Abstract

This article discusses the role of social media application "X" in shaping public spaces during the 2024 elections in Indonesia. This research shows that social media has become an important tool for politicians to convey campaign messages, respond to issues, and interact with voters effectively. While social media offers advantages in increasing political participation, there are also challenges such as polarization and the spread of misinformation. The "X" app serves as a platform that allows for the rapid dissemination of information, creating a space for various political actors to communicate and shape public opinion. Through a qualitative approach, this study analyzes how the "X" application facilitates political discussion and its impact on public participation and the quality of democracy. The results of the study show that social media can strengthen public space, although it also has the potential to cause conflicts and the spread of hoaxes. As such, it is important to understand the dynamics of interaction on social media and how it affects people's perception of the political process. This research is expected to provide useful insights for better use of social media in the political context in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of Deddy Corbuzier's podcast on the perception of PMI 3B students on the 2024 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election campaign on YouTube and to analyze the forms of the role of Deddy Corbuzier's podcast on the 2024 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election campaign on YouTube on the perception of PMI 3B students. This research methodology uses a constructivist paradigm to understand how influencers, through social interaction and digital communication, shape public perception and influence the media economy and political advertising. The approach used is descriptive qualitative. Based on this study, it is concluded that, the perception of PMI class 3B students towards the Close The Door podcast shows that this podcast is effective as a political communication tool for the younger generation. With a relaxed and in-depth format, this podcast makes it easy for students to access political information, in accordance with Robert G. Picard's media economics theory. Deddy Corbuzier's open discussion style and use of YouTube as a distribution platform allow for wide reach at low cost, influencing public perception without large costs. This podcast also functions as a tool that increases political awareness by providing a platform for dialogue, enriching students' political understanding through diverse views. Overall, Close The Door optimizes the attention economy and plays an important role in political campaigns effectively.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the increasing imitation of Korean cultural trends which are increasingly hot. Korean culture, which is currently trending in Indonesia, has spread to teenagers or Gen Z, starting from hairstyles, Korean fashion, and everything that smells Korean. The author examines the imitation of Korean trends among Gen Z, where Gen Z has extensive knowledge of Korean trends so that their application of imitation is also very strong. The method used in this research is qualitative with literature study. The object of this research discusses the strong imitation of Korean trends among Gen Z and Gen Z's knowledge about Korea which originates from the mass media.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dan era globalisasi telah meningkatkan penggunaan media sosial di berbagai kalangan masyarakat, terutama remaja. TikTok, sebagai platform media sosial yang populer, telah mempengaruhi tren fashion hijab di kalangan remaja muslimah di Indonesia. Hijab, yang awalnya dianggap sebagai simbol religius dan kewajiban agama, kini telah menjadi bagian dari tren fashion yang berkembang pesat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif untuk mengkaji konstruksi sosial yang dibentuk oleh masyarakat terhadap remaja berhijab di TikTok.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk persepsi dan sikap remaja terhadap hijab, baik sebagai simbol kecantikan maupun identitas keagamaan. Tren fashion hijab di TikTok memperlihatkan adaptasi antara nilai-nilai agama dan budaya populer, menciptakan harmoni antara tradisi dan modernitas. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk memahami kompleksitas dan keragaman pengalaman remaja berhijab serta mengadopsi pendekatan yang inklusif dan penuh pengertian untuk menciptakan masyarakat yang lebih toleran dan berempati.

Abstract

This study aims to show the effectiveness of the communication styles of Ustadz Abdul Somad (UAS) and Ustadz Adi Hidayat (UAH) through the lens of Aristotle’s persuasion theory, as well as to compare both based on the concepts of ethos, pathos, and logos. Adopting a constructivist paradigm, the study employs a communication and sermon science approach, utilizing a case study method. Data was collected through a review of digital media documentation and analyzed inductively using a thematic approach, including data coding, theme identification, and narrative construction. The findings reveal that UAS is more straightforward and simple in terms of logos in delivering its message, while UAH adopts a more analytical and comprehensive approach. Regarding pathos, UAS engages the audience emotionally through humor and light-hearted stories, while UAH encourages deeper reflection with real-life examples. Regarding ethos, both Ustadz holds high credibility, with UAS being perceived as more approachable, while UAH is seen as more academic. UAS’s communication style is more effective for a broad audience, utilizing an interactive and simple approach. In contrast, UAH’s style is more effective for an audience seeking in-depth understanding through an academic and introspective approach.

Abstract

Dalam kehidupan manusia pasti memiliki beragam kebiasaan. Ada yang cenderung ingin cepat menyelesaikan pekerjaan dan adapun yang suka menunda mengerjakan pekerjaannya. Sikap menunda-nunda dalam bahasa psikologi adalah "prokrastinasi" dan pelakunya disebut sebagai "prokrastinator". Fenomena prokrastinasi ini beresiko merugikan para pelajar dalam kehidupannya, baik berupa akademik maupun non akademik. Prokrastinasi di kalangan siswa terdapat beberapa jenis proktrastinasi seperti yang dikatakan oleh para ahli seperti tugas mengarang, membaca, mengadiri pertemuan, dan lainnya. Hal ini sudah menjadi kebiasaan yang terus diulang oleh pelaku prokrastinasi dikalangan pelajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Hubungan Antara Religiusitas Siswa Dengan Prokrastinasi Akademik di SMA Negeri 10 Bogor. Pengumpulan data menggunakan Skala Likert, adalah untuk mengukur sikap, pendapat, dan persepsi seseorang atau sekelompok orang tentang fenomena sosial. Metode sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Simlpe Random Sampling dengan menggunakan 91 responden. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua skala yaitu skala religiusitas siswa dan skala prokrastinasi akademik. Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara religiusitas siswa dengan prokrastinasi akademik menggunakan kolerasi product moment. Hasil koefisien kolerasi antara dua variabel yaitu yx = 0,466 p = 0,207. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa berdasarkan analisis data yang diambil dari penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan yang signifikan antara religiusitas siswa dengan prokrastinasi akademik di SMA Negeri 10 Bogor.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi komunikasi politik yang dijalankan Erdo?an melalui platform media sosial selama kampanye pemilu Turki 2023 dan mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk propaganda digital yang digunakan dalam kampanye dan bagaimana narasi tersebut dikonstruksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka dan juga didukung oleh dokumentasi visual berupa dua foto poster kampanye Erdo?an yang diambil langsung oleh penulis saat berada di Turki pada bulan Mei 2023. Analisis berdasarkan teori propaganda Harold D. Lasswell mengungkapkan bahwa kampanye Erdo?an dirancang secara sistematis untuk menyampaikan pesan-pesan politik melalui berbagai saluran komunikasi kepada khalayak yang ditargetkan, dengan tujuan mempengaruhi persepsi dan perilaku pemilih. Temuan dari studi pustaka dan dokumentasi visual menunjukkan bahwa propaganda dalam kampanye Erdo?an tidak hanya berfokus pada penyebaran pesan positif tentang kepemimpinannya, tetapi juga melibatkan penyebaran disinformasi dan pembatasan terhadap suara-suara kritis. Hal ini menimbulkan kekhawatiran tentang kondisi demokrasi digital di Turki dan perlunya regulasi yang lebih ketat untuk memastikan kebebasan berekspresi dan integritas proses pemilu.?

Abstract

The practices of money politics, identity misuse, and political apathy reflect deviations from Islamic political values. Therefore, the Prosperous Justice Party implements a da'wah strategy in South Jakarta. This study aims to analyze the da'wah strategy of the Prosperous Justice Party in instilling Islamic political values and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in South Jakarta. This research uses a case study method with interviews, observation, and documentation to collect data. Data processing involves condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, followed by triangulation and confirmability to ensure data validity. Findings: The da'wah strategy of the Prosperous Justice Party is implemented through free health check-up services, the sale of low-cost necessities, and the building of relationships with religious leaders, organizations, and Islamic institutions. Meanwhile, the Member Development Unit demonstrates a rational da'wah strategy through a structured, focused cadre system and learning process. Inhibiting factors of the da'wah strategy include limited operational funds, a community that tends to be pragmatic and opportunistic, and the spread of false information. Supporting factors include the ownership of their building, the active role of the Member Development Unit, and support from religious leaders, organizations, and Islamic institutions. Conclusion: The da'wah conducted by the Prosperous Justice Party employs sentimental, rational, and sensory strategies through social programs and institutional relations to instill Islamic political values in society.

Abstract

The transformation of digital media has changed the way people receive and shape political information, especially through the TikTok platform which is now a popular political campaign medium among the younger generation. This study aims to examine the form of framing of political content on TikTok during the 2022 Malaysian Election and its influence on the formation of public opinion. With a qualitative approach and using Robert N. Entman's framing model, this study analyzes how political issues are constructed by creators and political parties on TikTok. The results show that TikTok is not only a tool for political mobilization, but also an arena for narrative battles that significantly influence the orientation of young voters. These findings emphasize the importance of media literacy and digital ethics in the current digital democratic landscape.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah mengubah lanskap komunikasi politik, terutama di kalangan generasi muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk dan strategi komunikasi persuasif dalam kampanye politik digital bertagar #JokowiPrabowo melalui akun TikTok @MERAHPUTIH serta mengeksplorasi persepsi politik mahasiswa terhadap kampanye tersebut. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif dan teori kampanye Charles U. Larson, penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa kampanye ini memanfaatkan tiga elemen utama retorika ethos, pathos, dan logos dalam membentuk citra politik. Hasil observasi dan wawancara menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mengapresiasi bentuk konten yang menarik dan emosional, tetapi juga menunjukkan sikap kritis terhadap kemungkinan pencitraan politik. TikTok diposisikan tidak hanya sebagai media hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai ruang politik digital yang aktif dan partisipatif. Temuan ini menyoroti pentingnya literasi politik digital agar kampanye tidak hanya menyentuh emosi, tetapi juga mengedukasi publik secara substantif.
