Abstract

In hydroponic cultivation, the effectiveness of nutrient distribution is crucial in ensuring optimal plant growth. This research aims to compare the efficiency of nutrient solution delivery using an Internet of Things (IoT)-based NPK sensor with the conventional manual method on the growth of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The study was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two treatment groups: one utilizing IoT-based NPK sensors and the other without sensors. Each treatment was repeated twice, with nine plant samples per repetition. The observed growth parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight, and dry weight at six weeks after planting. The findings revealed that the implementation of IoT-based NPK sensors significantly enhanced the growth of pakcoy plants compared to the manual method. This was evidenced by a notable increase in plant height, leaf area, and fresh weight (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the application of IoT technology improves the efficiency and effectiveness of nutrient distribution in hydroponic systems, positively impacting plant growth. The scientific significance of this research suggests that integrating IoT-based technology into hydroponic farming can serve as an innovative approach to enhancing plant productivity in a precise and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Kebakaran hutan dan deforestasi telah menjadi ancaman signifikan terhadap keberlanjutan ekosistem global, mengakibatkan kerugian ekologi, sosial, dan ekonomi. Fenomena ini dipicu oleh faktor seperti aktivitas manusia, perubahan iklim, dan kebijakan tata kelola hutan yang kurang efektif. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi solusi berbasis teknologi dan komunitas yang dapat mengurangi dampak kebakaran hutan dan deforestasi. Metodologi yang digunakan mencakup tinjauan literatur, analisis studi kasus dari wilayah yang terdampak parah, serta wawancara dengan pakar lingkungan dan praktisi komunitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknologi seperti citra satelit, kecerdasan buatan, dan sistem pemantauan berbasis sensor efektif dalam mendeteksi kebakaran hutan secara dini dan mengurangi intensitas kerusakan. Sementara itu, keterlibatan komunitas lokal melalui program edukasi, pemberdayaan ekonomi alternatif, dan inisiatif pengelolaan hutan berbasis masyarakat terbukti meningkatkan keberlanjutan konservasi hutan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan integratif, yang menggabungkan teknologi canggih dan partisipasi aktif masyarakat, merupakan langkah strategis dalam memitigasi risiko kebakaran hutan dan deforestasi. Implikasi penelitian ini mencakup rekomendasi kebijakan untuk mengadopsi teknologi modern dan memperkuat kapasitas komunitas lokal dalam pengelolaan lingkungan secara berkelanjutan, guna menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem dan mendorong keberlanjutan jangka panjang.

Abstract

Gulma adalah tumbuhan yang merugikan dan tidak diinginkan kehadirannya. Kehadiran gulma dapat merugikan tanaman budidaya karena menimbulkan persaingan dalam memperebutkan air, unsur hara, cahaya matahari, dan ruang tumbuh. Oxalis barrelieri L. adalah salah satu jenis gulma pengganggu yang banyak ditemukan di perkebunan kelapa sawit yang mengandung senyawa fenol, terpenoid, antosianidin, antrakuinon, kumarin, dan saponin. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan upaya pengendalian gulma secara biologis. Berdasarkan hal tersebut telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh mulsa serbuk gergaji kayu terhadap biomassa gulma Oxalis barrelieri L. di perkebunan kelapa sawit Nagari Kasang Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari-Februari 2024 di perkebunan kelapa sawit Nagari Kasang Kabupaten Padang Pariaman dan Laboratorium Botani Departemen Biologi FMIPA Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian menggunakan 40 unit petak contoh, dimana 20 unit petak contoh diberi mulsa serbuk gergaji kayu masing-masing sebanyak 5 kg dan 20 unit petak contoh tidak diberi mulsa serbuk gergaji kayu. Data biomassa gulma dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan biomassa gulma Oxalis barrelieri L. yang diberi mulsa serbuk gergaji kayu dengan yang tidak diberi serbuk gergaji kayu. Biomassa gulma Oxalis barrelieri yang diberi mulsa serbuk gergaji kayu adalah 5,08 gram/m2 sedangkan biomassa gulma Oxalis barrelieri yang tidak diberi mulsa serbuk gergaji kayu yaitu 18,82 gram/m2.

Abstract

Asystasia gangetica merupakan tanaman pengganggu yang banyak dijumpai di perkebunan kelapa sawit sehingga dikhawatirkan mempengaruhi produksi kelapa sawit. Oeh sebab itu, perlu dilakukan upaya pengendalian gulma A. gangetica secara biologi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh serasah jerami padi terhadap biomassa dan potensinya dalam pengendalian gulma ara sungsang (Asystasia gangetica) pada perkebunan kelapa sawit di nagari kataping, padang pariaman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh serasah jerami padi terhadap biomassa A. gangetica pada perkebunan kelapa sawit di Nagari Ketaping, Padang Pariaman. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan November - Desember 2023 disalah satu perkebunan kelapa sawit milik masyarakat Nagari Kataping Padang Pariaman dan Laboratorium Botani Jurusan Biologi FMIPA Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian menggunakan 40 plot dengan luas plot 1 x 1 m, dimana 20 plot tidak diberi serasah jerami padi dan 20 plot lagi diberi serasah jerami padi. Data biomassa gulma A. gangetica dianalisis dengan uji T pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian mulsa serasah jerami padi memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap biomassa gulma A. gangetica, dimana biomassa gulma A. gangetica yang diberi serasah jerami padi lebih rendah (45,3 g/m), dari pada biomassa A. gangetica yang tidak diberi serasah jerami padi (79,1 g/m).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan efektivitas sistem hidroponik otomatis berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) menggunakan sensor NPK dan pupuk organik cair (POC) yang berasal dari daun Gliricidia sepium dengan metode pemberian nutrisi secara manual dalam budidaya kailan (Brassica oleracea var. acephala). Percobaan dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan dua perlakuan dan dua ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, berat segar, dan berat kering. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji t independen pada tingkat signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem otomatis berbasis IoT berpengaruh signifikan terhadap jumlah daun, luas daun, berat segar, dan berat kering, namun tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tinggi tanaman. Sistem ini terbukti meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan nutrisi, mempercepat pertumbuhan tanaman, dan menghasilkan hasil panen yang lebih optimal.

Abstract

Amorphophallus has 176 species spread throughout the world, 25 of which are found in Indonesia. Of the 25 species found in Indonesia, 8 of them are endemic to Sumatra. One type of Amorphophallus found on the island of Sumatra is Amorphophallus titanum, whose survival in its natural habitat is threatened by deforestation and forest degradation. As an endemic plant, A. titanum is also more vulnerable to anthropogenic threats and environmental change, and therefore faces a greater risk of extinction than more widespread species. To prevent species extinction and as a form of biodiversity conservation, information is needed that presents the population status of A. titanum in its natural habitat. This article aims to provide information about the population of corpse flowers (Amorphophallus titanum Becc) in Sumatra. The research method used is a literature review. Data was obtained from journals and articles published from 2005 to 2023. Based on research conducted, it is known that A. titanum is often found in Bengkulu, Lampung, Jambi, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. The highest population of A. titanum is in Muara Hemat Village, South Kerinci Resort, Kerinci Seblat National Park, Jambi, with a total of 83 individuals. In Bengkulu, A. titanum is found in several locations; in KHDTK (Forest Areas with Special Purposes) as many as 64 individuals. At Ketapang Water, Jufi Hill and Datar Lebar Waterfall there were 56 individuals. In the Mount IV Kepahiang Nature Reserve there are 56 individuals. In Tebat Monok, Air Selimang and Palak Siring the number is 52 individuals. Meanwhile in North Sumatra, specifically in the Sibolangit Nature Reserve, Sibolangit Nature Reserve, Dolok Sipirok Nature Reserve, and Namo Suro Baru Village, 32 individuals were found. In Palupuah, Agam Regency, and South Solok, West Sumatra, there are 24 individuals, and also in the Liwa Botanical Gardens, Lampung, there are 4 individuals.

Abstract

Salah salah media yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi adalah media pembelajaran berbasis e-learning. Platform e-learning yang digunakan di SMA DEK yaitu Scola. Namun sampai saat ini belum diketahui bagaimana penerimaan peserta didik terhadap Scola. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan Perceived Usefulness (PU) dengan Behavioral Intention (BI) pada peserta didik pengguna Scola pembelajaran biologi di SMA DEK. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif korelasi menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment dan uji t setelah data diketahui terdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai PU yang didapatkan yaitu 74,06 %  dan nilai BI yaitu 70,90 % sehingga dikatakan dalam kategori tinggi. Nilai r yang didapatkan yaitu 0,78 dan nilai thitung yaitu 8,5 dibandingkan dengan ttabel 1,679 yang berarti bahwa thitung ttabel. Dengan demikian hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang kuat dan positif antara Perceived Usefulness (PU) dengan Behavioral Intention (BI) pada peserta didik pengguna Scola pada pembelajaran biologi di SMA DEK.

Abstract

Policy reforms and research on agricultural ecology need to be intensified to reduce land damage and the massive ecological and chemical impacts of soil pollution. This is related to the increasing population that requires clothing, food and welfare. Furthermore, although there has been a shift towards a form of agriculture with high added value. This problem must be found a solution by diversifying efforts, ecological applications on agricultural cultivation land and making breakthroughs in making organic fertilizers with various sources and environmentally friendly ways. This is rational and can be done by involving the industry, universities and farmer groups who are smart and productive. Abstract

Pakcoy is a type of vegetable widely used as a staple food or as a complementary dish; however, its production in Indonesia tends to be unstable. This study aimed to improve the growth of pakcoy using an NFT hydroponic system equipped with IoT-based pH and TDS sensors. The research was conducted at Alfi Hydroponik Padang and the Biology Department Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Padang, from June to September 2025, using a completely randomized design with 2 treatments, each consisting of 9 replications. The data were analyzed using an independent t-test in SPSS at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the use of sensors was significantly more effective than manual methods, with average plant height of 25.889 cm, 19.44 leaves, leaf area of 503.117 cm², fresh weight of 89.224 g, and dry weight of 48.474 g. These results indicate that the application of IoT-based pH and TDS sensors can enhance the growth of pakcoy in a hydroponic system.

Abstract

At the present time, pressures on local ecosystems put many endemic species at risk of extinction if conservation measures are not promptly implemented. This community service program aimed to empower tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis) in Singgalang Tandikek Nature Park through biodiversity education and photography training to support conservation-based ecotourism. The program targeted local guides, providing knowledge on endemic and protected species, particularly the Sumatran striped rabbit (Nesolagus netscheri), combined with practical photography skills using smartphones and ethical documentation practices. Activities included biodiversity lectures, hands-on photography, species identification, and social media promotion of local biodiversity. Evaluation using pre-test and post-tests showed an increase in participants’ photography knowledge (mean score 7.57 to 8.71), indicating improved awareness and skills in documenting biodiversity. The program successfully enhanced local capacity to promote sustainable ecotourism while fostering conservation ethics.
