Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is one of the disorders during menstruation. Dysmenorrhea affects quality of life by limiting physical activity, and impairing focus. The study aims to determine the correlation between knowledge and attitude in overcoming dysmenorrhea in students of Nutrition Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas 'Aisyiyah Yogyakarta. This study employed an analytic observational with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were students of the 6th semester of Nutrition Study Program by using a total sampling technique, a sample of 65 respondents was obtained. The data was collected using an instrument in the form of a knowledge and attitude questionnaire in overcoming dysmenorrhea. The data analysis used the Chi Square statistical test. The results of the study showed that there were sufficient knowledge about dysmenorrhea as many as 30 people (46.2%) and negative attitudes in overcoming dysmenorrhea as many as 39 people (60.0%). The results of the Chi Square statistical test obtained a significance value of 0.000 so that (p < 0.05) means that there was a significant correlation between knowledge and attitudes in overcoming dysmenorrhea. It is known that the correlation coefficient is 0.620, which means that the category of the closeness of the correlation is strong. In conclusion, there is a significant correlation between knowledge and attitudes in overcoming dysmenorrhea. The respondents are suggested to increase knowledge about dysmenorrhea, so that they can overcome dysmenorrhea appropriately.

Abstract

Abortion is the release of fetus in the uterus before 20 weeks or less than 5 months of pregnancy and the fetus weights less than 500 gram. In addition, the fetus still cannot live outside the uterus. The risky factors of abortion are mother’s age, parity, previous abortion history, education, occupation, and the distance of pregnancy with the previous pregnancy. The study is to investigate the frequency distribution of risk factors of spontaneous abortion of pregnant women at Panembahan Senopati Regional Public Hospital of Panembahan Senopati Bantul in 2017 – 2018. The study was analytic in type. The population of the study was 60 pregnant women. The samples of the study were 54 pregnant women. The samples were taken using total population. The analysis method was univariat analysis to reveal frequency distribution. The study revealed that 54 people experienced spontaneous abortion and 40 people (74.1%) experienced imminens abortion and 14 people (25.9%) experienced incompletes abortion. The risk factors of spontaneous abortion based on univariat analysis were non-risky age, safe parity 91, 2, and 3), non - spontaneous abortion history, non- anemic condition, educational level of senior high school, working status, and more than 2 years of pregnancy distance. It is suggested that health officers perform midwifery care on pregnant women experiencing spontaneous abortion.

Abstract

Adolescents have problems related to genital hygiene, namely poor behavior or habits associated with maintaining the cleanliness of reproductive organs. Personal hygiene knowledge is vital during adolescent menstruation because it influences behavior in caring for reproductive health during menstruation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the association between knowledge and personal hygiene behavior in adolescent girls during menstruation. This is quantitative study using a cross-sectional approach. The total sampling strategy was used to select 44 young women for this study. A questionnaire is being used to collect data in this study. The Fisher exact test was employed to analyze the data in this study. According to the findings of the study, 23 teenagers (52.3%) had adequate understanding of personal hygiene during menstruation. Personal hygiene habits among teenage females during menstruation was good for 41 of them (93.2%). The P-value for the analysis was 0.001 (0.05), demonstrating a link between knowledge and personal hygiene behavior. Conclusion : Good knowledge has been proven to cause good personal hygiene behavior in adolescents. Suggestion : Miftahunnajah Yogyakarta Islamic Boarding School can routinely provide information related to personal hygiene so that young women have good knowledge and personal hygiene behavior.
