, lay over time is 48.58 minutes, and the current ship round trip time is 203.96 minutes. The frequency of the existing fleet is 2 ships with 12 trip departures/day, making the ship schedule serving the Ajibata-Tomok route still inappropriate. So a scheduling plan is designed according to the needs of service users, namely 5 trips/ship/day and an additional ship fleet is needed to become 3 ships. The results of passenger and vehicle growth forecasts show that productivity will continue to increase by 44% each year. Planning an efficient ship departure operating pattern can reduce the ship load factor.

Abstract

Simanindo Port is a very important ferry port in connecting Sumatra Island with Samosir Island via waterways. In this case, the author compares the installation and activation of AIS and communication devices, but the current conditions are not in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM 18 of 2022 concerning the Automatic Identification System for Ships Carrying Out Activities in the Territory of Indonesia and the Regulation of the Director General of Land Transportation Number: KP.3424 / AP.402 / DRJD / 2020 concerning River and Lake Ships. Through qualitative methods, the author conducted direct observations of the actual conditions in the field, namely seeing directly the operation of traditional motorboats, boarding and disembarking passengers and AIS installed on traditional motorboats and their activation while the ship was sailing. Based on the analysis results that have been obtained, the KSOPP Lake Toba together with the Water Police and the government have made efforts so that ship operators comply with the installation and activation of AIS and communication devices to support smooth sailing of ships, namely by carrying out ramp checks and coaching for ship operators who are not yet compliant. But in reality, of the 17 traditional motor ships operating, there are still 2 traditional motor ships that have not been installed with AIS, 6 traditional motor ships that have not been installed with communication devices and on each ship that has been installed with AIS and communication devices, it is still not effective in terms of activation when sailing and tends to deactivate AIS and the communication device. So ship owners need to be aware of installing AIS and communication devices on ships and ship operators must also always activate AIS when sailing for shipping safety.

Abstract The research findings indicate that the target that was set and the remarkably high turnover rate observed in the Whndam Opi Hotel are phenomena that warrant further investigation. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to analyze how organizational committee motivation relates to Wyndham Opi Hotel employee work. Utilizing a sample size of 160 employees, data were collected via kuesioner and interview techniques. The analysis technique that is used is SEM-PLS. The results of this analysis indicate that effective, continuous, and normative commitments have a clear impact on employees' motivation in the workplace. On the other hand, in terms of work performance, a functional and continuous commitment has an impact on work performance, whereas a normative commitment has an impact. The analysis of motivation that mediates commitments to work that are effective, continuous, and normative with regard to work life indicates that commitments to work life are meaningful when they mediate the relationship between work life and commitments to work life and commitments to normative work life, but not commitments to work life. Let's just see how much of a shock absorber the Whyndam Op Hotel Palembang employees are if the turnover rate is still rather high. Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence into corporate decision-making processes has introduced complex ethical challenges that demand urgent scholarly and practical attention. This study explores how AI implementation influences business ethics across five key dimensions: algorithmic bias, transparency, responsibility diffusion, privacy, and human autonomy. Employing a qualitative research design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 25 executives and ethics officers from multinational corporations across diverse sectors. Thematic analysis revealed widespread concerns about the opacity of AI systems, ethical disengagement, and the absence of clear accountability structures. Although some organizations have begun adopting ethical AI governance frameworks, the effectiveness of these measures varies significantly, with many efforts remaining reactive and fragmented. The findings highlight a critical gap between ethical aspirations and organizational realities, emphasizing the need for systemic reforms that embed ethics into the design, deployment, and oversight of AI technologies. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on AI ethics by offering empirical insights and actionable implications for policy, leadership, and future research.

Abstract

River and lake traffic signs play an important role in maintaining the safety of water navigation, but there is still a lack of understanding and supporting technology to recognize them automatically. This study aims to compare the performance of two popular object detection methods, namely YOLOv7 and Single Shot Multibox Detector (SSD), in identifying river and lake signs based on digital images. The dataset used consists of 6,650 images, including original data and data that has been augmented with visual degradation such as low resolution, noise, blur, lighting artifacts, occlusion, and cluttered background. This study evaluates the models based on accuracy, precision, and recall metrics. The test results show that YOLOv7 excels in all metrics, with the highest accuracy of 78%, compared to SSD which only reaches 70%. Both models experience a significant decrease in performance under occlusion and cluttered background conditions, but YOLOv7 still shows better resilience. Meanwhile, the blur condition is the degradation that least affects the performance of both models. These findings confirm that YOLOv7 is more robust to visual disturbances and can be a more effective alternative in automatic river and lake traffic sign recognition systems.
